Good morning all, the sun is streaming through the window, but it is only 2°C

Glad to hear more positive news of your brother, Gaga.

Susan, in April 1978, we had weather like this. We lived in Troon and everyday, I walked six month old DS in the pram. I ended up with both hands babdaged, I was so sensitive to the sun. So painful.

Painful feet are awful, GMB. I am living in trainers at the moment, when I want to wear my Imelda Marcus collection. Walking is so painful.

Yesterday turned out to be such a joyful day. We had an unannounced visit from Babydoll and DS2. The house has been too quiet, without her.
She spent the afternoon skidding in the water fountains. It gave DH such a boost.
She was glued to my side, but at one point disappeared into the house. Seeing Papa is OK, She said. You OK, Papa?.😪 Later on, my heart melted, when out of the blue, she said, Gaga, I'm happy. ♥️

Today I am going to Silverburn and have persuaded DH to come with me and have a coffee. I have promised not to shop. 😉

I went into the pharmacy yesterday and all the assistants gasped, when they saw my hair!
However, despite one lady saying, You always had beautiful hair, however, they thought it suited me. I wasn't convinced! 😄

I fished out a photo of my hair, from over twenty years ago, on the River City set I was a fan!😊) My hair is exactly the same. DH says I haven't aged at all. 😂

Thank you all for the support yesterday, for my self centred silliness.

Meant to post a photo!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we are set to have another bright day. Yesterday, after a slow start, the sun shone all day. The beech trees are just coming into leaf in the woods and my favourite sight is to see them sparkling in the sunlight, as if supported by nothing at all. That, and the carpet of bluebells, was a joy. I did a little gardening in the late afternoon.

I was supposed to have a covid jab at the local pharmacy today but it was cancelled. No idea why. DD suggested they may not either have the vaccine, or not enough of it. I have rebooked.

School this afternoon, but a short session today. I may get the mower out when I come home.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all. We are in Keswick today after arriving yesterday to celebrate our 49 th wedding anniversary. The sun was splitting the trees and we sat out in the early evening as if it was July. Can’t believe how the years have flown but here we are. Going for a jaunt around the lakes today fingers crossed that the weather holds have a good day all.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk although there seemed to be a frost before 6am…..known only because of an early morning visit to the loo. I had another hour and a half sleep after that.

I have my usual 6 weekly hair appt which is alway a chance to get all the local gossip from D and other customers in the salon.

I’m then heading off to our other nearby town to hand over my rucksack to the friend I met earlier in the week. She wants to try it out on a forthcoming train journey which involves a couple of changes. Now she is using a stick we thought it might be easier that having that in one hand and a case on wheels in the other.

I’m then off to meet another friend in a cafe for a late lunch so a lovely day in prospect. I hope all have something good to look forward to.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 24-Apr-26 07:50:31

Morning all from a sunny West Oxfordshire.

I am off shortly to listen to an Arts Society lecture in the next town. The parking is appalling so I will go early and have breakfast.

After lunch OH and I will go to our nearby NT property. It reopened at Easter but this is our first opportunity to visit. We will look at OH’s favourite Burne Jones mural in the house and finish with a cream tea. We will drive home via the beautiful bluebell woods. They are flowering a couple of weeks early this year.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a dry and sunny NE. It is 4° but expecting a high of 14 ° this afternoon.
Yesterday it was sunny all day but the wind was chilling.
I spent most of the day reading and fell ,asleep on the sofa again.
Today I am going out for lunch with my friend, enjoy catching up once a month.
Have a good day

Good morning from an overcast S E Essex.

The 11yr old has been fed (egg and bacon sandwich and fresh orange juice)

I shall go to the gym first thing, then I need to go to M & S Food Hall and Boots to find some little bits and bobs for DD’s birthday next week.

Out with friends this evening to an Italian restaurant, taxi is booked so we can have a glass of vino…

I do hope Madeleine is ok

(((hugs))) to all 🙋‍♀️

Good morning kitty and all.

Busy day today, I have to go to Sainsbury’s and from there walk to M&S as I forgot to pick up a parcel yesterday!
Pilates after that then taking a friend to the hospital to have the pins taken out of her foot.
In the meantime my cleaners are coming to work their magic.

Hoping everyone has a good day.

brook2704 Fri 24-Apr-26 07:39:27

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry sunny start to the day with 17° forecast for later
It’s the gym for me this morning, then I’m meeting a small group of ladies in town for a quick coffee. I’ll pop into M&S food for a few things and then get the bus home. Yesterday afternoon I saw one of my neighbours at the bus stop and we had a lovely chat on the bus back home.
Sorry to hear your feet are still sore grandmabatty so frustrating for you
Pleased to hear your uncles operation went so well Gagagran, hope his recovery is trouble free
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Jaxjacky Fri 24-Apr-26 07:37:51

Morning from a sunny S Hants, we have frost! I’m up early as MrJ is working.
Yesterday MrJ chased the pharmacy for me and went to the cashpoint, then off to bowls.
I spent sometime wandering the garden, a friend called for coffee, the day rounded off with a bbq for two.
How frustrating with your feet Grandmabatty.
I hope the poorlies have a better day and we all have some sun in our hearts.

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire. The forecast is good.

Today I have my usual shopping morning planned - pet shop, butcher's and Waitrose plus the post office. Aiming to sit down this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Redcar Fri 24-Apr-26 07:21:57

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s a cool 5 degrees and cloudy at the moment. Yesterday’s cloud cleared really quickly and I hope today will be the same. I went to the garden centre and bought the things I needed, but pushing the full trolley around was a real struggle and I wasn’t able to do much when I got home. Very frustrating as I had a list of tasks to do, all of which were quite energetic and needed a lot of bending! I’ll do some today hopefully!

Thinking of all those who are ill, stressed or worried today, hoping that life will improve for you.

Have the best day possible everyone - Friday again!

Gagagran Fri 24-Apr-26 07:21:47

Good Morning everyone from another sunny day here on the central south coast.

Well, so far so good about my brother in the Isle of Man. I heard from my niece late last night that he was back on the ward after a 7 hour operation. It seems they managed to get blood flowing through his legs to his feet again - such clever, skilled surgeons. She was allowed to see him for a few minutes but he was conked out of course. She is going again today and hopes for a progress report. It will not be easy for him living alone in a warden assisted flat but he is ex military and resourceful and has family support. Thank you for all your kind comments. It helped my anxiety a lot yesterday. Fingers crossed now for his recovery, which may take some time.

DH is out again with his cycling chums this morning. They are taking advantage of the lovely weather and will have a coffee and cake stop then home for lunch. I have a Tesco delivery this morning and need to do some desk tasks but not a lot on the agenda. The day will unfold as always.

Kind thoughts to everyone with burdens of any size. sunshine

RosesandLilac Fri 24-Apr-26 07:21:30

Good morning from a beautifully sunny spot in south Glos, the sun’s streaming through the window into the bedroom. The gardener is coming this morning, he’s tackling my back garden today.
I had an eventful day yesterday, my journey to the garage entailed a detour because of an overturned refuse lorry blocking a major roundabout en route. The detour was very pleasant, I haven’t used that road for probably 25 years!
I am going back to the garage next Wednesday to test drive a little automobile Aygo, it’s an older car but low mileage and in excellent condition. If I get on well with it that’s the one I will have. It’s being MOT’d and fully serviced.
Then back to the hairdresser, I have had the remains of my perm cut off so it’s very short! A Judi Dench /Annie Lennox cut😁 not that I look like either of them!
I’m rather pleased with it, it couldn’t be more low maintenance.
By the time I got home I had a splitting headache, it’s still lurking this morning.
A friend has asked me out on Monday, we’re off to see the daffodils at Dyrham, what a lovely treat! Looking forward to that.
I’m sending love and flowers to all who are struggling or sad, I hope today brings you some joy x

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex coast but it's obviously chilly as the boiler has just come on.

DH is being picked up at 10 by his friend to spend a couple of hours on the boat.
I need to go and buy numerous birthday cards, we have lots of family birthdays in May and June.
Wishing you all a lovely Friday xx

Marzipan22 Fri 24-Apr-26 07:09:18

Susan I've just been on a course of tablets where I had to avoid sunlight. It's a nuisance isn't it? I finished them yesterday, phew.

BlueSapphire Fri 24-Apr-26 07:08:45

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but we are forecast a sunny day. Yesterday was lovely but a very chilly wind; at least my washing dried on the line
.
I got all my indoor tasks done: cleaned the bathrooms, mopped the floors, vacuumed the bedrooms and then the stairs.

Dance classes this morning followed by coffee then a quiet rest of the day. I shall need to get the bus today as neither of the ladies who give me a lift are dancing today. I just have to leave 15 minutes earlier and must remember my bus pass, as I usually forget it!

Wishing all a pleasant Friday.

karmalady Fri 24-Apr-26 07:08:06

oops, I`ll be a ghost in 20028

Marzipan22 Fri 24-Apr-26 07:02:12

Good morning from a lovely bright, breezy Cornwall. While I was on my patio swing seat a robin flew by so close that his wings made a breeze on my cheek. How beautiful is that. 🥰

No painting yesterday, plans changed so I had a lazy afternoon watching a film. Earlier I'd been to see my friend's painting in the art exhibition and felt very proud of her as the standard was extremely high. Late last night my daughter-in-law messaged me about her council tax form. Being dyspraxic makes it hard for her to deal with paperwork.

Today it's coffee with my best pal on Wetherspoons lovely roof garden then I'm off to collect my youngest grandson from school and 'sit' him till his dad finishes work. Home by around 7o'clock via the bus that virtually passes their gate.

karmalady Fri 24-Apr-26 07:01:07

Good morning from very sunny s somerset, cold easterly wind again

It was glorious on the allotment yesterday and there was a battle between dahlias and rhubarb on my plot, the 6 dahlias won and are now planted. The rhubarb roots are all out and skipped, I don`t eat rhubarb anyway, I got carried away buying them

I observed my new asparagus, only one has not thrown a new stem from 10 roots, it is early days I have to wait until 20028 before I can start picking the spears and this year they will establish and develop roots

Organic delivery has arrived, oops I forgot to organise the fridge ready, I have just done that

I do want to sit outside today and must have some exercise too I am going to put my outdoor recliner on my sun trap patio and have my book handy, exercise will be a walk and/or bouncing on my rebounder.

First, the early morning chat with family, everyone is an early riser

glammagran Fri 24-Apr-26 06:59:09

Good morning from Wiltshire.

Yesterday we were back at Bowood. We had a long walk in the wooded area and ate sandwiches on a bench by the lake near the grotto. After the school Easter Holidays it was very quiet. Then some gardening in the late afternoon while it’s fine.

Today will be busy visiting several shops and doing collections/returns from Next and M&S. DD2 and family are going on holiday to Turkey tomorrow. The GCs will be wild with excitement.

I hope your brother is ok today Gagagran. 💐So sorry to hear about your dear friend WhiteSwan💐

Enjoy the sun today everyone.

Grandmabatty Fri 24-Apr-26 06:54:47

Thank you Susan. Other folk on here have it worse but it's very depressing

Usedtobeblonde Fri 24-Apr-26 06:53:03

Good morning from Stockport, sunny but chilly at 3 degrees.
I had a painful arm last night by 10 pm but two paracetamol worked their magic and although it was sore in the night after that it didn’t keep me awake, just sore still this morning but ok.
Today my GD and her BF work from home so I keep a low profile and may sit in the garden later.
I hope you all find some sunshine in your day.
I hope Madeleine is ok.
