Caring for HW Dementia is making me so tired, not the tired that sleep can fix

I thought I was strong enough for this. I have navigated all the POA and AA. But there is so little support. Family have their own lives and rarely impact ours.
See friends from time to time, but it’s too sporadic to alleviate the day to day.
Organise endless trips, things to do to occupy the time that he cannot fill himself anymore.
I am worn out.
Any tips that anyone has found to help?..

Finding a local dementia. Group and regular meet-ups with people going through the same process, made my life so much happier.I have belonged to the group for nearly 10 years now and most of the original sufferers have now died but the cares are now lifelong friends and I continue to enjoy their company

I m not at all sure what the HW stands for in your title but when my mum was still at home with Alzheimer’s we got a lot of hints and ideas where to get help, from her social worker She went to care centre one day a week to give dad a rest, and there were charities like Alzheimer’s etc who had ‘volunteers ‘ come in to, perhaps sit with her for an hour while we had a rest or went to the shops. Nothing to do with Alzheimer’s but when Dad was on his own there was also volunteers who would ring once a week for a chat or come in for an hour or two to play cards or chat while I got a break It s well worth looking at various charity groups for help

I suggest you look at the Alzheimer's Society website, contact Admiral Nurses and AgeUk.

The Admiral Nurses are really good at signposting.
