Good morning from a grey Bristol. Rain is again forecast, but this has been a very dry few months here and I’m not sure we’ll have any.
I’m glad all went well yesterday, Mick and trust that the same will happen today.
The meet-up was fine, though only NannaJane and Parience made it. We had only a short meeting as granniemay had a doctor’s appointment.
Today, we have the live concert at FAB cafe, and we are expecting between 60 and 120 attendees. The forecast might put them off. I shall be busy!
Quiet afternoon to recover after that.
May your day be peaceful and contented.

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny and 23°C rising to 34°C later.

Had a bit of a frustrating morning yesterday. On the way back from a successful trip to buy a seat cushion for an outdoor bench, I decided to call in at Transport Malta to obtain the renewal forms for my driving licence which expires soon.

As I’m now approaching a significant birthday, I needed a form for the doctor to fill out and a helpful chap on the door told me there is a doctor at a nearby pharmacy so off I went and was lucky enough to catch said doctor just before he left.

I passed the eye test and other questions, then back I went to the licensing office where I sat for about half an hour only to get to the counter and be told I need a recent passport sized photo. Grr. So I shall have to go and wait all over again.

I have Milo dog today so an early walk will be necessary. Then there’s tennis to watch. I saw a lot yesterday, not with the results I’d been hoping for but that’s life!

Wishing you all a good day whatever you’re doing.🤗

Good morning from Sheffield
I had a dentist appointment yesterday to see about a tooth that has been bothering me for a while.
As expected it needs to be extracted. The lovely dentist prescribed me antibiotics to treat the infection and I go back in a month for the extraction. The problem is the antibiotic I was prescribed. I have only taken two tablets but the headache it has caused is unbearable. I shall ring them this morning to see if they can prescribe a different one. I’ve been awake most of the night. This can’t be right at all
I am working today so it’s going to be a long day
Take care everyone flowers

As promised, here is the tale of my adventure at sea. Our ferry was very late in on Monday night having been held up in leaving Ouistreham due to the large number on board and then being further delayed by a technical fault in the engine later in the voyage, according to the captain.

I had the most peculiar cabin, which I think would normally have been used by truck drivers as it was very basic. (my machine refuses to post the photo!) Since there was no bedside table, I had to put my spectacles and hearing aids in my shoe for safekeeping!

It was very busy with many vehicles on board, including three coach loads of school children. The one good part of the trip was that I was helped through the cafeteria. I had complained that there was no table service for those of us who need to use a stick when walking. Once the children had been served, I was escorted by some charming staff who carried my tray, etc as I selected my meal which was delicious. Bythe time we had walked to my table a queue of prospective customers had formed who were probably wondering about the identity of the little old lady receiving such courteous service!

The ferry was the Guillaume de Normandie, a fairly new addition to the Brittany Ferries fleet which runs on LPG, when it works! We had a long wait in torrential rain at Immigration due to the volume of passengers so it was after midnight when I reached the sanctuary of my Travelodge room!

However, in the context of serious illnesses, pain and an explosion in Malta, my experiences pale into insignificance. Thinking of all of those are struggling and wishing you some relief from your struggles.

Happy hump day!

PS. Good morning from a dull and breezy Torbay - yes, thanks, everyone, I'm safely home.

Good morning, it’s cloudy and damp here on the hillside in south Glos, more rain forecast but we had very little rain yesterday; the washing dried nicely on the line 😊
This morning is going to be busy; I need to take three returns to the post office then drive down to the hairdressers.
From there I will drive into town to cash the car tax refund cheque, get my watch strap repaired, a new battery for another watch and I need some bits and pieces from the supermarket.
Hopefully the rain will hold off until I get home!
Ouch Melanie61, I sympathise! I hope a different antibiotic will help.
Best wishes to you all 🌹

Good morning everyone from an airport hotel at Milan, we stayed here last night and are getting the Edinburgh flight back this morning
Thank you all for your kind words, we’ve enjoyed such a lovely holiday, it seems ages since we were visiting DS in Basel
Our train arrived yesterday afternoon from Tirano at Milan central station- it was so big, busy and chaotic! I was pleased though that we successfully found and then negotiated the busy metro system to get us to the hotel which is fine. There was a very big thunderstorm here last night with lots of lightning, I was so pleased we weren’t flying home then
Pleased you’re safely home Ash but what a journey! I’m hoping the queues at the airport this morning aren’t too bad but we’re allowing lots of time just in case
Hope you get some different tablets melanie
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Morning all from Malta. We are having a day in Valletta so need to have breakfast soon!

It is sunny and hot here but rain in the UK I hear. Always good for garden. OH set up an automatic watering system before we left.

My daughter is currently in Malaga for a few days - she used to live there - and tells me it is scorchio!

Have a good day everyone

Good morning from showery and dull s somerset

An indoor day for me today but I have jobs to do

Gosh I was busy yesterday and my first task was to bottom the en suite. Then I decided to dismantle a heavy electrical kitchen appliance for de-cluttering, that took some strength and now my sore shoulder is back. The appliance is now in my boot for the tip, still heavy but a bit more manageable

Sitting having my lunch I decided I might as well carry on with the de-cluttering mojo and I took 7 large bright and cheerful art works off my walls, all hand painted by the same artist, sadly now deceased at a young age. I remember buying them all, one at a time from her, because I needed to quickly make an uplifting space for myself in my new home., as a widow.

They are all original watercolours. My DDs want all of them, so I went on a hunt to find the authenticity certificates, took me over an hour

The pictures, which I had professionally framed after buying, are all now in the garage. I re-positioned three of my remaining pictures and a red Scandi clock and have made completely fresh areas in my home.

The worst part was the screws, 13 of them and they have strong rawlplugs, I only cut the tops off the plugs and pushed them back in a little bit, using a short dowel and a hammer but I had 13 areas of broken plaster to fix, I had to use. a carpenters pliers to ease the plugs out a bit for cutting. Plaster coat number one went on last night, I am getting better and quicker at that job. Plaster coat 2 will go on today and will need to harden before I start the fine sanding tomorrow, prior to painting. I will be finished by saturday and no-one will ever see where the picture were hanging

It feels as though I am re-setting my surroundings, while I can, ready for my old age. A psychological thing

Good morning from a rainy, mild Cornwall where if I had an umbrella I'd be outside on my patio swing seat. Must buy one! I sawed down my echium yesterday as it has finished flowering and I wanted to clear the space it had invaded, so today I must drag it up into my wild wood and let it dry. It will become almost as hard as bamboo and I'll use the stalk as a fence post eventually.

This morning I'm off to a very posh nursery set in country house grounds a bus ride away to buy a vinca minor alba, a small white periwinkle. While I'm there I'll explore their lovely grounds. Hoping their pop-up café is open but if not I'll have brunch at Wetherspoons when I get home.

Welcome back Ash after your interesting voyage! 😄

Good morning from cloudy Leicestershire.

Had a very stressful night with many worries going round in my head. It would be nice if just one thing in our little family could go right.
We are going to Whitstable tomorrow and there is even rain forecast

The dentist yesterday told me he wants to cap 6 of my front teeth because they have the odd filling. He says it will change my smile. I told him I was quite happy with my smile!

We are meeting friends for coffee this morning so hope that will cheer me up as I am feeling very down.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning everyone!
Glad your meetup worked out GrandMattie.

Toothache is miserable, Melanie61.

Yesterday evening I spent nearly 2 hours in the garden potting up a dozen geraniums to go by the front door and doing some general tidying up.
I do the same each summer because they are tough enough to survive when I'm away at the caravan. DH isn't a natural gardener but he can cope with a watering schedule to keep them going in my absence.

This morning I'll take the little chap to Toddler Group then we have a friend coming for lunch.

Wishing everyone a good day. 🌻

Good morning from N. Bucks. where the forcast is cool and a good chance of rain. ☹️
Ironing and a couple of sponge cakes to make today and then I will try to finish the watercolour that we started at art class last week.
This evening we have our WI garden party. Hmm , looks like plan B may have to be activated.
Wishing you all a good day with a smile along the way.
