Good Morning Everyone,
Its light and dry just before sun up here in Brackley this morning.
Have had a bad night as to loo visits , but otherwise up and showered ,and get into my usual routine with the bus trip to Bicester to shop and maybe chat to those I know.
Health wise I think the cold chilly wind we have been getting seem to be the cause of problems , Maybe I should have the Raspatory jab.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 5°C, with thunderstorms predicted.

Belated birthday greetings Harri. ♥️

Baubles, my DH is the same with Duolingo and Soduko, he cannot miss a day.

Sar, that is more positive news.

DH has a GP appointment today. However, he will not allow me to see the doctor with him . I am not holding out much hope, DH will just deliver a cornucopia of misinfornation and we will be no further forward.

On a more positive not, Dollie is coming to visit Papa after school. I have hardly seen her, due to our present circumstances and miss her so much.
DH, reminded me, that Dollie is only coming to visit him, despite it being my birthday tomorrow.
He has become quite unkind, since he was diagnosed, with this critically high, hypertension. It is definitely affecting his cognitive function, However he is blissfully unaware.
I have had little sleep, because he was restless all night, but has had the nerve to blame me! 🤬
I keep telling myself, that his condition is to blame.

I was watering the church flowers yesterday, when there was a banging on the door.
My friend had been at a meeting in our tearoom, when she spotted my car.
Years ago, I used to make jewellery with semi precious stones, but no longer have the dexterity. A necklace of sentimental value needed repair and she hoped I could fix it.
In the hope of bumping into me, she had been keeping it on her person.
As she handed me the necklace, I dropped my keys and my car key fell apart.😱😭
This happens all the time, there seems to be something not quite right with my hands.
I plan to do it today, it is a simple repair. She was going to put it into a jewellers, which would have been expensive.

I totally forgot, I was the duty sacristan tonight, for the Ascension Thursday Vigil. In fact, I forgot today is Wednesday. It is going to be a busy day!

I wish you all a pleasant day and best wishes to all, who have sadness and worry, regarding loved ones. ♥️

Good Morning all from a breezy and chilly central south coast. We are forecast showers today.

Just heard from DS who is on his motor bike en route to Liverpool for the ferry tomorrow evening to the Isle of Man. Unfortunately he's had a mechanical problem near Hay on Wye so has to get that fixed before proceeding northwards. He is ever resourceful so I have no doubt he will make it.
No updates from the sick bay there but he will be able to report back when he gets there. I don't want to pester my niece for updates every day. She has a lot on her plate.

DH is out with his cycling club today and the cleaners are already here doing their stuff so I shall have a quiet day trying to ease my various aching joints. I may well give choir a miss this evening as we sit on hard upright chairs for most of the two hour rehearsal and my back has been very painful as a result. I am beginning to think my choir days may sadly be coming to a close.

Our new patio furniture has still not arrived and I fear may be lost in the system as it was supposed to be delivered last Friday. DH will get on to it when he gets back from his ride, if it hasn't turned up today.

Thinking of all our GNs with problems, troubles or worries of any kind and hoping for better news and some comfort today. [sun shine]

My rhodies are beautiful this year.
The photo doesn't do them justice.
One bush is about 7ft high.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and dry but there are raindrops on the roof of my car. Sar that's such good news for your dh. Rosesandlilacs a lovely new car for you! Marzipan I had to stop feeding the birds because of mice. It's such a shame.
Yesterday was a quiet day. Dgs2 is having a series of activities to help with the transition to school. Yesterday was packed lunch day at the school. He was so excited about it and held his lunchbox all the way into the nursery. When I picked him up, he had eaten everything except an apple and had apparently been a role model of how to behave. Dgs1 was tired when I picked him up and lay on the couch at home, wrapped in a blanket. Once they were deposited home, I put away all the toys and painting equipment and had a quiet night.
Despite a number of toilet visits, I had a good night and slept late for me. Lots of dreams. Today I will head to the school to tidy the library then home to work on a painting for ds. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk which I hope means it is a bit warmer than yesterday in Norwich.

The visit tothe Colman family home was very interesting, especially learning more about the family who were Quakers. They looked after their workers extremely well, providing schools, medical care and insurance which continued after retirement. Just like other well known Quaker families and interesting that all seemed to be in food production.

DH and I have our COVID jabs after my keep fit class and then a quiet afternoon at home.

Good to read good news about health improvements, birthday celebrations and a new car purchase.
Hope the day is a good one for all.

Grandmabatty Wed 13-May-26 08:07:15

Marydoll the colours of your rhododendrons are just lovely.

Gelisajams Wed 13-May-26 08:07:17

Good morning from a cloudy cold wet Berwick. Hopefully it will dry up as we are planning a trip to the Farne Islands later. Yesterday’s trip to Lindisfarne was most enjoyable although it was sad to see the Gertrude Jekyll garden somewhat neglected. A new head gardener starts in June. He’s certainly got his work cut out.
Thinking of all with worries, troubles and ill health. Take care. thanks

Sar53 Wed 13-May-26 08:12:25

Thank you all for your kind comments. It's been a tough 6 weeks for DH, he treasures his independence and doesn't like having to rely on me and friends to take him out.
Hopefully he will be able to drive again soon.
He's also been a bit grumpy at times, which is understandable, but I've had to have strong words and a few tears when I've borne the brunt of it.
Anyway upwards and onwards now.

Georgesgran Wed 13-May-26 08:17:43

There were orcas sighted off Berwick yesterday Gelisajams. You might be lucky to spot them from your boat going over to the Farnes. Always plenty of seals if not.

Gingster Wed 13-May-26 08:23:33

Good morning all and it’s bright at the moment so I’ve put a full line of washing out.
Rain due later so I must keep an eye open.

We still have DGD and she’s no trouble at all. Today she wants to walk by herself half way to school. ALL her friends do it! 😬.
I’ll take little pooch and hide somewhere to watch. Two roads to cross . Oh dear!

I’ll meet my pal for coffee and do a bit of shopping in town. Dh will go out for brunch with his pal.

Sar what a relief!!🙏.
Your car sounds just right for you RandL.

Take care all 🌺

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but it has been raining and showers are forecast all day. That has probably put paid to my plans to finish the weeding this afternoon, but of course it may change by then. A friend yesterday offered me a yellow buddies which will fill a gap in the borders.

Managed to vacuum the bedrooms yesterday and then did the stairs.
Then an early lunch and joined my walking group for a pleasant if chilly walk, but the company was good.

A Sainsbury's delivery late morning, and then see how the day pans out; I may vacuum the sitting room furniture, and try to sort out Spotify on my phone which wouldn't play any music for me yesterday. I have some magazines to catch up on, so may do that as well.

Fish and new potatoes for dinner. I enjoyed my beef, pineapple and ginger stir-fry yesterday.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 13-May-26 08:27:26

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s wet and cooler, today reaching only 12°C, brr!

I should be at mat yoga later this morning but I’m not going as my arm is aching from my Covid jab yesterday and I have a headache with it too. No matter, I shall finish my book club read (stilllearning you asked was it good? It’s okay, quite readable but it started at pace and seems to be meandering a bit 🤷‍♀️ our discussion tonight will be interesting).

Now to get my second TiB and read all your posts while the rain batters the window. It’s nice to be cosy (and slothful) in bed.

Good morning from Shropshire. After a night of heavy rain we now have a forecast of sunshine and showers with a strong breeze for the rest of the day.

I enjoyed a day at home yesterday.I did some more sorting so a trip to the charity shop later then both my girls phoned in the afternoon so a lot of chat.DH went to his class then coffee with his pals.

Today the usual Wednesday of collecting DGD, feeding her then her dance class.

Sar, I am so happy for you both.My uncle had one of the first cornea transplants many years ago and it made such a tremendous difference to his life.Such good news😊

The new car sounds perfect RandL.

Marydoll 💐I hope the dr can see that your DH really isn’t well and that he gets the right treatment to lower his blood pressure 🙏🏻

Thinking of all with worries and wishing everyone the best day possible🌷🦩

Grammaretto Wed 13-May-26 08:32:13

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cold yet again and showers forecast. I have put the heating back on.

The home report for this house is being done this afternoon - last year's had expired.

I am viewing a bungalow this evening. I peered at it yesterday with a friend. It's empty so we walked round the back too.

Baubles. I'm another who keeps doing Duolingo (Gaelic) and most of those others plus squaredle..
No wonder time disappears. 😄

Yarn group this morning and community lunch.

I hope you enjoyed your birthday Harrigran

Hope you all have a really good day.

Greyduster Wed 13-May-26 08:35:28

I was sad to hear about the Gertrude Jekyll garden Gelisajams. It’s one of my favourite places on Lindesfarne - a real gem. Hope they can bring it back to its former glory. Your photos brought back happy memories. Thankyou.

GrannyIvy Wed 13-May-26 08:38:08

Good morning from a wet chilly Cambridgeshire. I had a restless night with odd dreams. I’m worrying about going away on holiday at the weekend , I will be fine when I get there but always get anxious at packing and leaving my home. As DD2 and the little ones will join us over half term I am taking some things for them and trying to organise them (which probably isn’t needed).

Anyway today will be spent ironing and cleaning the house and getting myself organised. Weather looks pretty awful outside so pleased I got was needed to in the garden done last week. Lovely rhododendrons MD. Mine sadly have not performed this year🙈

Hoping everyone has a good day 🌷

harrigran Wed 13-May-26 08:40:44

Good morning from an overcast Yorkshire.
Thank you for the birthday greetings, I had a wonderful day with my DD and SIL. It was sunny but the wind was very chilling.
Today we may have an outing to Helmsley depend

harrigran Wed 13-May-26 08:42:57

Depending on the weather.
Thinking of Marydoll and coping with her DH at present.
Have a good day everyone.

hollysteers Wed 13-May-26 09:27:18

Good morning from a windy northwest coast.
Interesting day yesterday as I met my footballing cousin in the city and another cousin I don’t remember, having not seen them for many years. I come from large families on both sides, so it’s too much to keep up with everyone.
My cousin flies back to America today and I’m glad we were able to meet up. I took some old family photos and documents and he took photos of them.

The restaurant had changed hands and the food was a shadow of what it used to be. I’m proving rather unlucky with restaurants at the moment and my risotto was rather dry.

I’m glad to be at home today and just have an opera co rehearsal tonight.

I’m sorry you are still having health problems Mick and belated greetings Harrigran🌺

Usedtobeblonde Wed 13-May-26 09:40:24

Good morning from a very damp and dull Stockport.
The rhododendrons in the Lake District were magnificent when I was there last week.
Colour round every corner.
I have a busy day today, a friend visiting for coffee this morning then I will visit my Wednesday friend this afternoon.
I am looking forward to one of those visits!!
I must hasten to get the vac going.
Commiserations to those dealing with loved ones not in the best of health and well done too the ones feeling relieved today after successful outcomes.

Thomas61 Wed 13-May-26 09:47:25

Hi everyone, I’ve just joined and thought I’d introduce myself. I’m living in Ireland and looking to connect with some new people for a bit of a chat and to see what’s going on in the community. It's a bit of a quiet afternoon here, so I figured it was finally time to sign up! Looking forward to getting to know you all

Good morning everyone from rainy Lancashire. I am not going to be posting for a while. I have now contracted vasculitis to add to my existing diseases and I feel very poorly.

Wishing you all the very best xx

Roses Wed 13-May-26 10:17:47
