Good morning from a dry Bristol.
It is chilly at 4C, but will shoot up to 19C in the late afternoon. I find it impossible to know what to wear, changing my clothes at least twice a day. Yes I know about layering, but a 15 degree variation is a lot!
Yesterday went back to its normal pattern: cleaning, t’ai chi, then dinner at DD’s. I had a long chat with DGD about her trip to Paris with her mum. They went to see my favourite “lady and the unicorn” tapestries, which blew her away. DH was quite unmoved by them!
Today, my Spanish classes resume. In the afternoon, I’m helping set up and sort the stuff for a clothes exchange, part of the Eco Fair taking place in the church tomorrow afternoon. I am NOT getting involved in baking, or catering, or serving refreshments!
Hugs to all of you. Have a peaceful Friday. Carpe diem 🦩🌺🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where a cloudy start is forecast with a chance of dirty rain, sunny later with a high of 23°C.

Thank you for your kind comments about my nails yesterday after the photos eventually loaded!😄

I went out to buy a new light fitting for the boys’ playroom. The huge store had only one other customer that I could see and a shortage of assistants. I found one and asked her for help but she almost shouted at me for interrupting her shelf-stacking and was quite brusque and not much help at all. I hope the one I chose will look ok.

Called at Lidl and bought milk and a few necessities, also a couple of plants. Poor things don’t realise their days are now numbered.

I was so tired after not sleeping well that I had a nap then woke feeling groggy. I wish I could get back to sleeping through the night.

I’ve got my hair today and the boys this afternoon . How is it Friday again already? The weeks just fly so quickly, it scares me to be honest.😰

Thinking of you all, hoping you have a good day, hugs for anyone who needs one.🤗

Good morning from a dry and getting light N Surrey. The flight of the days is very scary I agree Bellasnana. Something that seems like 2 days ago is 5. And here we are racing towards half way through the year.
What to wear today? I start off with a waem blouse..thick cotton... with a wool sweater and socks. Trousers, scarf and down jacket and sunglasses. Then later sweater, scarf and socks off. Socks make such a difference. Warm you up when just a bit chilly and then off with them when its getting too warm.
Another wash load of bedding today which will dry quickly and a book back to the library this morning. Then a couple of hours in the garden. My hardy fuschias are coming up well in tubs and they are now several years old. I am resisting buying any new plants this year. A medium sized flower bed needs digging over and I will plant up with existing dry, weather plants from my patio pots. I expect we will have another long hot spell again this summer.

I so hope we hear from Madeleine today. Has anyone heard from her?

grandMattie Fri 24-Apr-26 06:17:31

I pm-ed her a couple of days ago, Helter but she hasn’t replied.
Why don’t you take cuttings of your fuchsias? they take easily, then you won’t need to buy new one…

Good morning from a bright blue skied Black Country, after a gloriously sunny day yesterday!

Have two appointments this morning. Covid Jab at Boots, which cost almost £100! Then an appointment with audiology for a change of tubes. Going to ask if I am due a hearing test, as I am certain my hearing has gone down, as I struggle hearing people talking on my walks. They only do hearing test every 5 years, so I think I am due one either now or next year.

How rude of that assistant Bellas. I would have gone elsewhere!

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.

What a glorious day we had yesterday. The sunshine was most welcome.

A couple of lengths of trellis which had rotted needed to be replaced so yesterday we picked up sturdier versions from a local fencing supplier. DH fitted them to the fence but managed to scrape the top of his head on a tree branch in the process. Amazing how much blood a small cut can produce.

In the afternoon I spent a pleasant couple of hours sitting in the sun crocheting and listening to my audiobook

I’ve a nail appointment this morning but they’ll be quite plain, unlike the work of art Bella has.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and misty. I'm sure it will burn off later. Bellasnana how rude of that assistant! GrandMattie good for you, saying no to catering help.
Yesterday I cleaned all the windows and mirrors in the house which made me happy. I have a housewife's soul. I rested in the afternoon as my feet are still very painful and swollen- not as much as last week though. I didn't see anyone but had lots of messages from the family and a friend.
Today I'll do a washing and hang it out before I head to the school library for an hour. Then home to potter in the garden, I think. I might make a vegetable lasagne for dinner as I have ratatouille in the freezer that needs used. Have a good day all.

HelterSkelter1 Fri 24-Apr-26 06:45:48

I haven't tried fuschia cuttings which I will do this year grandMattie. I have been successful with sedum, lavender, rosemary, hydrangea and rose cuttings which have filled many patio pots and tubs and will use these to fill the flower bed once I have dug up the weeds.

I pass the outdoor plant section of Waitrose every day and it is tempting. But I have and will resist. I have enough and will just enjoy looking.

Good morning from N Norfolk where we have the thickest frost I have seen in avery long time today we leave our little cottage for a weekend in a local hotel so that DH can attend to train matters. I am looking forward to enjoying two days of luxury
Best wishes to all

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day forecast.

I too have a housewife’s soul Grandmabatty.Yesterday after my usual housework I popped into town which was very disappointing then dropped a bag of toys at the charity shop then a Sainsbury’s shop.DH has made great progress on clearing the garage. We will do a couple of tip trips today.

I was disappointed by a phone call from the dr who wants me to go back on the tablets which mean I have to avoid bright sunlight. He will review in a month.

Grandmabatty I am sorry your feet are still so painful.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🌷🦩

Good morning from the East Coast. It’s going to be a lovely day today.

Yesterday after my hair done I picked up DGS from school I gave them a social story about our trip away with photos to show GS everyday so he knows where we are and when we are home. I always stress about him missing us while we are away. He has got a place in a special school from September. It’s a 45 minute drive each way but he will get council transport. There is nothing close but I suppose he’s lucky to get a place at all. I don’t know how he was at school as his teacher was too busy complimenting my waves I’d had put in my hair.

We had a lovely meal out with our other best friends. We all chatted about our friend and sharing our grief and had a picture taken raising a glass to him. It was very muted though and our friend had said he didn’t feel like celebrating his birthday.

Today is dedicated to packing. I’d already got my clothes out and tried on and put in a pile. I’m a chronic overpacker but it’s all light floaty stuff as it’s going to be so hot though DSs shopping list is getting ever bigger. 4 boxes of Tunnocks tea cakes for one of his English teacher friends.

Wishing you all a lovely day with moments of joy🌼
Thoughts to virtual friends suffering, stress, sadness and illness💐

Good morning from Stockport, sunny but chilly at 3 degrees.
I had a painful arm last night by 10 pm but two paracetamol worked their magic and although it was sore in the night after that it didn’t keep me awake, just sore still this morning but ok.
Today my GD and her BF work from home so I keep a low profile and may sit in the garden later.
I hope you all find some sunshine in your day.
I hope Madeleine is ok.

Grandmabatty Fri 24-Apr-26 06:54:47

Thank you Susan. Other folk on here have it worse but it's very depressing

glammagran Fri 24-Apr-26 06:59:09

Good morning from Wiltshire.

Yesterday we were back at Bowood. We had a long walk in the wooded area and ate sandwiches on a bench by the lake near the grotto. After the school Easter Holidays it was very quiet. Then some gardening in the late afternoon while it’s fine.

Today will be busy visiting several shops and doing collections/returns from Next and M&S. DD2 and family are going on holiday to Turkey tomorrow. The GCs will be wild with excitement.

I hope your brother is ok today Gagagran. 💐So sorry to hear about your dear friend WhiteSwan💐

Enjoy the sun today everyone.

Good morning from very sunny s somerset, cold easterly wind again

It was glorious on the allotment yesterday and there was a battle between dahlias and rhubarb on my plot, the 6 dahlias won and are now planted. The rhubarb roots are all out and skipped, I don`t eat rhubarb anyway, I got carried away buying them

I observed my new asparagus, only one has not thrown a new stem from 10 roots, it is early days I have to wait until 20028 before I can start picking the spears and this year they will establish and develop roots

Organic delivery has arrived, oops I forgot to organise the fridge ready, I have just done that

I do want to sit outside today and must have some exercise too I am going to put my outdoor recliner on my sun trap patio and have my book handy, exercise will be a walk and/or bouncing on my rebounder.

First, the early morning chat with family, everyone is an early riser

Marzipan22 Fri 24-Apr-26 07:02:12

Good morning from a lovely bright, breezy Cornwall. While I was on my patio swing seat a robin flew by so close that his wings made a breeze on my cheek. How beautiful is that. 🥰

No painting yesterday, plans changed so I had a lazy afternoon watching a film. Earlier I'd been to see my friend's painting in the art exhibition and felt very proud of her as the standard was extremely high. Late last night my daughter-in-law messaged me about her council tax form. Being dyspraxic makes it hard for her to deal with paperwork.

Today it's coffee with my best pal on Wetherspoons lovely roof garden then I'm off to collect my youngest grandson from school and 'sit' him till his dad finishes work. Home by around 7o'clock via the bus that virtually passes their gate.

karmalady Fri 24-Apr-26 07:08:06

oops, I`ll be a ghost in 20028

BlueSapphire Fri 24-Apr-26 07:08:45

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton, but we are forecast a sunny day. Yesterday was lovely but a very chilly wind; at least my washing dried on the line
.
I got all my indoor tasks done: cleaned the bathrooms, mopped the floors, vacuumed the bedrooms and then the stairs.

Dance classes this morning followed by coffee then a quiet rest of the day. I shall need to get the bus today as neither of the ladies who give me a lift are dancing today. I just have to leave 15 minutes earlier and must remember my bus pass, as I usually forget it!

Wishing all a pleasant Friday.

Marzipan22 Fri 24-Apr-26 07:09:18

Susan I've just been on a course of tablets where I had to avoid sunlight. It's a nuisance isn't it? I finished them yesterday, phew.

Sar53 Fri 24-Apr-26 07:18:20

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex coast but it's obviously chilly as the boiler has just come on.

DH is being picked up at 10 by his friend to spend a couple of hours on the boat.
I need to go and buy numerous birthday cards, we have lots of family birthdays in May and June.
Wishing you all a lovely Friday xx

RosesandLilac Fri 24-Apr-26 07:21:30

Good morning from a beautifully sunny spot in south Glos, the sun’s streaming through the window into the bedroom. The gardener is coming this morning, he’s tackling my back garden today.
I had an eventful day yesterday, my journey to the garage entailed a detour because of an overturned refuse lorry blocking a major roundabout en route. The detour was very pleasant, I haven’t used that road for probably 25 years!
I am going back to the garage next Wednesday to test drive a little automobile Aygo, it’s an older car but low mileage and in excellent condition. If I get on well with it that’s the one I will have. It’s being MOT’d and fully serviced.
Then back to the hairdresser, I have had the remains of my perm cut off so it’s very short! A Judi Dench /Annie Lennox cut😁 not that I look like either of them!
I’m rather pleased with it, it couldn’t be more low maintenance.
By the time I got home I had a splitting headache, it’s still lurking this morning.
A friend has asked me out on Monday, we’re off to see the daffodils at Dyrham, what a lovely treat! Looking forward to that.
I’m sending love and flowers to all who are struggling or sad, I hope today brings you some joy x
🌹

Good Morning everyone from another sunny day here on the central south coast.

Well, so far so good about my brother in the Isle of Man. I heard from my niece late last night that he was back on the ward after a 7 hour operation. It seems they managed to get blood flowing through his legs to his feet again - such clever, skilled surgeons. She was allowed to see him for a few minutes but he was conked out of course. She is going again today and hopes for a progress report. It will not be easy for him living alone in a warden assisted flat but he is ex military and resourceful and has family support. Thank you for all your kind comments. It helped my anxiety a lot yesterday. Fingers crossed now for his recovery, which may take some time.

DH is out again with his cycling chums this morning. They are taking advantage of the lovely weather and will have a coffee and cake stop then home for lunch. I have a Tesco delivery this morning and need to do some desk tasks but not a lot on the agenda. The day will unfold as always.

Kind thoughts to everyone with burdens of any size. sunshine

Redcar Fri 24-Apr-26 07:21:57

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s a cool 5 degrees and cloudy at the moment. Yesterday’s cloud cleared really quickly and I hope today will be the same. I went to the garden centre and bought the things I needed, but pushing the full trolley around was a real struggle and I wasn’t able to do much when I got home. Very frustrating as I had a list of tasks to do, all of which were quite energetic and needed a lot of bending! I’ll do some today hopefully!

Thinking of all those who are ill, stressed or worried today, hoping that life will improve for you.

Have the best day possible everyone - Friday again!

kittylester Fri 24-Apr-26 07:29:07

Good morning all from a misty North Leicestershire. The forecast is good.

Today I have my usual shopping morning planned - pet shop, butcher's and Waitrose plus the post office. Aiming to sit down this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.
