Several of you have said that you will be spending some of the Bank Holiday reading your book in the sunshine ( or the shade. ) So what are you all reading and enjoying at the moment? I am reading " This book made me think of you " by Libby Page and really enjoying it. I shall be sorry to come to the end of it.

Flashlight by Susan Choi.
It is a long book! Sort of family chronicle that encompasses US, Korea and Japan.

I thought Flashlight was an unusual and engrossing story.

I'm reading in the garden right now, "High and Low" by Amanda Craig

henetha I've read all of the Nicci French books, have you read the Freida Klein series? If not, I recommend them.
I'm reading What you are looking for in a Library by Michiko Aoyama. Totally different to anything I read before, a gift from DD, really enjoying it.

Proust! Swann's Way. (in translation.)
For my second Reading Group.
Not nearly as terrifying as I feared, but needs concentration. This is the ideal weather, lying on a sun lounger under a tree pretending to be French.

I'm re-reading the Wolf Hall trilogy. Having blazed my way through 'Wolf Hall' and 'Bring Up the Bodies' I've got stuck half through 'The Mirror and the Light' once again. I forgot I never finished it last time and found a bookmark half way through so I am 7 pages further than last time. But for some reason I am finding it really hard work - I don't know if it's because I know what is coming or if the writing is just 'boggier' than the other two books...

'Just One Thing' by the late Dr Michael Mosley. Worth every penny.

Something by The Secret Barrister. It's on my Kindle, so I can't remember the title, but it's about a court case (murder) seen from the perspectives of the various protagonists - the defendants, the lawyers etc. I'm enjoying it.

Pigma

The latest Jane Harper, Last One Out. Thoroughly hooked. Love her crisp, clean style of writing, doesn’t over play her hand but my goodness she packs a punch. Great stuff!

I've not long finished this book and loved it, too. It was slow paced but a riveting story. She's such a good author.

I have spent this weekend pet sitting for my family. Knowing that I would have time on my hands after walking the dog early in the morning and watering the vegetable garden in the evening, I picked up a book in the local charity shop. It's a novel by an author I have not come across before. Alice Feeney. The book is called Beautiful Ugly. A Sunday Times and New York Times best seller.
I cannot think why this book is a best seller, but I intend to plod on to the end in the hope of enlightenment.
Atm I'm sitting in the garden, under the parasol but I think soon it will be too hot to stay outside.
I only have a quarter of the book left to read.
Happy reading everyone. smile
