Well I must be irritating I imagine but am not sure what RL stands for, sorry if someone already asked, I imagine that is irritating in itself. 🧐

Very amusing reading all these! I also Wow a fair bit and say Cool (just waiting for a young person to tell me i'm too old for that but I reckon it's done the rounds from the 60s when I was born and is now back again so I'm allowed!).

As for pedant... guilty as charged 😀

I have to have the temperature of a room "just right". Else cant get to sleep or stay asleep.

Trouble is now, I have a skin condition, and the same is applying to day time as well.

Poor DH has to either say he is too cold or too hot.
But he knows I will suffer even more if the room temperature is "wrong".

This is rather outing.
But I would rather that if someone else can cure my skin condition.

I'm a fidget, sneeze a lot and quite loudly, tap my fingers without realising - yes probably very irritating. My Mum used to try & correct me but I've realised over the years that she's as bad as me at fidgetting, huffing, tutting etc

Some of my responses to people's news. Usually I'm not really interested, will forget all the details of the conversation, and will be trying to get away to do something else as I'm always busy.

That's why I like GN, I can pop in and out as time allows, join in or not, leave when I've had enough and don't have to listen if something doesn't interest me 😉.

We used to flat share with someone whose response was ‘Oh my hat’. In extreme circumstances it was upgraded to ‘Oh my top hat’.

I’m more down to earth - usually an ‘oh my goodness’ or ‘that takes the biscuit’. Rather pithier responses are kept inside my head (usually).

My DD says my most irritating habit is wanting to wash up the cooking pans before eating. It takes me very few minutes and I do it while people are helping themselves from serving dishes so I don’t really see the problem, but it grates with her.

I often find myself laughing at something I have said. Trying to stop that.
Could never start saying ‘wow’. Reminds me of a tasteless joke involving tattooing a ‘w’ either side of an orifice.

Mum always says that the joys of being elderly is that not only can you tell people anecdotes that you don’t remember saying before but that the listeners themselves have forgotten that you’ve told them before😂

'Blimey' and 'Hey Ho'! person here and I find it irritating when anyone says 'Ah Bless'! to me - feels patronising.

I think that most of us say something to indicate a response.

I'm guilty of saying-really , super or great .

I have to laugh when it's obvious that someone hasn't listened to a word that you've said and they ask you about the subject !

"glad to hear it" is quite benign in the right context?

but of course we irritate each other. My family is confusing. My sis happily munches away in a phone call, whilst DS reproves me, but is quite happy to clatter pots and pans.
One has to get to know The rules.

I am inclined to say ‘ooh, lovely’ when something warrants it.
Anything that’s irks me generally get “that’s nice”………. means something totally opposite and viewers of Mrs Browns Boys will know! 🤣

‘Indeed’ and ‘Absolutely’ are mine, I’m afraid, especially the latter.
