Disappearing contributers

Central to this one of US has pressed ‘Report’ and I find that really sad every time I think on.

Whoever pressed Report is not and never will be one of US!

My feeling is that HQ fear creating a precedent. The reinstatement of a banned poster should not be taken lightly but hopefully, in this case, good sense will prevail.

Good morning Allira I’m another one who is totally baffled by this, and sincerely hope that we get you back before too long.

I have reported people and like I thought turned out they were a troll. Few years ago I got suspended for a week because I fought back against a banned poster who was let back on under another name . She must have through I and others were stupid as she wrote the same things she had before. She accused me of abusing my son. So I fought back . And I got suspended for a week but I had to fight to beable to post again . While she was free to post what she wanted for a couple of years before getting banned again. She deserved banning . But some who have been banned helped others I know one in particular who helped me and many others with free legal advice . Those who have been on GN for years know who I am talking about as she was an expert.

We do have some weird posters recently I reported 3 as they where selling drugs ,we have had witch doctors offering to cure cancer etc and other ludicrous things.

I know people don't like what I post as I have has abusive private messages but I just delete them they are not worth my time. They do it that way because if they posted openly there posts would be deleted and possibly banned.

If people don't like what I write don't read it. But what I post about is what I have experienced I would never dream of posting about any I had not experienced or had first hand knowledge of.

The big question is ….How can one person influence HQ to ban someone for life when they ve done nothing conceivable wrong, except perhaps make a jokey post that was taken the wrong way AND with no warning surely, even in the lowest of circumstances you have to have a warning !
No one here has seen anything offensive posted by Allira What rules has she broken ? How can one person have this much influence on HQ , how can this person have disliked Allira so much and why ? what is there to dislike
and why are HQ refusing to engage with us do they realise they have got it so wrong and are just hoping we ll all forget about it. How can we all be held to ransom like this sorry but I m not buying the ‘they re on half term’ bit

Come on HQ talk to us, explain to us, silence tells us there is no defence, we should not all be afraid to speak out against wrongful actions either on here or in real life

I hope the mods will reconsider. I always found Allira supportive. I can’t imagine what she wrote or who she offended that prompted the ban.

Allira has always been a voice of sparky but gentle humour, and has diffused many threads that were teetering on the edge of unpleasantness.

I imagine they are silent because they can't discuss posters with other posters. I know this is frustrating but also perfectly understandable. I think it is possible they may change their mind ( although as I say I have only seen that happen once on both GN and MN) but I don't think they will discuss another poster.

I agree they can't and shouldn't discuss another poster with us, but I'd hope they could come on, say they're aware of the level of concern and alarm the banning of a popular poster has caused. Maybe they could go so far as to say that given the level of disbelief this poster could possibly have done anything to warrant a ban they are looking again at the reported posts. It's the silence and apparent intransigence that is so frustrating.
Surely it should concern them that we can't believe PhilipGransnet's supposed assurance in his single page 1 post has been applied in this case?

However much it disgusts and repels us, the poster/posters that viciously targeted Allira do constitute part of the GN 'us'.
I live in hope, but won't hold my breath, that the condemnation of them and their actions may cause some self reflection. I fear that such bitter and twisted people are incapable of this humanity.

I believe Allira was targeted because of her beliefs on a certain topic. There are people on here who detest anybody who thinks differently to them. They get nowhere with their argument so they hit the report button.

I firmly believe in Karma though.

Gransnet HQ repeatedly state they are not influenced by Reports when operating a suspension or ban.
It would be courteous to publish the reason, if only to prevent other posters from falling into the same trap.
This arbitrary suspension without explanation is, intentionally or not, curtailing free speech.

I just don't know why she would be banned in the first place

I have had an acknowledgment of my reporting a post on this thread.
