Gingster I will be thinking of you, everything crossed

Redcar Thu 30-Apr-26 07:15:54

gingster I hope your eye test goes well at lunchtime and that you will be able to drive again soon. 🤞

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Blue skies and sunshine again today, hopefully a little less windy. I was fairly busy yesterday - walked to the village shop for some Cook frozen food. Then I cleaned the shower and washed the bathroom floor, vacuumed everywhere there are carpets and did a very little weeding.
My niece and her DH are visiting this morning, bringing my sister in law’s rollator for me to try out. It’s lighter than the one I have and will be useful for walking on rougher ground, like the recreation ground!

ash I hope you have an easy journey to Cologne and a lovely holiday.

Thank you for the lovely photos nannyjan and grannyivy

Thinking of all those with problems of any kind.

Have as good a day as possible everyone.

Good morning from sunny South Lanarkshire.

Love everyone’s photos.

It was a glorious day yesterday and I was quite productive. I decided to leave the ironing board set up in a spare room and tackle the summer clothes in stages. How do you eat an elephant……..

It took a forty minute phone call to renew my travel insurance but it’s done at last.

I cleaned and polished my winter boots and put them away before making a big pot of mince curry to take to DS’s today.

The afternoon was spent pottering in the garden, I did a bit of tidying and we moved some pots around. It’s a lovely, calm, sunny space where I happily then sat crocheting and listening to my audiobook.

Back to our weekly childminding in Edinburgh today.

Safe trip Ash and enjoy your holiday.

Have a good day everyone.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’m having a bit of a lie in as I had to get up early yesterday for a 9 am dental appointment. All went well and he will see me in 6 months.

It is the monthly book group today. We will talk about ‘diaries’. I will talk about Alan Bennett’s latest and Chips Channon’s diaries, which are a hoot.

OH must visit his bees today. He keeps putting it off as they are so aggressive and the windy weather makes them more so.

Have a good day. I’m thinking especially of those who haven’t posted for a while.

Good morning all and the wind has died down after yesterday’s gusty blasts.

Our handy man didn’t come as he was unwell but will return on Friday.
DIL came round and went through the E mails from the solicitor with me . I now know what’s to be done and DS will take us to the cottage on Saturday to bring back all the paperwork required for the sale. They will want to know my shoe size next 😤. When did life get so complicated. 🤯.

Today Dh has a nurses appointment to look at his stitches and I have my second opinion eye test at lunchtime.🤞

Hoping struggles ease today and we can all find some peace and quiet. 🌺

Good morning from Sheffield

I have my osteopath appointment this morning and then I’m meeting a friend for a McDonald’s banana milkshake at 12.

We will then pick 2 grandsons up from school and then the rest of the family are here for tea.
I am doing a traybake . Salmon in a sticky sauce with jersey royals. I love them and eat as many as I can squeeze in during the season.

Thinking of Madeleine, I do hope she can post again soon

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from a very windy Torbay for the start of our holiday.

We are setting off by train to London where, after staying overnight in a hotel, we shall catch an early Eurostar tomorrow to take us to Brussels. There we change for Cologne where our cruise on the River Rhine begins. A new adventure!

Hope we shall hear from madaleine soon and thoughts are with RosesandLilac, too.

Have a good day, everyone! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

Our hunt for garden furniture yesterday was successful (and expensive) and two of the children want our old stuff.

Today is a day of firsts. First time for our new cleaner 🤞🤞and my first visit to a new dentist.😁 I also have to drop some trousers off to be shortened. Luckily the seamstress has moved to our village rather than 10 miles away. And, then a Sainsbury's delivery.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where it should reach 20 degrees today a beautiful blue sky already.

My dgd1 seems to be recovering now and resting at home. There do seem to be a few nasty viruses doing the rounds at mo.

I had a lovely walk yesterday by the river and a coffee in my favourite spot. Today my usual Pilates class and a potter in the garden later

FGT your yoga class is very reasonable at £3, I now pay £14 a week for an hour of Pilates and have to pay for the full term upfront. The cost of hiring the hall we use is expensive. I did yoga for many years when my girls were young it was my escape once a week for an hours peace and quiet.

Beautiful pictures NannyJan.
Bellas Milo is very cute.

The pics are the field of buttercups on my walk and my favourite coffee stop.

Wishing everyone a good day 🌷

Good Morning all from a bright, clear skied central south coast. Think we shall enjoy another lovely day, albeit still with that sneaky easterly wind.

We hope to get the plants I bought at the garden centre on Tuesday with their feet into some compost today. I have planned where they are all to go including 7 pots. DH will do the actual work whilst I direct operations. My arm and knee problems have now been joined by a lower back issue. I have a heat pad on it so hope to be able to sit and do the pots myself. It is so frustrating being so incapacitated.

Choir last night went well and we had two possible new members who came to see if we would suit them. Not sure about one of them, who left at the short break we have mid-session. We'll see. A recent bass recruit sang a solo in the audition for spots in the forthcoming concert and has a wonderful voice. He was loudly applauded by all the choir. and is a real find!

DH's trip to the Isle of Wight with his cycling club went well but he was later back than scheduled as they stopped off for coffee when they got off the ferry in Portsmouth. I had assumed a puncture as I tracked him on google maps and saw the long stop but not why.

Hope everyone has the best day possible especially our strugglers with burdens of any kind. sunshine

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where we are set for wall to wall sunshine it seems. Yesterday was also bright but breezy too. Today it is calmer. I went to writer’s group yesterday and we had a good session. When I came home I had a cuppa and then, as I had had a sedentary day I went out for a very pleasant walk. I slept like a top last night.

More walking this morning with the Thursday group, then lunch with DD and home.

DS sent me a lot of photos yesterday from the West of Scotland where they are currently touring with their motorhome. They reminded me of the holiday DH and I had up there but thankfully they are having better weather!

Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning from s somerset, much sun today and also windy

It was incredibly windy yesterday, a very drying gusty wind so I did not cycle, I went to the allotment by car and stuffed a few mesh bags with comfrey, for comfrey tea for my plants. In the meantime I will save some bottles and jars, to bottle the concentrated fertiliser.

I am having to water pot plants and young plants daily just now. I am very glad I got rid of most of my pot plants last year and also my 4 vegtrugs. I am at the stage now of only using my stored rainwater at home for my blueberry plants, they cannot tolerate tap water. Thankfully all my ground cover plants are drought resistant

Today will be what it will be. Rosesandlilacs and*MD* often in my thoughts and Madeleine

Good morning from a bright and cloudless sky in the Black Country.

Arrived home yesterday at lunchtime from our few days away in Somerset. Tuesday was cloudy with a very cold wind, but Monday was gloriously sunny, so we spent the day at Minehead. That is MrJ in first photo.

Today I need to go to Mums to top up her fridge and larder as I normally go on Tuesdays, so will miss my Thursday walk, and it looks like it will be a lovely day.

DGD1 (21) ran a half marathon in Bucharest on Sunday, and managed a personal best of 1.59.32 !

Seem at last the management are starting to take your concerns seriously gM ? Fingers firmly crossed!

Wishing you all the best day possible

Bellasnana Thu 30-Apr-26 06:06:29

Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is dawning and a high of 24°C expected.

I enjoyed having Milo dog yesterday. We had a lovely walk although it was hotter than I’d thought and I was worried about his little paws getting burnt but he seemed his usual jolly self and we kept to the shade as much as possible. There was a pleasant breeze which helped as well. He was tired out on our return , bless him.

I’d hoped to see the boys but DD3 had taken them out somewhere so Milo was collected by his dad at 5pm.

No plans today apart from watching tennis later. I might go out if my CBA doesn’t kick in before then!😂

Thoughts are with RosesandLilac, madeleine and all who are going through troubles. Hoping you have the best day possible.☀️

Good morning from Shropshire. Not as chilly this morning, a sunny day ahead.

We enjoyed our usual Wednesday afternoon/evening with DGD.She is a joy to be with and enjoys the time with us too.She is so enthusiastic about everything and gives 100% to whatever she does.

A day at home today.Nothing planned but always things to do and always another book to read.I am sure I will have a nap later being awake so early.

It looks more hopeful that work will be done now grandMattie🤞🏻

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌷

Good morning from a clear, dry, dawning Bristol. The birds are singing, a robin is especially cheerful!
FAB cafe was quieter than usual with 15 attendees, but it’ll be very, very busy next week. I think a lot of people have gone away. Sadly, one of our regulars died in Friday, he had been very poorly.
Th3 afternoon meeting at our estate was interesting. Fewer than half the residents attended, but those who did were very vocal (including me). The chair spent a lot of time apologising for poor performance, for the lack of communication from their contractors, and the extraordinary length of time taken for repairs - which happened or not.
I understand that, now she (and the management) has realised the depth of irritation of residents, and explained the contracts, things will improve. But… the older complaints will need to be fixed first.
The scaffolding is now starting to go up, perhaps the exterior painting will as well.
Today, I have no t’ai chi, so will spend the morning trying to do my very long Spanish homework, which, curiously is about the Falklands/Malvinas. Curiously, the French call the island “les Malvines too.
Dinner at DD’s, befit which I might go to town for cash and a look round£ for some trousers.
May your day be gentle and your lives smooth.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
