Caring for HW Dementia is making me so tired, not the tired that sleep can fix

The Admiral Nurses are really good at signposting.

I m not at all sure what the HW stands for in your title but when my mum was still at home with Alzheimer’s we got a lot of hints and ideas where to get help, from her social worker She went to care centre one day a week to give dad a rest, and there were charities like Alzheimer’s etc who had ‘volunteers ‘ come in to, perhaps sit with her for an hour while we had a rest or went to the shops. Nothing to do with Alzheimer’s but when Dad was on his own there was also volunteers who would ring once a week for a chat or come in for an hour or two to play cards or chat while I got a break It s well worth looking at various charity groups for help

Finding a local dementia. Group and regular meet-ups with people going through the same process, made my life so much happier.I have belonged to the group for nearly 10 years now and most of the original sufferers have now died but the cares are now lifelong friends and I continue to enjoy their company
