Good morning from Malta where it looks a bit gloomy at present and a hazy day with dirty rain and thunder is forecast with a high of 24°C.

The tennis was rained off last night, it was pouring down in Rome, so I suspect we are getting a spell of bad weather in the Med.

Had a nice catch up with my pal yesterday, she’s the most positive person I know and is always a tonic to be with.

Milo was very good and I enjoyed his company.

No plans today other than gearing myself up for having the boys to sleep over tonight! They have never slept away from home without their parents, apart from their first two months in the NICU, so I am worried they might not settle.

Anyway, we can but try it! DD3 is desperate for a lie in. DGS1 wakes at 6.30 every day and, whilst I don’t consider it too early, his mum loves her sleep!

Hoping a good day is had by all. ☀️

Good morning everyone from a dawning Anglesey.
Just been reading yesterday's thread as I didn't get chance yesterday.

Happy belated birthday, Marydoll and glad to hear your great nephew is on the mend, Bellasnanna.

Yesterday was a quiet day at the caravan. The weather was sunny so I had the patio doors open all day. We have enclosed decking on 2 sides with a lockable gate so the little chap can play outside to his heart's content.
We have a washing machine so I did some washing. So much easier than the handwashing I used to do with our previous caravan. He loves playing with the pegs ( and hiding them ! 😄)

Today we are driving to Bangor to pick up DH who is arriving by train.
We haven't decided whether to go to Beaumaris or to Cadnant Garden for lunch. We might go wild and do both!

Wishing everyone a good day. 🌻

Good morning from s somerset, grim sky and showers are coming

The allotment calls me first thing, I need to go and take fleeces off, I am thinking that the frost risk is over. After that I will get into weekend mode of not actually doing much a niksen weekend. I have a book to read and can bounce on my rebounder. I will get my walking done at the allotment

The week gone has been very satisfying wrt de-cluttering, several things have been passed on and will be re-used by family and strangers

Even my last crown prince squash has been dealt with, roasted and in the freezer and I have extracted all of its seeds, which are now washed and drying to have available for 2027 growing

I am waiting for a French ceramic bread bin to arrive, it will keep my sourdough fresh for far longer. My starter is very active now and I dehydrated a lot to store, belt and braces situation, I killed my old starter and gave up on making sourdough for too long. There is something very meditative about making my sd bread, always a slow calm job

Cleaning has been minimal this week, just enough and no more, old eyes help me not to see dust anyway

Thought and hopes are with several of you, no names needed

Meant to say the comment about the odds of winning a raffle prize due to more members made me laugh, Gagagran. That's the sort of comment that would be muttered at church.
Several years back one lady was most put out that the hydrangea was chosen by someone who drew an early prize. She reluctantly took something else for her prize but kept commenting that she'd really wanted the hydrangea. Needless to say the hydrangea stayed firmly in the grip of the early winner. 🤣

Good morning from the now usual grey Bristol. We still onl6 have had the lightest sprinkling of rain. And it’s still cold!
Thanks for the wishes for DGD; she reported back to say her exam, which she was dreading, had “gone ok”. 🤞
Our Spanish teacher told us that it was unlikely we would have a class next term as only 5 were attending/enrolled this term. Not sure if I’ll be free on other days for classes. So sad.
The hair salon went well, with one of the three talking her head off as usual. It can become very wearing.
Today, church coffee, then I’m cooking to take something to the church lunch after the PCC AGM. I suspect neither will be well attended!
I was told that our new Women’s Association has 19 fully paid up members and 17 have expressed interest. Not bad for a group ye5 to meet for the first time on Monday!

Good morning from a sunny Leicestershire. We had a lovely day yesterday and hoping for the same today.

Not much planned for today although I must do some admin I have been putting off!

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Grandmabatty Sat 16-May-26 06:32:23

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 2° and dry. Karma still a risk of frost here! GrandMattie that's a shame if your Spanish class folds. Bellasnana I hope the sleepover goes well. I don't imagine you will get much sleep!
Yesterday was quiet. I pottered about the house happily and got 3 washes done and hung out.
Today I will go to aldi and do the usual Saturday housework. I'm meeting up with family later for a coffee and I'm looking forward to that. Ds is coming over too as he needs his spare key back for a painter/decorator. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp and chilly out and will only reach 12°C today.

I had my counselling session yesterday and can feel how much I have come on as I’m becoming less tearful about past events and am gaining acceptance of my new normal albeit with occasional wobbles.

Anyway I’ve had my manicure done and now have ‘holiday nails’ snipped nice and short ready for Monday morning’s ✈️

grandMattie Sat 16-May-26 06:38:42

bellas, what a treat if very tiring. Hope all goes well. ❤️
None of my DGDs ever came for a sleepover, but we had our DGS every week until he stared secondary school! It was a magical and precious time. DH was so happy.

Good morning from a chilly but bright corner of La Sarthe.

Yesterday we fetched Perry home from the cattery and he quickly settled in without any of the sulky standoffish behaviour to which we are sometimes subjected! After being out all night he popped in for breakfast and has headed off again.

My DGS2 is 16 today! I clearly remember him being born. His Mum, DD2, was teaching Y6 and it was the last day of SATS. She walked into the staff room and her waters broke! She had been due to start her maternity leave the following day. Now he’s sitting his GCSE's and seems to be coping well.

Wishing everyone a happy weekend. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

That’s great to hear, FriedGreenTomatoes. You are doing well. I hope you find summery weather to match your nails! ☀️

Gagagran Sat 16-May-26 06:50:33

Morning all from a sunny (with clouds building) central south coast. 4degrees at 6am so the warmth due by next weekend has not yet started to show.

We are catching up on laundry this morning and I have some desk duties sorting out a just matured regular saver. DH is still trying to track down our missing patio furniture which has been paid for but not delivered. Very poor customer service and we shall avoid the company in any future purchases.

My aches and pains have eased a bit as I have increased my painkillers and it has given me hopes of being able to sing in the choir concert on 13 June. I have booked a hair appointment for that morning as I have a reputation to live up to of always having my hair done for the concerts! The rest of the time I usually do it myself.

Had a long whatsapp chat with DGD2 yesterday and she has promised to come and see us in early June. I know we don't have favourite grandchildren but she is a bit special to me as we looked after her a lot as a baby and travelled long distances at short notice more than once to do so.

Hope all plans come to fruition today and burdens are eased for those carrying them. {sunshine]

Good morning from south Glos, it’s a chilly, cloudy start here, disappointingly cold at 5° amid unlikely to get much above 12° today.
Yesterday my courgette plug plants arrived, very healthy looking, so I have potted them up and put them in the window of my Shed, it’s too cold for them outside at the moment. I also have runner and french beans on order to arrive next month.
I did waver about bothering to grow any but my love of fresh, garden-grown vegetables prevails!
I made tuna fish cakes yesterday, I haven’t made fish cakes for years, so we’ll have some for dinner and I will freeze the remaining ones.
I enjoyed one with sauté courgette, very tasty.
Today I have nothing planned except starting a new embroidery, I’m so enjoying doing this while listening ta podcast or audiobooks.
I love your nails FGT, I’m afraid I wreck nail varnish in minutes and gel nails ruin my nails. I don’t know why but for some odd reason my nails flake away if I have gels or BIAB. I hope your trip goes well despite being so difficult and poignant for you 🤗
Little going on here today, I don’t mind one bit 😊
Best wishes to you all x
🌹

Good morning. I’m now in Suffolk with DD1. We are going out for brunch and a wander in Woodbridge.
This afternoon we are at a wedding so hoping for at least a drj day as the ceremony is outside.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.
