Good morning Mick and all from Morecambe Bay where again a cool cloudy day is forecast. I’m off to meet a friend in Cumbria today so no walk in the woods for me today. DH will take Crazy dog out somewhere using our little camper. My friend has serious physical health issues yet she is the most cheerful, positive person you could wish to meet. She will find a way to overcome her physical limitations one way or another come what may. I have never heard her actually complain despite her disabilities. She is a real inspiration!
May those on holidays enjoy their trips, those with worries enjoy some peace and those who are ill or caring for someone who is, get some rest. Take care everyone.thanks

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Out for coffee with a good friend. DH seems to be having problems with his eyes again so an optician’s appointment has been made
After many years my hairdresser has left so the hunt is on for a new one
Hope all went well for Marydoll’s DH
Best wishes

Good Morning everyone from the central south coast. We have high cloud with brightness behind so who knows what will develop.

I love the skies we can see from our window. We see all sorts of celestial phenomena including double rainbows, birds of prey, helicopters, hot air balloons etc., and many different cloud formations.

DH is out with his cycling club today so I have a quiet day to prepare for choir this evening. We have only 6 more rehearsals before the concert on 13 June. It somehow always comes together on the night and is always a full house of our enthusiastic supporters.

Hope the fab cafe is a great success GM and all the other activities we have heard about above, Especially hoping Marydoll has some better news for us.

FGT I think you are doing really well and Himself would be very proud of your optimism and strength. flowers

Kindest regards to all our strugglers with a hard path. sunshine

Good morning from a dull Suffolk where rain is forecast but doubt if that will happen.

I’m meeting a dog walking friend for coffee in the village community pub where they do free cake on Wednesday morning. There is a gang of ladies in the village who turn out delicious cakes for any local occasion.

Thinking of all the youngsters starting their GCSE exams today. 2 of our DGC at different ends of the country are, different exam boards, different subjects to start. Good luck to all who have grandchildren at this stage in their lives.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 6°C.

Thank you all for your good wishes yesterday, regarding DH.
I did manage to obtain a telephone appointment for DH, but when I hadn't had a call back from the surgery just before 10am, I took him to A&E, because he was becoming increasingly unwell. His BP was 235 /98, his face was bright red and he was also lightheaded.
There was a missed call from a GP at 10.02 am!! We missed it by minutes.

It is only a fifteen minute drive to the hospital, which is at the top of a very steep hill.
I deposited DH in a bus shelter and went looking for a space. I don't know how many times I drove round in circles, looking for a space and becoming increasingly anxious about DH.
I then realised that the bus shelter was outside A&E, so he would be OK. if he collapsed. 😉
I did find the tightest of spaces, but as I was reversing in, a woman driving in the wrong direction, started hassling me to hurry up.
I then became sandwiched between her and another car, which going in the correct direction.
I am afraid a few naughty words were said. 🤬

When I got to desk, the receptionist thought it was me, who needed help.
I was so breathless, I couldn't speak.
DH was seen immediately by a lovely doctor. Once again, he had a raft of tests. They are unable to find a reason for this worryingly high BP.
He has been referred back to his GP for a medication review, but any changes require to be done slowly, given how high his BP is.
It doesn't happen like that in my Turkish hospital dramas,
people are cured immediately. 😉
I have just done an engage health for DH, to try and get GP appointment.

Poor DH kept apologising, because I had to cancel our optician appointments and our fish tea lunch. ♥️
He was obviously very frightened. He is not a demonstrative nor romantic man, but was holding my hand very tightly.
He is a grumpy old so and so, but he is my grumpy old so and so.
I was putting on a face, pretending all was fine, but inside I was quite frightened.

When we eventually got out of the hospital, I couldn't find my car! I had been so agitated, I hadn't checked, after parking.
I began to panic!

I can't do anything today, until we hear back from the surgery.
I need a new iron. My iron blew up, (water on the plug, my fault) and tripped the fuse box.
I am planning a Sainsbury trip any way and will pick one up at Argos.
A dress needs returned, I look like Nell Gwyn in it!

Good luck with the hospital appointment Susan and anyone else, who has one.

Wishing you all the best of days. Now going to read the posts.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton but should stay dry so I have just got a load of washing in the machine.

Need to stay around home today as hopefully Evri will be picking up my returns parcel which they failed to collect last Saturday. I am not holding my breath....

Had a lovely walk in the sunshine yesterday with the group. When I got home I let the cats out into the garden which they love, and I sat in the sunshine and watched them. They are indoor cats and need watching outside, but all they do is sit and sunbathe!

Hopefully, if Evri come, I shall be able to get out into the back garden this afternoon and carry on with clearing the borders of weeds. Also, the front grass needs cutting.

FGT2 💐💐 on this special day. xxx

Hoping for better news from Marydoll.

Wishing all a pleasant Wednesday.

Morning Mick and all from high cloud in S Hants. Lovely pictures thanks Ashcombe.
Happy holiday Georgesgran 🌞
Fingers crossed this afternoon goes well Sar.
Yesterday some verbena plants arrived, now in the ground filling a couple of gaps and they should spread. The peonies are full of buds and should be glorious.
Today some admin online, update my Asda delivery order, a walk and last check on our friend’s house five minutes away. They have been in Australia for over 6 weeks and due home tomorrow.
Have a pleasant day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Overcast and chilly. What happened to that fab weather of last week!

I had a good day out yesterday with my pal at the Botanics despite the rain it looked and smelled gorgeous. Anyway we spent an hour over our soup and coffee perhaps more
Then we did the charity shops in Stockbridge and found me an outfit for the DBiL funeral next week.

Gaelic in the evening is always hilarious.
Eg. Our teacher did a handstand to remind us of inversion. In Gaelic grammar on occasions the verb swaps places with the object.

Today yarn group and a friend is coming to look through the books.

Marydoll what a scary time you are having. I hope the GP can help you now and you don't have to contend with hospital carparks!

FGT ♥️ a hug and flowers on his sp

Good morning, I haven’t read the entire thread, will catch up later.

Already changed bedding, the washing machine is doing its thing

I now need to get a wriggle on, shower and hair wash and then off to my favourite class at the gym. 🙋‍♀️

Thinking of FGT2 today 🌼

Hoping all is well in Marydoll’s world 🌺

Good morning from a dry but cool NE.
DD, SIL and I joined DS and DIL at GD's school concert last night, it was delightful. Choirs, orchestra, string quartet and GD played the piano to accompany her friend on the violin.
Today I have a dental appointment, SIL is going to take me while DD works from home.
Have a good day.

hollysteers Wed 06-May-26 09:20:39

Good morning from sunny Berkshire where I am staying with my DD. Nice day yesterday, a little shopping and a good steak meal in the evening.

This morning we go to see my BIL who has recently removed to a nursing home, then a lunch with my sister in law, niece and DD. DD and I then go into London and maybe a visit to the south bank.
Thoughts to FGT and all.

Usedtobeblonde Wed 06-May-26 09:29:02

Good morning from Grasmere.
We enjoyed decent weather yesterday even had lunch sitting outside.
We had a tricky start. My travelling companions had made themselves responsible for getting my mobility scooter and the bags into the car, I am told to just go and sit in the car.
After about half an hour travelling I asked if they had the keys, silence, we had to go back home to pick them up.
Had we arrived without them it would have been quite a disaster as I can’t walk far at all.
However all was eventually well.
The hotel is good, food really nice, an American party in
Off soon for a day visiting old remembered places.
I hope you all find something pleasant in your day.

Good morning from Sheffield
Greyduster, know what you mean about the iPad update. I’m sure in the background they’re improving things but when it affects the home screen and how it looks, it drives me crazy. I just get used to where things are and then they move things. I’ve trouble with my iPad today as well. It is very old and one of the grandsons stood on the screen this weekend and cracked it.
Father Christmas might be getting a request.

Marydoll I’m so sorry you’re having such health problems. I do hope they get your hubby sorted out.

I’m working today so before nine I have made a casserole, done some ironing, tidied the bedroom and prepared tea. It’s amazing what women can do isn’t it? Husband‘s gone golfing .hmm
take care everyoneflowers

Lots of busyness this morning- hope MD and FGT don't find today too overwhelming with what they're currently coping with.💐

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

MrB and I have enjoyed our favourite walk around the dock and along the woodland path.

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing. 🌹

Harri I always think it requires a special skill to accompany another instrumentalist on the piano. I have always been in awe of good accompanists. Well done your GD.
