Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry and will soon be daylight here in Brackley this morning.
Slight change of routine plan to get a earlier bus , have a coffee and then go and get my haircut before I shop ,and hopefully say hello to those people I know.
Health OK,
Take Care ,
Mick

Good morning from an overcast Bristol. No sun today apparently.
I was sorry to learn about your ex-vicar, ash. I hope you have some news today, r&l; md, may your day be less complicated…
The residents have been waiting with bated breath (not) for the painting of the estate to begin. It has been postponed from 2023. Supposed to have been done in February (!) then the scaffolding was to be put up last week and the painting started this week…. Exactly!
I got some potting compost from Tesco yesterday and took advantage of the good weather to repot some house plants, and some of my big pots outside. I’ve put in some sweet peas, underplanted with lettuce; and got a couple of pots ready for baby tomatoes. I was very successful with them last year. I’ve gone plant of red, one of yellow and shall try to get one orange when the local shop gets them.
Today is quiet. Im shall make a load of biscuits for next week’s live FAB cace concert, some for tomorrow and cake as well.

Good morning from a brightening Cornwall where a beady eye is coveting my breakfast snack. Litterpicker those echium yesterday were magnificent!

Yesterday was another day of painting at my daughter-in-law's new place and as I got there before her I met her lovely, elderly, housebound neighbour who was sitting at her door in her wheelchair and called hello as I walked past. They will get on wonderfully as they are both chatterboxes.

Today I've arranged a coffee meet-up for five of my friends who for years were a weekly prayer group but our lives have gone in different directions. Getting us to meet nowadays is like herding cats, you'd never think we live in the same town, but it will be so lovely to catch up. After that, a bus ride to more painting. I have a key to the new home and can start ahead of my daughter-in-law if she's running late.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and cloudy. GrandMattie a busy day baking ahead for you. Ashcombe I was sorry to hear the news about your former priest. Bellasnana I hope you had a decent sleep last night.
Yesterday went well. The boys were happy and had a good day at school/nursery. I came home for a nap, then made meatballs in a tomato sauce for dinner. After lunch, I went back to the school to work in the library before I picked up the boys again. The parking at the school is dire. The residents have decided to protest against people parking and they are all parking in the street instead of their drive, including a truck. This makes it difficult for us with mobility issues. So yesterday I had to park on yellow lines. Hopefully today won't be too difficult. Dgs2 was delighted with his handwriting book and kept thanking me. He got to work on it right away. Dgs1 looked a bit disconsolate until we ordered a football book and a new indoor ball to arrive today. Dgs2 and I played shops for a while then played hairdressers. He has a great imagination.
Last night wasn't a great night. I was up frequently and my feet were bothering me hence the early post. I'll pick up the boys and bring them to my house before taking them to school. Then I'm going to drop off a birthday present at a friend's house later this morning. After that, I will collect the boys snd bring them to my house again for an hour or so before taking them home. Then I will tidy the mayhem left and collapse. Have a good day all.

Marzipan the gulls here are ferocious and wouldn't hesitate to pinch food!

Greyduster Tue 28-Apr-26 05:58:06

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A grey and gusty start to the day in South Yorkshire. 7 degrees outside.

Yesterday was chiropodist, admin and chiropractor, but on the way home from the latter, as it was still dry, I managed to call in at the nearby Whinfell Quarry Garden - a beautiful series of planted terraces. I didn’t venture onto the upper walkways yesterday but there was enough to see. Beautiful acers and some rhododendrons and azaleas in flower but more still to come when it will be a riot of colour. It’s basically a huge rock garden and I adore rock gardens. It’s maintained entirely by volunteers.

Today will be mostly ironing, housework and a session at school this afternoon. I hope to walk there but it’s looking unlikely at the moment.

Greyduster Tue 28-Apr-26 05:59:37

Well, it didn’t post my photos. Sorry, folks!

Marzipan22 Tue 28-Apr-26 06:06:07

Grandmabatty same here but they need swooping room and can't take off from my patio which is why all they can do is sit on the roof and watch!

Bellasnana Tue 28-Apr-26 06:12:29

Good morning from Malta. Sunny and 25°C again.

The plumber arrived promptly yesterday and after about half an hour my leaky loo was fixed. Only charged me €60 which I thought very reasonable as it included a part which had to be replaced.

I’m meeting a friend and her partner who are over here from the U.K. I am always grateful when friends keep in touch and find time to meet up. We go back a long way and both lost our husbands to the same type of cancer within two years of each other. She has since met someone else who seems very kind and caring so I’m happy for her.

Sad news regarding your former priest, Ashcombe. God works in mysterious ways. Difficult to understand at times.😞

Thank you Grandmabatty, still a bit up and down then I had a strange dream which I have now totally forgotten!😂 I’m sorry your night was disturbed. Make sure you have a rest later. You do so much.💐

Hoping you all find some joy in your days. ☀️

Greyduster Tue 28-Apr-26 06:17:11

I’ll have another go.

Good morning from Sheffield

Greyduster, It must be 20 years since I visited Whinfell Gardens . A lovely little hidden gem. I may have to revisit now you’ve put it in my mind
Just a quick one this morning .I’ve got to be up . We have a bulky waste collection coming from the council so I’ve got to help shift a sofa and a table on to the drive

I have bedding to put back on and general tidying up after the boys this weekend. Then a volunteer session at teatime

It’s looking a bit grim out there
Take care everyoneflowers

Greyduster Tue 28-Apr-26 06:31:10

Melanie if you do go, take in Whirlow Brook Park next door while you’re there.

Gagagran Tue 28-Apr-26 06:35:07

Good Morning all from the central south coast. Not as sunny this morning but a lovely sky with stripes of cloud lit by the sun which is making its appearance. We do get beautiful skies here.

Yesterday was a fruitful one and both DH's visit to the valuation session at our local sports club and my dealings with the regimental museum were productive.

DH sold his silver threepenny bits - some dating back to Queen Victoria with her bun hairstyle, for hundreds of pounds . (I had guessed £50). He was very pleased!

The lovely curator at the museum asked me to send photos of the items I had from my WW1 veteran relation and I did so. He was delighted with them and described the collection as "fantastic". He said he would be delighted to accept them and would I like to donate in person? Unfortunately, being on the south coast and 180 miles away, with our age and health issues, that is not feasible. So I have arranged a tracked delivery by Royal Mail and they will collect the parcel this afternoon. I feel huge peace of mind and satisfaction that the medals and memorabilia will be cared for now and given the respect they deserve.

Today, our new window cleaner is coming to do a trial session and we are going to Tesco early for a hobble round to spend a £20 voucher DH has, before it runs out. He is going to stock up on some beer and cider and I want bananas and bread and salad. Our normal weekly delivery will be coming on Friday but the voucher has to be used in store.

Providing I can manage it, we shall go to the garden centre this afternoon to get plants to fill my pots which are ready and waiting for new occupants. Must be back in time for the parcel collection by our lovely postie too.

Kind thoughts as ever to all with struggles and burdens to carry and hope for a better day for everyone. sunshine

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy all day and a big drop in temperature but not cold

I got on with clothes clearing yesterday, just bit the bullet and cleared 3 bags of good sellable clothes to the salvation army, It wasn`t easy but needed to be done. Later I dragged six very heavy enormous pots, to make room for new sun shading. on my patio The pots all contain blueberries and two are about 10 years old, very productive plants

Today I have no set plans but will take a walk this morning and sort my fridge and really do want to get on with some spinning. It might be the perfect day to take my spinning wheel outside. I am thinking I will also drive my car to a car hand wash, it is a 20 miles round trip.

Gingster Tue 28-Apr-26 06:57:28

Good morning all. It’s looking rather dull here in Essex, after so many lovely mornings with bright sunshine. Drizzle expected today.,

Had a lovely day yesterday, Chiming and lunch with our friendly group celebrating teachers 80th.

Today we have shelves being fitted in the conservatory for our large collection of quirky teapots., They were displayed at our seaside cottage and I wasn’t sure where they would fit in here, but we’ll soon see.

Bridge this afternoon and I must remember to take a jacket that I mistakenly took last week, belonging to another member and she has mine. 🙄.

Take care all. 🌺

Ashcombe Tue 28-Apr-26 07:10:14

Good morning from a brightish Torbay with a breeze which has been absent for a few days.

I very much appreciate your kind words about our ailing former priest yesterday and today. He was a wonderful example of a caring, pastoral leader who was always at my door or hospital bed when I’d been ill. His sermons were inspirational, reflecting his wealth of scriptural knowledge and would be delivered without reference to notes. His wife has told us it will likely be a matter of weeks.

Yesterday morning, before my exercise class, I had my Covid vaccination so felt slightly unwell in the evening and was glad of DH's culinary skills! A stiff arm this morning but I’ll cope.
Wishing everyone as good a day as possible. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

Good morning from cool South Lanarkshire. Last night felt really chilly.

Sorry to hear about your former priest Ash, such sad news.

I collected a couple of things from M&S yesterday but they will both be going back as neither feel they will earn their keep.

I’ve an appointment to have my eyebrows tinted and tidied then on to the shop for my volunteering shift.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a very dull Leicestershire.
I am up early after a restless night.

Yesterday’s meeting up with the other GNs was very enjoyable.

Today we are meeting up with friends for coffee then NWR this evening.

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

ginny Tue 28-Apr-26 07:16:32

Good morning from N. Bucks. Not sure what the weather will do today.
We arrived home from our cruise yesterday midday. We enjoyed every minute .
All the laundry was done in the afternoon so at some point I’ll try to do some ironing.
I have a manicure appointment this morning and then will be meeting friends for lunch . After school finishes we shall pop round to see DGSs 2 &3.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

luluaugust Tue 28-Apr-26 07:26:34

Good morning from a slightly damp W Kent. I am going for a bra fitting this morning, nothing seems to fit nowadays I can only try. I may go a bit mad and use the walk in hairdresser at the shopping centre, I really need a tidy up.
Best wishes

cornergran Tue 28-Apr-26 07:27:38

Morning Mick, morning All from a grey, windy corner of Somerset. Some rain in the forecast.

Such a change from yesterday when the sun shone all day. After depositing the car we walked into town, enjoyed breakfast before heading to the bus interchange. Three possibilities were decided on by an agreement to get the first bus that came. A lucky decision as it was one trundling for an hour on a very pretty if very bumpy route taking us further along the coast. Some wandering and a lot of sitting later we returned via two buses after a very pleasant day.

Covid jab for me this morning at the local pharmacy less than five minutes walk away. We may move the dust around - or may not.

Hope you enjoyed the tulips yesterday rosesandlilac we were at Dyrham about three weeks ago and were entranced. Couldn’t get in the cafe though, the queue was out the door.

Wishing everyone the best day it can be. .

kittylester Tue 28-Apr-26 07:30:00

Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire.

I too had a lovely time with 3 other gns yesterday.

Today I have choir and then we go for yet more tea and cake.

Have the best day possible.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 28-Apr-26 07:30:34

Good morning, The Imp is eating his breakfast, then it’s a quick wash, teeth clean and dressed before school at 8am.

It’s DD’s birthday (his mum) today. We are going out for Brunch.

If the sun comes out and it’s as warm as yesterday we shall sit in the courtyard of the local cafe (really good, independent and licensed for wine, fizz and beer)

RosesandLilac Tue 28-Apr-26 07:37:32

Good morning from south Glos, it’s a very grey sky here, chilly too.
My friend had muddled her days up yesterday so we’re off to Dyrham this morning, looking forward to seeing the tulips. I’m sure coffee and cake will feature too.
I had a phoned call from the hospital, my PET CT results will be discussed at next week’s MDT. The waiting is really getting me down now, it’s 9 weeks since I was told and still no action. Apparently I will get a call after the MDT and an appointment to discuss at the hospital will be sometime during the following 2 weeks….
I’ve cancelled my painting holiday, the final payment was due yesterday. The deposit was non refundable 🤷🏼‍♀️
I weighed myself just now, I’ve lost 8 lbs since February, it’s just as well there’s plenty of me!
Take care everyone, thinking of those with troubles or sadness x
🌹

brook2704 Tue 28-Apr-26 07:37:51

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright and sunny start to the day, better than yesterday which was showery
Beautiful pictures Greyduster thanks for sharing
How lovely that the WW1 items are going to a museum Gagagran well done
It’s my usual Tuesday routine with a couple of classes at the gym, coffee with pals, a walk by the river and then the bus home. I’ve done it all lots of times before but it’s always enjoyable
Sad news about your previous priest Ash, he sounds like a very kind caring man
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
