Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and bright. Enjoy your last day on holiday Fgt.
Yesterday I was thwarted from doing much in the school library, but in the nicest way. I had cleared the trolley and put books away when half the nursery appeared to use the communal space. Immediately there were shouts of "It's S.... grandma," and wee ones came up wanting to talk to me and tell me things. It was really sweet but they couldn't focus on what they were supposed to be doing- a singing game with actions- so I quietly left. At home, I pottered about but the weather wasn't great so no gardening. Ds sent me photos of his team night out.
Today will be quiet. I will get washing done and some housework but no other plans. The school was due to have a family picnic, an annual event, but it's been postponed because of bad weather. Have a good day all.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright sunny start to the day
I’m looking forward to meeting a friend for a coffee at the local garden centre this morning and then onto the gym for a dance class. I’m looking forward to getting back to the gym and catching up with the lovely ladies there. DD2 is away tonight so Dgd is coming for a sleepover and bringing their new puppy with her. It’ll be a first for us so hoping it goes ok
Safe travels latedecember, Gingster and everyone else on the move today
What a hassle over the car windscreen GrannyIvy but enjoy the celebrations today
The nursery children sound so lovely grandmabatty
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle. Will it last until I can get out into the garden?
Yesterday I pottered through various chores, I was tired, tired, tired after a poor night's sleep. After lunch, I could have managed a little gardening but when I popped out briefly to test the air, I found the air was a stiff, chilly wind so said 'no thanks' and retreated inside for the rest of the day.
I abandoned my Kafka book, it got really tedious and a flip through showed more of the same. I've read a lot of challenging books but 'tedious' I can't take, life's too short. I won't start another before my visitors come, I'll reduce my pile of magazines.

Today, a few tidying jobs and a bit of kitchen cleaning, and I still haven't tackled those skirting boards! I also have a wine delivery so can't go out, not when the slot is 8am to 8pm...

Wishing you all the best possible day.

Enjoy the beach FGT2

You have done remarkably well these last weeks 😘

Good morning, everyone. This is Oscar my resident fox. He spends most mornings treating the garden as though he owns it then saunters off when I begin my usual outdoor routine. I never feed him as that would be a huge mistake. My garden is part of his territory as most of the others around here are paving and astroturf, whereas mine is wildlife friendly. The only damage he has done is chewing the plastic top off my water feature where he drinks so he could get more of a flow. I was hanging the washing out at the time. What a clever fox!
I hope to spend today gardening if the forecast is correct and there is some respite from the wind and rain.
I hope you all have the bet possible day.

Good morning to everyone from Wiltshire. It’s actually sunny this morning for the first time since last Sunday.

Yesterday we went to the large Waitrose on the outskirts of Swindon which we shop in every few weeks. DH managed to drop a jar of sun dried tomatoes on the floor at the checkout which made a huge mess with all that olive oil! The staff were very good about it.

Reading of the escapades of your DGS2 GB re: the body gel, reminded me of what happened before we went on holiday last month. We had our two youngest for a sleepover while their parents were at a wedding. The next morning they were “playing” upstairs and unbeknown to us, DGS2 found my haircutting scissors in a drawer and decided to give himself a diy haircut. It wasn’t very obvious at first as he has very thick wavy hair. Now it has had to be cut short round the back. He looks completely different and much older. I think we all miss his lovely light copper curls although it’s been retained on top. I found a lot of hair under my dressing table after they went home. Photo only shows some of it.

I’m so pleased your cataract op went well BlueSapphire. I hope it makes a big difference for you.

Have a Good Friday everyone. Safe journey home FGTs. Thanks for your photos.

Morning from a bright, cooler S Hants after wet Thursday.
Enjoy your last day FGT aurevoir not goodbye, it’s been restorative for you.
Safe journey to the travellers today.
I keep being bitten overnight, MrJ is fine, so I’ve ordered a plug in mozzie killer, memories of hot holidays!
Tesco will deliver today and some light domestic duties need to be done. Pub tonight for a catch up, I’ve new trainers to break in.
Have a good day all,

Good morning all my post and pics from yesterday seems to have disappeared into cyberspace instead of posting grrrrr

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 11°C

I have had very little sleep, I am in a lot of pain. Maximum pain relief, is not even touching the pain. Any increase in dosage would make me unable to function.

I managed to get four another four bags to the charity shop yesterday, with the help of DH. I drove, but I needed him to lift them. He spent the whole time, telling me how to drive and park. Grrrr!

The lights under the railway were out of sync, I had to go through the red light, 😱because they were stuck at red on my side.😭
Reporting the fault will a my priority this morning. The Roads Engineer and I have become good friends. 😉

Yesterday, I discovered a bag of clothes for Babydoll, which must have been meant for her birthday in April. DIL will be delighted.
My plan is to take DH to see her on Sunday. I got her a carved wooden, sign made for her new tree house, which says; Babydoll's House.

The P.P was only a few hours into his journey to Rome, when I was faced with problems.
The supply priest didn't turn up for Mass, the P. P had given me a list of things, he wanted done, but the curate had asked the Deacon and Sacristan to do the exact opposite. Cue a number of phone calls to resolve it. The usually vocal young curate was rather subdued.
Today, we have an elderly, retired priest and the children from both schools are coming. The P.P has asked me to be there, the visiting priest isn't good at engaging with children, his own words, not ours!

I wish you all a pleasant day and take care, all who are travelling,
Takeaway tonight, At lunchtime yesterday, I realised it was the 50 year anniversary of our engagement in the grounds of Glasgow University after my last exam,
DH hadn't remembered all!!!.🤣

Glammagran I'm off to hide the scissors!

Good morning from a brightish Essex.
We had torrential rain yesterday that seemed to go on for ages. Fortunately we were already at DD’s and not on the motorway.

Today we are heading into Kent and hoping for dryer weather.
Our DS and GC will meet us there.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

harrigran Fri 05-Jun-26 08:32:48

Good morning from a sunny but very windy NE.
Heating was on again this morning.
Nothing planned for today so will do some housework and file paperwork as my desk is getting cluttered.
DS will visit tomorrow but GD is still busy with GCSEs and is revising at home. I have been promised she will visit next weekend, I do miss her piano playing.
Have a good day.

hollysteers Fri 05-Jun-26 08:38:17

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast.
I took myself off for a drive into the country yesterday, notwithstanding the uninspiring weather and really enjoyed it, tootling along listening to classic fm and looking at the glories of nature, even though the surrounding countryside here is not the loveliest in the land.

I had lunch in an old courtyard cafe, served indifferently even though there were only two people in the whole place.
This morning to art and I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your art group member luluaugust.

It’s my sister in London’d birthday today, so I will phone her later.
Thoughts to all 🌺

Good morning from Lancashire.
I haven’t had my nose through the curtains but it does feel cold this morning.
In the bath, ready to rinse my hair but the boiler has decided to conk out for the second time this week.
So just stewing until hubby gets it going again 🙄
Taking my friend out for lunch, (she has Alzheimer’s) so
It’s good to know FGT ‘it’s ’national fish & chip day’ that’s what she has anytime we go out 😊
Have good last day FGT. Hope the airport isn’t too crazy tomorrow for your trip back to Blighty 🙏

Georgesgran Fri 05-Jun-26 08:52:27

Good Morning from Durham. Brilliant blue sky, but windy and cool, with rain forecast later.
DGS2 is 5 today - it’s flown by. So sad that DH died just a few weeks before he was born. He’d have adored him, as do I.
DD2 and I have nail appointments at lunchtime, then I’m going into Newcastle for a bit of a wander, before we collect the birthday boy from school and take him out for tea.
Later, I’m bringing Little Dog here for the weekend, so it’s less for them to deal with, while preparing for DGS2’s party on Sunday.

Best wishes to all. X

WhiteSwan63 Fri 05-Jun-26 08:53:32

Good morning from the east coast it’s a windy morning.

I’ll go to the gym later this morning. This afternoon we need to go looking for a couple of nice empty garden pots and some plants to do for our son’s patio. It’s his lovely girlfriend’s birthday and she likes the garden. He also asked if we’d get a couple of banners to put up. He’s taking her away for a couple of nights to a lodge with hot tub. It was so lovely watching DGS write a card to her. DS wrote it on a piece of paper and GS copied it. He breaks my heart that boy.
We will go to M&S as well for some tasty picky bits for tea.

I’ve filled in an online Drs form this morning to request blood tests. I’m supposed to have them every year for my coeliac disease but don’t ever get called. I’m piling on weight and I can’t lose it. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been. I eat really well and excersise. I’m wondering if I’m insulin resistant but something is going on. We’ll see if I get an appointment. My only vice is I like a glass of red wine. 🤷‍♀️

Wishing a lovely day for you all with a moment of joy 🌼

GrannySomerset Fri 05-Jun-26 09:02:19

Cool and showery this morning but I have an indoor day - oldies’ coffee morning and bridge this afternoon - so it doesn’t really matter. Am looking out at the garden where the roses are the best they have ever been despite my attention. Has anyone else noticed the same thing?

Glad to hear that FGT has enjoyed her brave holiday, sorry that MD is still struggling, and hope we all have a good day.

Good Morning from a sunny but chilly Co Armagh
Years ago I got a pot of Erigon , now my brick wall is covered in it , it’s got very has very strong roots so I can’t pull it out ,
I wouldn’t let it seed onto the drive way , I’m not a fan of weed killer but I zapped it there , I love it through other plants

aggie Fri 05-Jun-26 09:43:18

It’s growing through a tiny briar rose here

Marzipan22 Fri 05-Jun-26 11:10:11

It's a lovely plant aggie because it blends in with so many other plants. Nice photo. 😊
