Good Morning Tuesday 28th April 2026
(48 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry and will soon be daylight here in Brackley this morning.
Slight change of routine plan to get a earlier bus , have a coffee and then go and get my haircut before I shop ,and hopefully say hello to those people I know.
Health OK,
Take Care ,
Mick
A rather late morning all from West Oxfordshire - I’ve been up since 8 am, honest!
I have birthday presents to wrap and cards to write.
It rained last night although rain is not forecast until the weekend. I suppose the gardens and lawns need it,
I am off to see friends this afternoon. OH is nervous about seeing his bees. He may put it off until tomorrow. They are very aggressive at the moment and some of his bee keeping friends have lost whole hives. We have a special hive in our garden to catch swarms. He has caught a few over the years and handed them over to friends who have become bee-less.
Have a good day everyone. I hope those sunny days will return.
Melanie 🤣
Good morning!
Here in our part of Essex it’s cold and grey, nothing like the glorious weather of the last few days ☹️☹️☹️
Out to dinner tonight with a very old and dear friend, with her daughter, my dearest god-daughter, who has recently returned from a two year stint in the Middle East working as a children’s nurse, specialising in teenage cancer. Thank goodness she arrived home around a week before the Iran war!
Oh R&L 😢 this waiting is torture for you it seems cavalier and cruel to give such a diagnosis and then just leave you with that knowledge, fretting. And then to have to cancel your painting holiday.
Soon dear lady, I hope 🤞
Good morning everyone from a cloudy and overcast Northampton, very.disappointing not to see the sun! We may.get some this afternoon apparently.
Had a good first session at the podiatrist yesterday; problem nails efficiently dealt with and hard skin removed from my feet. I thought I had a fungal infection on one toenail, but he said it was water ingress, getting under the nail and to put Vicks vapour rub on it before showering! He must know what he's on about as he is a consultant NHS podiatrist at a hospital and runs this little private practice locally. He was certainly busy yesterday afternoon. I will book to see him again in a couple of months.
Cut the back grass when I got back and avoided the rain; I plan to tackle the weeds this afternoon - they are multiplying daily. I really must find a new gardener.
Sorry you are having to wait so long Roses; it really is unacceptable.
Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.
Good morning everyone from Wiltshire.
I tried to post yesterday but lost it. Happened later on Sunday too when I tried to send birthday wishes to LLFL. I hope you had a lovely lunch out with your OH. 🍾🎂.
We had a lovely time on Sunday with DS and his family. GS1 is 15 and GD2 is 12 GS1 brought his lovely GF too. They were all very chatty and stayed off their phones. We ate the guard of honour lamb racks which had been in the freezer since Christmas.
Yesterday we did a lot of gardening again. Still have dahlias and gladioli’s to plant but I can only do little and often with a painful hip, back and shoulder.
Have a good day all.
Great photos this morning ladies! I love the fact that we share stuff.
GMB, my school had two disabled bays, one put in for me (I couldn't climb the very steep hill) and one for parents with disabilities to drop off their children.
It could be worth inquiring.
You may not park across driveways, but many do. It happens daily at Dollie's school. There is always an alteraction of some sort.
Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast. I enjoyed yesterday, the folk club sing a round in the afternoon was fun, with a mix of songs. After that a little shopping and a quiet evening in, making an effort to go to bed earlier. I’m a night bird and have to force myself to bed, unless I drop off watching tv.
Some forgotten shares taken out by my late DH have been realised and more to come, so that’s handy. My DD helps me keep on top of these things. My excuse being I’m “arty”😁. As a child, a dreamer and in a world of my own.
To the usual Tuesday music club this afternoon. I’m on the desk and I have new coloured lights to festoon it with. Now to decide what to sing. I’ve been practising an Italian song of old, but I don’t think it’s quite there yet.
Thoughts to RosesandLilac and all🌺
Greyduster, we used to go to Wirlow Brook park very often. I remember going there when I was a week overdue with my first son to have a good long walk to see if it did anything. Worked like a charm , my waters broke that night
Marydoll I do sympathise with the homeowners. However the school was built at a time when fewer people have cars, so parking is not easy. I never park over a driveway, in fact I havent seen anyone who does. The owner of a truck and car park in the only spaces directly outside the school and they don't actually live in the street but the next one down! The school doesn't have disabled parking at all, as far as I can see.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Dreich looking today after such a row of sunny days.
I'm hoping that all the things planned for yesterday will happen today. The gypsy caravan will go to a new home. The book collector will collect some books and now a woman from the historical society will look at my local memorabilia and also take photos of this house before it's sold.
I bought a birthday present for my DS and now I need to post it I can't find it!
Lovely photos Greyduster and nice stories about the medals Gagagran.
I feel so sorry and cross on your behalf Rosesandlilac for the endless delay before you are even seen!
Hope everyone has some joy today.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry at present but looks chilly out with total white cloud cover.
I slept well last night after an emotional day where so many things reminded me of Himself and I cried for most of it on my own at home. It ebbs and flows but when it hits it really hurts.
I’m being picked up by my wonderfully thoughtful brother in law and his wife soon. They asked if I’d like to join them for breakfast at a garden centre. Perfect way to lift me out of myself as I never turn down any invitation I’m lucky to receive.
Now to read the thread with my TiB. x
Morning from a cloudy S Hants, very lush pictures Greyduster, great your family WW items have a good home Gagagran a job well done.
I must do my stats from the phone yesterday, walk later, MrJ out to bowls this evening.
🦩🦩
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 10°C.
Another bad night, painwise, my eyes were watering with the pain in my legs.
I have no idea, why I am having such a bad flare up. The only reason I can think of, is that I am worrying about DH's health. Stress always sets it off.
GMB, have you not considered applying for a Blue Badge, if you have mobility issues? It would mean, easier parking for you, without fear of a parking fine.
To be honest, I can empathise with the home owners. We used to live near a school and parents often blocked driveways, with their selfish parking. They didn't care.
My own school, eventually had double yellow lines painted, after two children were knocked down.
Yesterday, we dropped more bags at the Salvation Army. There will be more to come. However, I don't see me making much inroads into my mega wardrobe, despite being ruthless.
This morning DH has suggested we go out to our favourite Italian cafe in Paisley. He is looking for liners for his hanging baskets and there is a shop he likes to visit and pick up useless junk.
The begonias (he us obsessed with them) are now available in the local nursery, but it is too early for us. There is always a frost here in May.
He is still unable to drive, but instead of me driving, we are going to take the bus, because parking is nigh on impossible.
I'm just pleased he is getting some exercise, but I am on tenterhooks all the time.
I had a dreadfully embarrassing moment at church yesterday.
We have Exposition of the Blessed Sacramt after Mass, and people come to pray or just sit quietly. There is not a single sound, total silence.
I have a Tile tracker on my church keys, (the keys to the Kingdom,), for I am always losing them, I could feel them vibrating slightly. Before I could do anything, the Tile alarm on my phone went off.
Think of a very loud fire alarm going off and echoing round an empty room.
I couldn't get it to stop. It happened on Sunday too.
I was absolutely horrified, as were those deep in prayer! I ran to the sacristy, but the door had jammed. 😱 I am such a noticebox! I couldn't look anyone in the eye, as I left.
I think my BP may have been higher than DH's at that point. 😂
I wish you all a pleasant day.
rosesandlilac so sorry to hear it’s such slow progress, I really feel for you, especially having to cancel your holiday too, sending a gentle hug ❤️
Good morning from a dull Suffolk with signs of a little drizzle overnight.
DD2 was born 43 years ago but we shan’t see her as they live a couple of hundred miles away. Her DH is buying her a tent( her request) as she hopes to take the children away for a few days camping in the summer holidays so we’ve bought her camping gear.
DH used to do that with our children to local sites every summer and those trips were some of their favourite holiday activities.
We meanwhile will go out here for coffee and cake and raise a cup to her. She will be at work and celebrating with her family this evening.
Hope today is an easy one for all.
Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy Morecambe Bay.
Today’s plans include a walk in the woods, a visit to the practice nurse who will check my ears and hopefully refer me for a full hearing test, (I’m fed up of saying “ sorry can you say that again”)
and the application of some wet and forget to our driveway. I’ve spent several sessions removing moss from the block paving. Hopefully the wet and forget will keep the moss down in the future.
DH will cut a ladies grass and tomorrow or later today I will go over and edge it and weed her rockery. At some point I will try and sort out some buildings insurance for DS’s house. There’s no way he could cope with doing this himself.
Hoping for some positive news from absent posters and those with problems. Take care everyone.
Good morning from Shropshire.A dull start but due to brighten up later.
We had an enjoyable day yesterday.Lunch out then a stroll around town.It is nice having time to enjoy these simple things. The last eighteen months dealing with illness and sorting Mum’s house took more time and energy than we had realised.
Today DH has his exercise class.I will catch up with laundry and house stuff then spend the afternoon reading, my favourite pastime.
Hoping RosesandLilac has heard from the hospital and that Marydoll had a better day.
Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌷
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. A cloudy start to the day here and we had a shower yesterday evening. A drizzly morning is forecast, with sun later. I did more gardening yesterday, have cleared one of the flower beds of weeds, it’s full of nigella (self seeded) with a few foxgloves so will be pretty in a few weeks time.
Nothing planned for this morning, but will probably go for a walk and do some ironing. I’ll see my friend with dementia this afternoon.
Thinking of those who are struggling at the moment.
Have as good a day as is possible everyone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright and sunny start to the day, better than yesterday which was showery
Beautiful pictures Greyduster thanks for sharing
How lovely that the WW1 items are going to a museum Gagagran well done
It’s my usual Tuesday routine with a couple of classes at the gym, coffee with pals, a walk by the river and then the bus home. I’ve done it all lots of times before but it’s always enjoyable
Sad news about your previous priest Ash, he sounds like a very kind caring man
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from south Glos, it’s a very grey sky here, chilly too.
My friend had muddled her days up yesterday so we’re off to Dyrham this morning, looking forward to seeing the tulips. I’m sure coffee and cake will feature too.
I had a phoned call from the hospital, my PET CT results will be discussed at next week’s MDT. The waiting is really getting me down now, it’s 9 weeks since I was told and still no action. Apparently I will get a call after the MDT and an appointment to discuss at the hospital will be sometime during the following 2 weeks….
I’ve cancelled my painting holiday, the final payment was due yesterday. The deposit was non refundable 🤷🏼♀️
I weighed myself just now, I’ve lost 8 lbs since February, it’s just as well there’s plenty of me!
Take care everyone, thinking of those with troubles or sadness x
🌹
Good morning, The Imp is eating his breakfast, then it’s a quick wash, teeth clean and dressed before school at 8am.
It’s DD’s birthday (his mum) today. We are going out for Brunch.
If the sun comes out and it’s as warm as yesterday we shall sit in the courtyard of the local cafe (really good, independent and licensed for wine, fizz and beer)
