Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry with light grey clouds
A very Happy 80th Birthday dragonfly enjoy your very special day today ! 🎂🥂💐
Yesterday afternoon turned out quite warm and sunny so I enjoyed being outside in the garden. Not too many weeds thank goodness but lots of pruning and tidying up, things have been growing very quickly. More of the same today and then I’ve a dance class to look forward to this evening
Have a lovely holiday nannyJan, safe travels to you and everyone on the move today, enjoy Cyprus Georgesgran 😎
Gagagran ❤️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Just spoken to DS in Tanzania. I suggested he should bring some spices as presents when he comes back. He told me h3 has a kilo of cinnamon, ditto of cloves! 😮

WhiteSwan63 Mon 15-Jun-26 08:01:40

Good morning from the east coast.
Happy birthday Dragonfly

Yesterday we pottered in the garden DH working hard and me advising where necessary. It’s looking really nice. I was mostly on magpie watch though. We have so many baby birds and they pick them off one by one. I don’t mind them when they are feeding off the ground. We have a magpie family but I gently quietly shoo them out of the tree.
DHs sister and partner popped in and we spent a pleasant hour chatting over a cuppa.

Today I need to shop for gifts of my brother’s grandchildren who we are visiting over next weekend. I’ll get them an outfit and a toy each. I’ll be picking GS up from school later.

Have a lovely day. Thoughts to those struggling with stress and illness. 🌼

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I think rain is forecast but it feels warm.

Dragonfly🌹

We had a good weekend. Younger son came back for the weekend after our Buyer’s Day jaunt at the Summer Exhibition. I may have bought a tiny something! Actually, it was the best exhibition we’ve been to since the Grayson Perry curated one a few years ago.

We had lunch out yesterday and afterwards I drove son to Oxford to get his train while OH visited his bees. The new Queen (who we have named Camilla) is doing well at the moment. The bees could still turn on hersad

Cleaning lady is due this morning. I have a Waitrose shop to do. Then I’m popping into our nearest Garden Centre (family run, no cafe!) to buy some hanging basket plants,

Our nearly 16-year old cat Ripley seems to be failing. At their annual checkup in March we were told that she and Milo were doing ok but because of their age could go downhill anytimesad we are doing our best for them and giving them their favourite food. I’m always a bit nervous when I go down in the morning and wonder what I’ll find.

Have a wonderful day.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk and good wishes dragonfly for a happy 60th birthday.

We had a delicious lunch with DS and his tribe yesterday although them journey through the back roads to Aldeburgh was horrendous with so many closed because of the Sizewell construction. It took 65 mins rather than 30 but luckily DDinL went separately and could explain our delay.

A quiet day here today and hoping I can ignore the ever growing pile of ironing. Hope all have a good day.

ginny Mon 15-Jun-26 08:19:06

Good morning, grey and raining here .
We were lucky yesterday and sat out for our family meal. DD1 bought our injured Grandson who looked well despite hobbling on crutches and needing painkillers. Sadly DD 3 was not able to come due to a virus and one SIL was having a bad day with his ongoing spinal condition.
Some clearing up and housework this morning and the WI knitting group will be here this afternoon .
Happy birthday Dragonfly,
Gaga hope you soon feel less sore.
Safe journeys to all on the move and a good day wished for you all.

Gingster Mon 15-Jun-26 08:21:19

Good morning and it’s rather overcast here in Essex.

Yesterday ds1 and DIL popped in for coffee. He attempted to get me a new phone but the cost is too high. It isn’t worth it for me only using it for text messages and a few phone calls.
How do people, youngsters, oldies ,families do it?
I’ll stick with my old one perhaps get a new battery.

We enjoyed the Raducanu match but disappointed with the result. More tennis today, we love the tennis season.

I’ll do a small shop locally today and go with DIL to the large Sainsbury on Thursday.

Happy birthday dragonfly. Have a lovely day.
Gagagran that video must have been heartbreaking for you, although a lovely goodbye from your big brother. 🙏.

It looks like rain is approaching now ☔️.

Take care 🌺

Good morning all from the Norfolk coast. We have been out of signal for the last few days which made me realise just how much we rely on the internet.
Happy birthday dragonfly I hope you have a lovely day and belated wishes to any I’ve missed in recent days.
The highlight of recent days has been the seals on the beach . I’ll attempt to post a pic.
Today we are heading in the direction of home but it will be a few days yet before we arrive. DH is exhausted already with all the driving- he’s not as young as he used to be but don’t tell him!
Take care everyone 🌸

Good morning, it’s a dry and bright start to the day here in South Lanarkshire.

Gagagran ❤️

Happy birthday dragonfly!

Yesterday was busy but enjoyable although DH was suffering from lack of sleep after being out all night watching Scotland play football.

Today I will take a trip to the shops to stock up on sunscreen and bug repellent for our holiday. No doubt I’ll find one or two ‘just in case’ things to fill up any little space in my luggage.wink

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Gingster Mon 15-Jun-26 08:25:02

Liberty how annoying that the short journey took twice the time. Those roads are always being closed but also they leave the ‘Road Closed’ signs up and actually you can get through.,

Glad you enjoyed your lunch anyway.🤗

GrannyGravy13 Mon 15-Jun-26 08:29:33

Good morning from an overcast S E Essex where is summer 🤷‍♀️

I need to sort out GC’s bedroom and playroom, before The Imp comes for his weekly sleepover tonight. Whether or not I do it before or after the gym depends is up for debate…

dragonfly wishing you a very happy birthday 🍾🥂🎂🎉

Stilllearning Mon 15-Jun-26 08:31:09

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, lovely blue sky at the moment.

Happy Birthday dragonfly, enjoy your day.

Gagagran, that was a horrible fall, you are being very stoic about it. I feel for you receiving that goodbye message from your ‘big brother*, I have found it a very touching way to describe your relationship, 💐

I have just returned at the weekend from my holiday in Tuscany with my sister and brother-in-law. It was really good and the temperature stayed in the high twenties which was manageable. We were with a group and had very good guides in both Florence and Sienna whose pride in their towns was very evident. The only thing was how busy everywhere was and I realised how lucky we were to have been able to explore the region many years ago when it was much quieter.
Our hotel was in the countryside just outside a walled hilltop village and I think that was the best bit for me!

The Wi-Fi reception was not great and I had an enforced break so I tried to catch up when I came home and send good wishes for all the trials and tribulations people are going through just now.

Grammaretto Mon 15-Jun-26 08:32:27

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Overcast. Our walking group will be on the Border Hills today and if my back isn't too sore, Ill be with them. 😯
I had to use an icepack in the night.

A good documentary last night at the community cinema. Everybody to Kenmore Street. About the power of a Glasgow community to overcome injustice.

I think I did too much gardening and decluttering yesterday, hence the aching back .

Happy birthday Dragonfly enjoy your special day. 🤩🎊

Sorry about your fall Gagagran take it easy.

Wishing everyone a great day and good holidays for those travelling.

Greyduster Mon 15-Jun-26 08:35:07

Happy Birthday, Dragonfly! Have a super day🎂🎉🍷.

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Jun-26 08:36:12

Llfl is Ripley named after the character in Alien?

hollysteers Mon 15-Jun-26 08:43:06

Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast.
Sorted out suitcases yesterday. Keeping two ready to go, one small and one large, became too confusing. My flying DD can come up with an offer of a trip anywhere and I also spend time in the south with her. I also hold on to various things that might be useful when travelling, leading to quite a build up.

A voice student from ages ago rang up out of the blue for a chat, which was nice and we might meet up in the not too distant future. It’s always nice to be remembered. Strange how one can be so important at one stage then completely forgotten. I did the same myself of course.

Phone calls to make today, doctor, DD, holiday insurance etc and an optician’s appointment this afternoon. Also need to decide what I’m going to sing tomorrow at the music club.

Birthday greetings dragonfly and thoughts to all🌺

Aldom Mon 15-Jun-26 08:57:19

Good morning everyone.
Grandmattie if your son gives you a lot of cloves perhaps you can make oranges, stuck with cloves and a ribbon to hang. You could sell them in the run up to Christmas?
I'm pottering at home this morning and shall go to Monday Club this afternoon.
Kindest thoughts to all.
