Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 6°C.
Thank you all for your good wishes yesterday, regarding DH.
I did manage to obtain a telephone appointment for DH, but when I hadn't had a call back from the surgery just before 10am, I took him to A&E, because he was becoming increasingly unwell. His BP was 235 /98, his face was bright red and he was also lightheaded.
There was a missed call from a GP at 10.02 am!! We missed it by minutes.
It is only a fifteen minute drive to the hospital, which is at the top of a very steep hill.
I deposited DH in a bus shelter and went looking for a space. I don't know how many times I drove round in circles, looking for a space and becoming increasingly anxious about DH.
I then realised that the bus shelter was outside A&E, so he would be OK. if he collapsed. 😉
I did find the tightest of spaces, but as I was reversing in, a woman driving in the wrong direction, started hassling me to hurry up.
I then became sandwiched between her and another car, which going in the correct direction.
I am afraid a few naughty words were said. 🤬
When I got to desk, the receptionist thought it was me, who needed help.
I was so breathless, I couldn't speak.
DH was seen immediately by a lovely doctor. Once again, he had a raft of tests. They are unable to find a reason for this worryingly high BP.
He has been referred back to his GP for a medication review, but any changes require to be done slowly, given how high his BP is.
It doesn't happen like that in my Turkish hospital dramas,
people are cured immediately. 😉
I have just done an engage health for DH, to try and get GP appointment.
Poor DH kept apologising, because I had to cancel our optician appointments and our fish tea lunch. ♥️
He was obviously very frightened. He is not a demonstrative nor romantic man, but was holding my hand very tightly.
He is a grumpy old so and so, but he is my grumpy old so and so.
I was putting on a face, pretending all was fine, but inside I was quite frightened.
When we eventually got out of the hospital, I couldn't find my car! I had been so agitated, I hadn't checked, after parking.
I began to panic!
I can't do anything today, until we hear back from the surgery.
I need a new iron. My iron blew up, (water on the plug, my fault) and tripped the fuse box.
I am planning a Sainsbury trip any way and will pick one up at Argos.
A dress needs returned, I look like Nell Gwyn in it!
Good luck with the hospital appointment Susan and anyone else, who has one.
Wishing you all the best of days. Now going to read the posts.
