Good morning from sunny s somerset

I am dressed and ready for off, to the allotment by 6. I had a shorter sleep but my brain processed stuff for me as usual and I am going to dig up 6 shrubs in my flower/squash area. This is to make life a lot easier in the future. They have only been in for 18 months, hard clay ground so I will wet the soil first and am hoping a fork will do, I am taking my gorilla bar just in case

This afternoon I am with the crafting group so want to have a few hours at home in between

Yesterday was perfect, lovely weather and an extended cycle ride, incorporating an allotment visit and weeding the flower/squash area

I wanted a memory stick, to transfer all the sewing and knitting patterns stored on my computer. I found two memory sticks and got bogged down in de-cluttering that drawer. In process I looked into an external hard-drive, it is full of all the photos that DH transferred to disc, hundreds of them. A lovely surprise. I dumped about half of what was in that drawer and everything else is in zip lock, labelled, bags. Now future-proofed as easily identifiable

All my patterns are now safely stored on two sticks

I was awake before the bird. I was too warm so thought I might as well start my day and in a mo will go pack my car with allotment stuff.

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny with a forecast high of 33°C.

DD3 and the boys came over yesterday morning which was lovely. My home comes alive when they are here. They played in the paddling pool until it was time to go out for lunch, to which I was invited but declined as I preferred to stay at home.

Watched the tennis and had a nap. A lazy day.

The boys are coming this morning as they have no school (Foundation Day).

I was telling DD3 how much I missed the days when they were babies and I used to look after them every day so she immediately said I could have them today as she has plenty to be getting on with!

Sorry to hear of your nasty fall gagagran. I hope you are feeling ok and less sore. It’s such a shock when you fall. 💐

Wishing everyone a good day ☀️

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 8° and dry. Karma early bird and all that!
Yesterday I didnt do much. I cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen and hoovered but that was all. Lots of pottering.
Today is early childcare day and I had a very disturbed night again. Once I've dropped off the boys at school/nursery, I'll head home for a nap. Then back to the library to tidy up before picking up the boys. In between I will make chicken curry for dinner. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a grey Bristol. Perhaps we’ll get some proper sunshine today - it wasn’t warm enough for me to sit out yesterday.
I spent a quiet Sunday after church. I often have a cuppa with on3 or other neighbour but both were busy. I did, however, sew patchwork squares together and start the sashing (strips of contrasting fabric over the seams on the back)
Tesco today, then our not-WI meeting 🐦‍🔥. Not only have I already heard the talk but it’s about shops that were open in the distant past in the village. It really doesn’t appeal to me not having that sort of nostalgia.
May this week be gentle to you.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩❤️🦩

Good morning from Wiltshire.

Yesterday was not as sunny as Saturday had been and cloudy at times but still ok to have chicken roast dinner (only chicken went on bbq). Roasties and veg done indoors.

We are having GD3 and GS2 all day as their school has a teacher’s inset day. I’d totally forgotten until reminded yesterday evening. 🤦‍♀️. Will probably take them to Bowood and may take a picnic. GS in particular is like a dog insofar as he needs lots of exercising. 😂 Will take painkillers (hip) before leaving the house. Dinner will be rest of the chicken.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Sheffield

It’s a a friends 90 th birthday soon so I’m meeting a few friends for lunch to celebrate. One friend lives far away so it will be nice to see her and catch up

I will work this afternoon as normal.
We had a great bike ride yesterday although the path was a bit rough and bumpy, it’s made me feel achy this morning.
Take care everyone flowers

Good morning everyone. I'm back in Lancashire, having come home yesterday.
You wrote very comically about your fall into the rose bushes, Gagagran**, but what a shock for you. Hope you're feeling less battered this morning. 🤕

I know what you mean about August being a lonely month, **GrandMattie.
As a young mum and now a fulltime grandparent I'm already dreading the toddler group shutting from mid July til early September.
I know the volunteers who run it each week deserve a break, but I'll miss it. There are play cafes and soft play areas locally, but they are expensive.

Hope you manage to get your shrubs moved, **Karma. I'm always impressed with what you pack into a day.

Wishing you all the best day possible. 🌻

A much earlier good morning everyone from a cloudy Northampton. Up early as I have an early fasting blood test at the surgery - an annual routine one along with blood pressure etc. So can't have my usual mug of tea and biscuit until afterwards; but I think I might pop into the village bakery cafe on the way home.for a coffee and perhaps toast. Then visit the dentist opposite to make an appointment as I seem to have chipped a front tooth.

DS came down yesterday and, after a lawn mower lesson from me, kindly cut front and back lawns; I am not allowed to do anything like that until about 4 weeks after my cataract surgery. He also trimmed a few shrubs back.

I then went off to my afternoon concert which was lovely, but somewhat spoiled for me by the lady I was sitting next to who insisted on tapping her hand along to the beat all the way through- it was all I could see out of the corner of my eye, and it was so distracting. This is the second time I have found myself by pure chance sitting next to her! my heart sank when I saw her as she did exactly the same last time. I will not be booking that row again, a pity as they are excellent seats. I so wanted to nudge her or slap her hand but restrained myself....

No plans for today once I get back from the surgery, so will probably catch up with the weekend newspapers which I haven't even looked at yet.

Wishing all a pleasant Monday.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is going to be cool and cloudy today.

Yesterday was a bit of a down day. I kept myself busy cleaning the inside of the car and gardening - some new plants to find a home for and others to clear and cut back. I find myself wondering where all the butterflies are this year. I can count on one hand the number I’ve seen in my garden so far.

I had a two day news blackout from DD and the menfolk in Greece and started to wonder what had happened to them, but last night they phoned to tell me what they had been up to. It had all involved very early mornings and long days.

I’m going to hop on a bus today and head to the Botanical Gardens. The rose garden should be lovely now and there will be lots of other delights too. There is a Victorian bear pit which has been transformed into a fernery. I love ferns. It still has a bear, but he’s made out of bronze!

Have the best day you can, folks.

Georgesgran Mon 15-Jun-26 06:58:00

Good morning from Cyprus. What can I say - hot and sunny - it is.
Glorious, just reading and taking things easy.
Gaga that sounds painful, are you up to date with a tetanus jab?

Best wishes to all. X

Ashcombe Mon 15-Jun-26 07:01:32

Good morning from a bright and sunny Torbay.

Unfortunately, I have had a very poor night’s sleep, being awake till nearly three and then disturbed by thunder and lightning briefly.

I hope that Gagagran is feeling more comfortable. It must’ve been quite a shock and so disappointing to miss your concert..

Have a good week, everyone! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩

karmalady Mon 15-Jun-26 07:06:34

I`m back, mission accomplished, the shrubs were easy to lift and the weather was perfect. I was leaving there at 6.20 and another was arriving. Essential bits in my home garden are watered too and I am very grateful for having so many drought resistant plants, they need no attention and will soon be a carpet of colour

I was thinking about Gaga yesterday, the fall was horrid, ok the bushes will have cushioned the blow to the bones but all those sharp prickles! You do need to check your skin and be aware of any area developing red patches

NannyJan53 Mon 15-Jun-26 07:07:51

Good morning from a grey Black Country, where it rained overnight.

Last minute packing today and checking we have everything. Then Line Dancing later this morning.

Train to Birmingham early evening, then onto Hotel near Airport, ready for early morning flight tomorrow.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

RosesandLilac Mon 15-Jun-26 07:08:55

Good morning, a cloudy spot in south Glos after yesterday’s lovely sunshine. I actually sat outside with my coffee and enjoyed the warmth.
Off to a new-to-me garden centre this morning, picking up my friend first. I’m looking forward to seeing her and we’ll have a good natter!
I need to take a return to the post office en route, I seem to need a smaller size although I haven’t lost much weight 😊
Best wishes to everyone 🌹

Gagagran Mon 15-Jun-26 07:13:27

Good Morning all from the central south coast where it's a bit cloudy but I think the sun will be joining us again after the chance of a light shower.

Thank you everyone for your kind and caring remarks about my rose garden fall. I was touched by them and they helped to ease my bruised pride if not my poor old body! That remains sore and bruised and the ribs are very sore and uncomfortable.

I had a lovely surprise yesterday when my Manx niece sent me a short video message from my big brother. It was so good to see and hear him even though it was a goodbye, sent with his love. So we wait now as he passes his final days. She has been so kind and thoughtful and he, and we are lucky to have her.

DGD and her boyfriend are now nearing the end of the South Downs Way and hope to reach Eastbourne tomorrow. She has really gritted her teeth and got through last week's cold and wet weather even though DH would willingly have gone and picked them up if they had abandoned. We are very proud of her (and him!)

So another day of rest and recovery for me although I am trying to keep moving and to deep breathe when I can. It is proving difficult to take my asthma inhalers. Luckily we had a quiet week ahead on the calendar.

Take care everyone and please do avoid falling over if at all possible!

kittylester Mon 15-Jun-26 07:13:39

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

Today, DH is off to the gym early and I am helping on a different carer learning course dealing with advanced dementia and end of life.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from an overcast W Kent. Cleaning lady this morning for the first time in four weeks hope she turns up. DB still with us but we will see how the weather goes before deciding whether to out. We saw DS and family yesterday so we have caught up with the available family.
Pleased to have found somewhere new for lunch, no music and very good food
Best wishes

Good morning from a brightish Leicestershire.

Today is my 80th birthday - where did the time go?
DS is here and we will go out to lunch then he is cooking a rack of lamb tonight.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex where it’s cloudy and fairly cool. It seems we will have a cloudy warm few days but the forecast changes hourly so who knows!
My back ached yesterday after Saturday’s gardening so I didn’t do much, just cleaned the bathroom and did some ironing, DD1 and family came over late morning but didn’t stay long.

nannyjan have a lovely holiday.

karma that was an early start! Satisfying that you were able to dig out the shrubs on your allotment as planned.

Thinking of all those who are unwell and hope life eases for you.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Nothing planned for today but hopefully will get a bit done in the garden depending on the weather, if that fails the iron could do with some company.
Karma you appear to have done a good days work already can you send some of your energy my way😀.
Gagagran a nice surprise for you but it bought a tear to my eye reading it.
NannyJan have a lovely holiday.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️ along the way.

Marydoll Mon 15-Jun-26 07:31:26

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 11°C.
Another poster, with a disturbed night.
I eventually fell asleep at 2am and woke up at 3qm. I had thought I would sleep well, after a busy day.

After going to Lidl, DH cut the front (including the inlaws) and back grass. He was so exhausted (unlike him), I had to take over and tidy up.
It didn't help that the strimmer broke. We now need a new washing machine, tumble dryer, strimmer and hedge cutter.. I may need to go back to work to pay for them.😱

I spent the afternoon pottering in the garden, potting a few perennials and filling the gaps in my strawberry pots. DH had to go for a lie down. His fatigue, combined with weight loss is really concerning me. Waiting for his hospital appointment is stressful.
We have a fair number of trees and they seem to be growing at an alarming rate.
DH was horrified to find that I had attempted to cut some back, because he wasn't up to it. It was foolish of me!!

Normally on a Monday I go to Mass and potter about, until lunch time. However, today we are going for a run down to Troon for lunch. It is flat and we are never five minutes away from where we usually park, if I feel unwell.
I will go in early to church, sort the money etc for the counters and do a tidy up. There was no sacristan last night, which means there will be tidying up to do.

Gaga, I hope you are recovering from your fall.
Georgesgran, have a great holiday.

Best wishes to all. x

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have a forecast of 20°C with light cloud but no rain. I think I’ll put the washer on when I make my second TiB.

I’m being picked up mid morning by my (wingman) lovely brother in law and his wife for brunch, a mooch then coffee at Bents garden centre. I’ve not been there since I last went with Himself in 2024 when his chemotherapy was working well and he was driving. Memories will flood me when I go in. But life is good and he was so right to tell me to find “the joy of living”.
