Gorgeous, md
Sounds like you had a wonderful time, ash, despite injury.
redcar, Iris did as she was going back after a chip pie top up. She found the Irish dancing a bit difficult as she’s not very stead on one leg and finds it tiring.

Good morning all from a sunny Black country after overnight rain for which the garden is grateful for.
Shall pay a visit to the newly opened Sainsburys and while there call in at the nearby M&S food hall see what delights there are, other than that a quiet day before our friends arrive and we take a trip over to the club.
Well usual full English calling so will catch up with everybody's happenings later, enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.

Mick, I second kittylester's advice re ringing 111. I too think it's odd it's bleeding after all this time even if it wasn't much.

I went to the nearby village to post a parcel yesterday morning, it gave me a run out into the countryside which is looking lovely at this time of year. I did some veggie shopping in their little supermarket, this is the time of year when I pig out on english strawberries and asparagus.
Then it was onto the garden cenre for my free coffee. Naturally, I came out with plants but ones I was looking for, and some compost which I'd run out of. The benefit of having white hair is that people think you might need help in hauling heavy stuff about. I let them think that, I don't want to put them off helping other folk in the future.
After lunch, I went out and tidied up my raised bed and put in some bedding plants before reluctantly getting on with some admin.

Today will have to be gentle, I am combatting a painful kidney and hoping I will not have to resort to asking for antibiotics. I am forgoing my walk to get the papers and, anyway, I still need to spend time playing catch up with the boring admin. There's plenty of reading about so I don't need more.

I wish you all a pleasant day.

Good morning everyone from Anglesey. Just been catching up on the last 2 days.
Happy belated birthday, Cornergran! 🎂

So sorry to read about your brother, Gagagran. I hope his surgery went as well as possible yesterday and I know what you mean about not wanting to mither for updates.

The hall transformation looks fab, Marydoll!

Yesterday we took the little chap to family contact and then drove onto Anglesey where we have our caravan.

He had a fun time with his half siblings and parents at a soft play centre.
The M56 and A55 were fairly clear for a Friday so we had a good run here.
The caravan has patio doors and decking on 2 sides with a lockable gate so he was able to play outside and run off the car journey.

Not sure what our plans are for today, it's just lovely to be here.

Have the best day you can everyone and I'll echo others, Mick, and hope you can get your old wound checked. 🌻

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s only going to hit 14°C today with showers forecast. One of my LWW friends was messaging me yesterday and said heart rain in Málaga yesterday and over the weekend. She made me laugh saying “We will all be moaning soon that it’s too hot - can’t wait” she loves the sun!

Not much on the cards for me today. I’m with L’il Miss this afternoon for an hour or two while her mum goes for a swim.

A friend of mine cancelled our meet up for a curry night as she’s twigged her back playing golf yesterday poor thing.

Yorkshire Lass & her husband are off to Hamburg for a few days. His Oma is 101 and he expects a poignant reunion. 🥰

Just heard from my niece with the good news that my brother had his op at 5pm last night and was back on the ward by 7pm. The surgeon said he had removed all the necrotic part of his foot and blood flow is now working in the remaining half. It is a question of healing and rehab if all goes well. We must hope it does. She sent me a photo of him sat up in bed with a cup of tea and his thumb up with a big smile. That cheered me!

However, there was further bad news in that her own brother, my nephew, suffered a detached retina on Thursday and was emergency lifted to Liverpool eye hospital for surgery yesterday. Yet another worrying situation.

I just hope the rule of three doesn't come into play now!

Thanks for all the kind supportive comments - much appreciated.

Good morning all and we have a lovely day in store.

Yesterday was lovely too, but we , here in Essex , do really need some rain.

I enjoyed our lunchtime catch-up with our Friday pals while Dh had a quiet time at home.🙄
Yes I agree Rosesandlilac and Marydoll, some husbands are very frustrating.

DGD was kept in hospital after returning to A and E . She was being sick and her pain levels were severe. DS2 stayed overnight with her. They were lucky enough to have a room to themselves, with camp bed for DS , toilet and tv.
She’s been given anti sickness and morphine and she is feeling much more comfortable. They are waiting for the doctor to do his rounds to see what the next step will be. 🤞.

Not much on today, so will enjoy a leisurely dog walk , read my new book and Saturday papers.

Sar enjoy the few days with your girls. I’m sure your dh will be fine . I hope his op has been successful this time.

Marydoll the seats have been transformed. What a difference those covers have made. Beautiful.

Take it easy Ashcombe . I hope you have a good journey home.

Enjoy the day 🌺

Gagagran positive news for you re your brother but sad to hear about your nephew.
I hope, indeed, that there’s isn’t a third lurking. 🙏

Oh, Gagagran, just seen your update.
Fingers crossed for your brother and I hope your nephew's procedure was successful. 💐

Good morning everyone.
*Mick *as others have said, do get some medical advice.
We have just had a message from DGS2 ( 10 yrs old) telling us that he won ‘ Most Improved Player’ at his rugby club. He looked so proud of himself.

Today we have a local food shop and then a trip to the garden centre for plants of various kinds. I saw a message on line yesterday that said… Don’t let anyone stop you spending £15 at the garden centre centre, That £55 is the best £153 you could spend. Made me smile.

I contacted the eye clinic again this week re. results from my ‘emergency ‘ appointment 11 weeks ago. Apparently they still have a backlog and will inform me as soon as possible !!

Thinking of those with troubles and illnesses to deal with and wish all a good day.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk where I’ve only just got up so am enjoying my first cuppa and will read your posts after mine. I hope there is positive news from those needing it.

I had such a lovely time with my dear friend yesterday. The trains were on time meaning our arrival times were within 10 minutes of one another. We got a bus from the station, had coffee sitting in the cafe’s patio garden and then a delicious leisurely lunch at our favourite restaurant before a meander to the bus station for a bus to the railway station.

Sadly a shope we always visit, the Fairtrade shop,is closing down at the end of July because of a drop in customers….another empty shop as a result I imagine.

DS and DGS3 are coming this morning to give my car a good clean, inside and out which it desperately needs.DS will,no doubt, point out a few jobs that need doing to the house outside which is helpful especially if he fixes them or arranges to do so later.

Hope there is some sunshine in everyone’s day.

Grammaretto Sat 09-May-26 08:34:38

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's raining and cold.

I hope it clears up as I'm off to the seaside today with my foraging friends for a picnic on the beach. I shall park my car at a friend's halfway and travel in his electric one 😊
I baked a fruit and nut loaf yesterday while rivetted to the Scottish election results which surprised me. the results not the loaf

I'm so glad your cruise was a success. Ash
And your birthday Corner and the sports day Bella.

Lots of worries about though aren't there.
Thinking of you all.

A later good morning from a bright and sunny Northampton; got up for the bathroom just before 7, and went back co to bed. Had the strangest dream about being back at school and in the top A level Maths set! Funny, seeing that I struggled to pass O level Maths.....

Yesterday did not really turn out as expected; after dance classes my friend and I went to visit a very elderly (in her 90s) widowed friend who had just lost her only son - he (in his 60s) had never married, lived with his parents his whole life, and sadly passed away in his sleep last week. It has been a tremendous shock for her, but yesterday.she was dressed smartly and raring to go to M&S Food to stock up her fridge. So that is what we did,.with a visit to Costa first for tea-cakes and coffee, which was my treat. We shall be keeping an eye on her over the coming weeks; of course there has to be a post mortem, as the death was sudden and unexpected.

I ended up doing a bit of shopping as well and also popped into Boots and Sainsbury's, and then got the bus home.

An early lunch today as I am out to the cinema this afternoon, and fancy a browse around the town centre first before the film. Going to see "Rose of Nevada"; it seems to be about a ghost ship which makes a sudden re-appearance.

Lovely pictures today, thank you to all who posted.

Wishing all a pleasant Saturday.

Good morning from a damp northwest coast.
Back to the usual art group yesterday and we used pastels, which I like as they seem to work by themselves.

I then went to order more contact lenses from my optician, but I need an aftercare appointment before they can be ordered as the prescription is over a year old. Back today for that.

I’m having trouble fixing up a meeting with a cousin who is over from America. We can’t find a suitable time and he returns on the 13th.
Thoughts to Gagagran and all🌺

hollysteers Sat 09-May-26 09:21:15

Sorry you are having to miss your trip Mick and hope you take advice .

Good morning from a grey and damp Yorkshire.
Staying in a beautiful cottage that has every luxury you can imagine.
Sadly I was up all night with stomach pain,
No plans yet.
Have a good weekend.

🇬🇬 Guernsey 🇬🇬 liberation day today.
So the workplaces and shops are closed ( yes even Waitrose ) and celebrations will be ongoing all day. A cavalcade of military vehicles remembering when the first soldiers landed. Will please many and others now in their late 80s and beyond will have personal memories of the hardships they suffered or otherwise.

A rather late morning all from West Oxfordshire. I’ve been up for a while though! I had to let OH have first shower as he had an early meeting with his Beekeeping group. They are having a talk about Asian Hornets. I then rang my brother in Australia for a chat before it was too late over there. They’re currently 9 hours ahead.

I’ve had breakfast and I’m thinking about doing a stack of ironing. First though I’ll read the papers.

That ‘church’ hall looks beautiful MaryD.

Have a good day everyone

dustyangel Sat 09-May-26 11:16:15

Gagagran I’m so pleased that your brother’s operation has been successful and he is doing well. When my Father was 89, he refused an operation on his gangrenous foot. I think he must have felt that he’d had a long enough life and that he was ready to go anyway. Unfortunately it made the last six months of his life absolutely agony and he died in such unnecessary pain.

Best wishes to all our other poorly members, we seem to have a lot at the moment.

Marydoll the church looks absolutely beautiful, quite transformed, all the Communicants and their families will be thrilled.
Prayers and best wishes for your husband. flowers

Good morning, Michael12 and all, from a rainy Whitby!

Thanks a bunch to you all for the various beautiful photos!

I love my boss; she's a brilliant and gorgeous lady, both professionally and personally, but I could have done 20 years for her murder this morning!

Being Friday yesterday, it was my usual day off. Our shop door is a double one, and on the inside of one of them is a great big metal bar that's attached to the wall, then hooks over the door, so when I came into work this morning, I put the key in the door and realised it was already open. I didn't take any notice, thinking the boss was already in, but then I found the bar was off. I froze, thinking we'd had a break-in.

I called her name, and there was no reply, so I was dithering - do I go in or call the police?

I crept in quietly and slowly, looked around, both shop areas, staff areas, office, everything was as it was, no sign of a disturbance, or the boss, so I texted her, and she said she was just 2 minutes away.

She came in, I explained, and she looked VERY red-faced! When she left last night, she was in a rush to get home and forgot to put the bar across and lock the other door; she just pulled it up!

So I playfully bipity-bapped her and gave her a severe telling off! Then I forced her to make me a cuppa! Babe, I love you, but....!

I had a brilliant day off yesterday, being mugged by Simon, scoffing chip stuff, sitting on the sea front in the rain and having the lovely feeling of having the wind blowing my long hair and face.

I had a look around the charity shops and found a gorgeous candle in a jar for £1.00, so I happily added it to my family of candles in the living room and office!

Have a good one, all of you!

Good morning everyone from overcast Lancashire.

MrB and I have enjoyed our usual walk around the dock. I wonder how much longer I will be able to enjoy it. Not feeling too good today, had a very bad night.

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing.🌹

Jaxjacky Sat 09-May-26 12:26:14

Sorry to hear that Blossoming, lovely picture as always, quite moody today.
