Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry and cold outside here in Brackley this morning.
After breakfast do a tidy up and then get the bus to Bicester to shop and hopefully chat to those I know.
My Health is OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all to follow from Shropshire.

Today we are off to Staffordshire to collect DGS1 from school.

Thinking of all with mountains to climb and wishing everyone the best day possible🌷🦩

Grandmabatty Mon 20-Apr-26 05:36:30

Good morning Mick and others from Polmont where it's currently 5° and dry. Signs of dawn approaching.
Yesterday I rested again and my feet are definitely improving. I went to aldi and stocked up. Dd popped in and stole some carrots then later on the amazon delivery arrived with paper for the boys to draw on and a new toaster.
Today I will head to their house then drop off the boys at school/nursery. Once home, I'll probably have a nap before going to pick them up again. In between, I will tidy the kitchen and replace the toaster. And do a bit in the school library. Salmon fillet for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 27°C.

Had a lovely day with DD3 and the boys yesterday. We went to an agricultural fair where the boys were delighted to sit up on shiny new tractors and admire the many beautiful animals on show. (Piglets, sheep, a tiny two-day old lamb, cows, rabbits, hens, all so clean and looking adorable)

There were various stalls selling local produce, we bought strawberries and honey, the boys were fascinated by the bees.

It was, however, far too peopley for our liking, I think the whole of Malta had had the same idea, so we went out for lunch at a restaurant I hadn’t been to before. They had a supervised play area for the boys and supplied a pager in case we were needed. No sooner had DD3 sat down than it started flashing, so back she went to find nothing wrong, just DGS2 checking it worked!😂

I did my wretched ironing before going out so today I will clean the windows, steam mop the floors and do a general dust round.

Must also call the plumber to remind him about my leaking loo.

Glad you’re feeling a bit better Grandmabatty, safe travels Susan, and wishing a good day to all.☀️

Good morning, it’s dark and dry here in south Glos, as I looked out the window I saw a fox trotting along the pavement; he triggered the security light next door as he disappeared down their garden path.
Yesterday’s sunshine was lovely but there was a chilly wind, at least the washing dried nicely. I didn’t seem to achieve much at all but I did do some more embroidery.
I actually watched the beginning of the Michael Jackson story on iPlayer, it’s quite interesting. I rarely watch television.
I want to sort out a bag of books for the charity collection on Wednesday, and I will also fill a bag of tins for the food bank collecting point in the village.
Best wishes to you all x

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where it’s dry at the moment.

We spent an enjoyable afternoon yesterday with DD and the children, it’s unusual for them all to be home at the same time and we thoroughly enjoyed their chat.

Friends who had been on a Dublin city break last week called in to tell us all about it in the evening, I had given them some ideas of what to see before they went so I was pleased that they had had a fabulous holiday.

Nothing exciting today, daft dug has an appointment with her groomer and Sainsbury’s will deliver the shopping.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a calm and fine Torbay.

Locally, the schools restart today although I know that elsewhere that happened last week. Fewer holidaymakers means easier parking nearby for a few weeks (maybe!)

Yesterday afternoon I attended an audition at The Little Theatre for a minor rôle in Yes, Prime Minister, which is the August production due for a two week run. A poor turnout means no decisions will be made until another round of auditions.

My exercise class restarts today after a two week break so I expect to be more creaky than usual later!

A pager for a play area sounds like an excellent idea, Bellasnana!

Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Hello, have not slept much but there’s still time because I don’t have any plans for the morning so I can stay in bed. This afternoon I am starting with an exercise group to help with balance issues and to prevent falls. Then to my daughters who has an infected foot and needs her dressing changed. (She has a learning disability and lives in a supported living flat.)

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but showers are forecast and a high of only 13°C.

I’m up at this ungodly hour because I’m walking L’il Miss into school and then home today as her childminder has booked the day off (Manchester marathon yesterday!). Teacher mummy is back in work today and preferred not to ask the HT for a late start after the holidays. Hats off to all you grans who provide this service on a regular basis!

Then as it’s the last day off school for the Boy Wonder I’ll go back to see him and suggest we get the bus to the Trafford Centre. I fancy a mooch around The White Company store but only a 👀 as not 100% sure yet of my incomings from Himself’s private pension provider. No monies have been paid into what was our joint account eight weeks on. When that happens I’ll be able to assess the accounts properly of incomings and outgoings.

That said my grandson will be delighted as I plan a KFC in the Orient Food Hall for our lunch - we share a love of this fast food chain!

Good morning from a chilly 2 degrees Cambridgeshire.

Today we plan to do a walk at a nature reserve we haven’t done for ages and will take our binoculars and do some birdwatching along route.

Hope you enjoyed your cycle ride yesterday Melanie We have had e - mountain bikes for many years and really enjoy getting out on them.

Hope everyone has a good day 🌷

grandMattie Mon 20-Apr-26 06:45:16

Good morning from Bristol. It’s a gorgeous day and promising - I hope this cold wind dies down!
I’ve only just woken up; I woke up at 430-ish as usual but fell asleep again. Must have needed it!
Tesco this morning, the final, probably vindictive (from the federation) WI meeting this afternoon. Not looking forward to it; I’m not a confrontation lover, tend to be a dove.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from a bright sunny S E Essex.

No gym this morning, I am meeting a friend for a coffee and catch up.

Picking up The Imp from school for his weekly sleepover, so I need to sort out dinner for all of us. He likes his around 5-5.30 we don’t eat until 7.30.

Have a good day 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from s somerset, sunny and cool today

A full day for me yesterday and was very happy at getting up that hill on my bike, first ride out this year and I can still do it, although I had to breathe hard. Washing for the line afterwards and easy gardening, all the transplanting is now done

Craft group later today and a bit of dusting, the wind brings dust in

I requested octopus to pay back some of my credit, they said it would take 7 days for them to decide to do this and another 7 days to get it back into my bank. I`m not happy so will be requesting a variable direct debit by e mail, when I will just pay my bill in full every month.

Windows are looking dusty today, might make a start on those after breakfast

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 20-Apr-26 06:55:13

I just experienced a prickle of sadness as I realised the last time I was asked to do this, Himself walked with me. Small realisations just pinch at me at times. I miss him terribly. 😢

Melanie61 Mon 20-Apr-26 06:58:51

Good morning from Sheffield

We very much enjoyed our bike ride. Because it was so flat and a beautiful day we did 25 miles, but it didn’t feel that far at all. There were plenty of people out.
I do like to see people enjoying life with their dogs, children and such.
I think back to lockdown when no one was about and how awful it was.

I will go in the garden rather than prayer group this morning and then working this afternoon

Where is grandMattie and Madeleine, I hope they are ok

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton - a lovely day for my birthday!!
No plans to see family as we went out to lunch last week for my birthday treat; and I am going out for lunch on Wednesday with my oldest friend whose birthday was last week. Shall just see what happens.

Had a good mooch around the shops yesterday; got almost everything on my list - plus a T-shirt from Matalan that wasn't! Finished with a coffee in Costa.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Gingster Mon 20-Apr-26 07:08:44

Good morning and yes we still have that chilly wind along with lovely sunny days.

Yesterday’s Titanic talk was ok. The first half fairly interesting but with too many details around sizes and weights of various boats. We stepped outside to stretch our legs in the sunshine for the 15 minute break and after, stayed another 10 minutes until my friend nudged me ‘have you had enough’. Yes!
308 people in attendance.

We didn’t get to walk around The Mount as friend has sciatica and was in some pain. Another day!

Today I’m meeting a gransnet pal for coffee and then doing a bit of shopping whilst in town.

I hope you all have a good day.🌺

harrigran Mon 20-Apr-26 07:11:39

Good morning from a dry NE for the present but rain is forecast and a high of 9°.
Yesterday was a quiet day so I started a new novel and plonked myself on the sofa. I almost managed one chapter before falling asleep. Annoyed with myself I went into the garden to get some fresh air.
DD rang for a chat, she has a bad cold and cough, she was on a work trip to Helsinki and she thinks she caught it on the plane.
Nothing planned for today.
Have the best day you can.

Redcar Mon 20-Apr-26 07:20:38

Good morning everyone from a sunny, dry and cold mid Essex. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day, but with a cool breeze. DD1 and family called in after the 7 year old’s swimming lesson, bringing a lunch with them! They went after about an hour and a half as they were due to be somewhere else at 2.00!
Carried on with weeding my very overgrown garden.

I have my Covid booster this morning, and nothing else planned for the day, but there’s plenty to do here if I can motivate myself to do it.

fgt flowers. I hope you have a pleasant wander round the Trafford Centre with the Boy Wonder! I think it took my DH’s former employers about three months to work out and start to pay his pension to me. It’s a frustrating wait and I hope it gets sorted out soon,

grandmattie I hope your WI meeting goes well today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

dragonfly46 Mon 20-Apr-26 07:21:24

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

We had lovely cake yesterday in the church next to the stately home but there was a dearth of bluebells.

Today we have our Covid jabs then a coffee at the local pub. We may be able to sit out.

Happy Birthday BlueSapphire.
FGT flowers.

Redcar Mon 20-Apr-26 07:22:40

Happy Birthday bluesapphire, I hope you have a lovely day! 🎂🥂

Greyduster Mon 20-Apr-26 07:26:07

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is 3 degrees and sunny. Going to be a dry day with high of 13.

Yesterday DD and her menfolk arrived to half past two and requested a walk before lunch ( which we never eat early anyway) so we did a round walk up through the reed bed and the birch wood. It was very enjoyable but they take no prisoners when they walk and I was tired when we got home and ache like the devil this morning. Lunch was very good🎺🎺 and because I never make a pudding when we have curry, we finished it off with salted caramel ice cream.

Today, when I have soothes my aches with a hot shower, I shall go to the post office in the village for stamps and then to the hardware shop next door. This afternoon, I have a short appointment with the chiropractor who will have put a treatment plan together after last week’s assessment.

FGT it’s a b****r when that happens.💐

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from another beautiful clear day in Cornwall. I booked my day trip to Scilly last night, which hilariously involves an overnight in the Premier Inn in Penzance and a convoluted train and bus journey home the next day, all for four hours on St Mary's, but it will be well worth it! I love the boat journey which takes nearly three hours.

Gingster my patio is simply a mish mash of plants that survive in four inches of soil because that's all they have. There was already ivy everywhere and I've trimmed and tied that into swags. Otherwise I've planted honeysuckle, pyracantha and box, which I've grown from Tesco seedlings and created topiary from them. I didn't invite the echium and wild garlic. Oh and there's a six foot high oak tree in a four inch pot which appeared from somewhere. How everything survives in such little soil is a wonder to me. The mirrors I didn't grow. 🤣
