LIGHTHEARTED THREAD πŸ˜†

That wonderful Bulgarian song won Eurovision last night, (I went to bed before the result), and there's a great word to describe the present chaotic world situation.

Bangaranga!!!!! Meaning commotion or disturbance.

The staging was brilliant, probably not far off a cabinet meeting scenario! Well done Dara! (Wasn't there a Dana who won once too!)

We, the UK, came bottom, with un point ! That just about sums things up!

Bangaranga!!!!

very different yo the days of when Volare was the third best song chosen in the 1958 year of the Eurovision Song Contest. Even though it didn’t win it became a very popular song.

I love hearing all the music from different countries. But only 5.2m British people watched the ESC final this year compared with 8m two years ago. Would the disillusioned among you be interested if the UK did better? And would the UK do better if we took it more seriously? We seem to be caught in a death spiral.

I think a lot of people boycotted it this year as did I.

I doubt it Maybee70 much more likely that people realise that it’s getting worse as time goes on.

Three hours was just too much. I expect many people might have got bored even if they started to watch it; as more and more countries join it will obviously become longer and longer. Many trying to outdo each other trying to be more and more outlandish.

I had heard a small part of the UK entry and knew it was a dud.

We never watch - it used to be good in the old days with Katy Boyle. Then it was hilarious with Terry Wogan. Now it is just boring and our entries are abysmal.

Absolute drivel.

We usually watch it just to laugh and groan and because it's only once a year. We didn't watch it this year, but I looked up the results online just before it ended and watched a few recaps. It was definitely the best song that won but sort of reminded me of other similar things before. I thought the other dancers should have had credit as well as Dara as they were hugely integral to her act.
