Good morning from an overcast W Kent. U3A art group this morning and hopefully quiet afternoon. An electrician is coming this morning to put in some new sockets and a surveyor is coming to look at the back door which needs replacing.
Long chat to DD1 last night she is visiting in July but as ever it is complicated with lots of comings and goings.
DB is 76 today he is off to spend the day with a friend
Best wishes to all

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and wet, which seems to be the order of the day most places! brook safe journey down that road and then have a lovely cruise. GrandMattie I don't have hay fever but sneeze a lot on waking.
Yesterday dgs2 was rather cross and whiny after I picked them up. It had been his sports day at the nursery and they all won a medal. I realised-too late- that he was very tired, after we'd had some tantrum like behaviour. Then he fell asleep 3 minutes before u was due to take them home. Poor lamb, sometimes I forget he's still only 4. His big brother was his usual sunny self.
Today will be quiet early on, then my ballet chum and I are heading to Edinburgh to see Les Trockaderos, an all male ballet troupe from Monte Carlo. They are such good dancers and hilarious. I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully my feet will hold up-if you see what I mean. We will go to a nearby pizzeria beforehand. So dinner and a show. Enjoy your day all.

Good morning everyone from a very grey, mild and humid mid Essex. Yesterday afternoon was lovely, warm and sunny but as I was indoors with my dementia friend, I didn’t have a chance to enjoy the sun! I think we may have a little rain this morning but who knows?
I have an early Ocado delivery, then some admin to do before a hospital appointment this afternoon.
gg I hope your grandchildren’s sports day goes ahead, I think my DGD’s sports day has been abandoned for this year. There are a lot of other activities going on until the end of term which make it difficult to fit in a whole school event.

georgesgran I hope you can get the boiler issues in your rental house sorted out quickly.

I hope that those who are struggling with life’s challenges find some relief soon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a very dull and damp central south coast. It feels warm and humid.

We were very happy to hear that DGD2 finished the South Downs Way yesterday - she sent a lovely photo proudly standing by the marker post in Eastbourne. We hope to hear all about the adventure when they visit us on Sunday.

I slept better last night after finding a more comfortable position for my bruised ribs. I think there is slow improvement although putting my socks on caused an involuntary groan this morning. My black eye is changing to shades of grey, blue and yellow. Another improvement!

DH is out with his cycling group today and I have my Tesco order to do for delivery on Friday. I also have some TV recordings to watch plus a live look at Royal Ascot. I like to see the Royal carriage procession and the actual beautiful horses racing, not so much the non-stop chatter from all the presenters.

No choir tonight as there is a week off after the concert (which I missed due to my fall).

No further news from the Isle of Man yet but my big brother is in my thoughts a lot. I just hope he is pain free and as comfortable as possible.

I wish that too for all with struggles or worries of any kind. May the day bring some ease and relief.

Good morning from a dull and overcast Torbay.

Last night’s performance had to be delayed due to an accident near the theatre which caused some patrons to arrive late. I was still home before 8.00 pm, having done my job of ticket distribution. I shall watch a performance on Thursday with olddudders who is due to arrive later today. He is already at Le Mans station.

Your cruise sounds lovely, brook2704; Norway is stunning, even in the rain!

I hope you’re more comfortable today, WeirdoAgain60 after falling. It sounds as if you were well looked after.

Good for you, Jaxjacky, having a cleaner: it will help you and the local economy. I’ve had one since my third child was a baby and he’s 44 now!

Happy hump day, everyone!

Good morning all from a wet Black country.
Spent an hour in the front garden yesterday, it's not a big garden but a lot of chatting gets done with passersby, came in and did the ironing so I was ready by then for a trip to the carvery.
Today is toddlers and depending how busy we are will decide if I come back and do decluttering or start a new book.
Thoughts with missing posters.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

brook2704 Wed 17-Jun-26 07:02:35

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey clouds and it feels warm. The last few days have been cloudy in the mornings but lovely and sunny in the afternoons
Have a lovely day out today ginny
That description of your DH running round the garden made me smile kitty!
Yesterday I had a bit of a cleaning marathon, not at all like me but as were going away I always like to come back to a clean house! Today I’m finishing packing and doing a few more last minute jobs and then we’re off down the road ready for our cruise tomorrow. It’s just a week but it’ll be a complete change for us and a much more relaxing holiday than our usual adventures.
How frustrating when you’re away and there’s issues to sort at home Georgesgran but it’ll get sorted and don’t let it spoil your holiday 😎
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Georgesgran Wed 17-Jun-26 06:52:20

Good morning from a sunny Cyprus. Nothing to report other than my friend and I are enjoying the days here. Unfortunately, the purchasers of my rental house have found issue with the boiler, so emails are going back and forth. I’m extremely annoyed, but it’s not going to spoil my holiday.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from Sheffield

Back to the rain , I know we need it really

I could not get to sleep last night, I was so restless. I had been to the WI and I think my mind was too active. We had a games night. Not my thing really but everyone had a good time. I opted to do the teas. I ended up sleeping in the spare bedroom so not to disturb the husband.
I am working today, it will be ok.

I enjoyed my trip out with my sister. They have a M and S outlet within Boundry Outlet. I got two lovely summer jumpers and a pair of lightweight trousers all for £32. A bargain, they should have cost £75.
Obviously I needed some more clothes desperately wink

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from the east coast and it’s raining heavily. The garden will be happy as will DH to water in his new plants.
Yesterday’s visit to my uncle went ok. He spent a lot of time buzzing to be moved from here to there and back again and sleeping. I caught him out though as he said he was going to buzz to sit up and go to bed and no he couldn’t sit up on his own and he didn’t want me to help him as it’s the carers job so we left but I popped back in and guess what he’d sat up on his own. I said so uncle you can do it then🤦
I’ll go back in a week with DH.

I don’t have to pick up DGS today as DS and GSs mother are at school for his EHCP meeting and his new special school are coming to see him. I asked DS if they could reject him on meeting but DS said he’s already accepted. A specialist autistic school rejected him for being too high needs as he will always need 1-1 care. DS said he’d take him home afterwards as he’d had to take the whole afternoon off work.

Wishing a lovely day for everyone with hopefully some blue sky and sunshine ☀️ 🌼

kittylester Wed 17-Jun-26 06:41:09

Good morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire.

The forecast yesterday was not fir heavy rain today so DH had to run round the garden first thing in his dressing gown putting the garden cushions away. He is off to the gym later.

I am going for lunch with DS1. We are going to the marina but, luckily, have booked an inside table.

RosesandLilac Wed 17-Jun-26 06:36:43

Good morning, a tad damp here in south Glos but I’m not convinced we’ve had enough to make any impact; it was dry two hours earlier when I was wide awake for no good reason.
I had a good morning yesterday, collected the dogs’ tablets, went to B&Q then a local garden centre on the way home (not the quickest way home 😁).
I spent an hour removing plants from my raised planter by the Shed, put in semipermeable membrane topped with a grit/compost mix and planted the hardy succulents bought on Monday. Topped with gravel it’s looking good!
I’ve only done half, I’ll do the rest today, I need to look for a pot or two for the remaining plants/bulbs.
It isn’t a big planter, it’s largely in the sun and succulents should do well. Very easy to maintain too.
Housework today, I have some ironing to do and a grocery delivery is booked this morning.
Homemade lasagna for lunch, with salad, it’s defrosting in the fridge.
Sending love and best wishes 🌹

GrannyGravy13 Wed 17-Jun-26 06:24:21

Good morning from S E Essex, it’s currently grey. I do hope the weather stays dry and warm as it’s The Imp’s and 11yr olds sports day. Rather emotional as it’s the last one for the 11yr old, he is off to big school in September.

That is my day taken care of, DH and I may pop pit for a late lunch early dinner around 4’ish as he is out later tonight.

Thinking of all our morning friends with illness or troubles (((hugs))) 🙋‍♀️

BlueSapphire Wed 17-Jun-26 06:15:38

Good morning everyone from a damp Northampton, more rain ☔ forecast later.
Up earlier than usual as I have a dental appointment at 8.30 and will probably have to leave by 7.45 to get there in time.
The cats are bemused by my change in routine!

Yesterday was lovely, sunny all day and no cardigan needed. I did a bit of washing in the morning - still having to carry the laundry out in dribs and drabs as I am still advised not to pick up a heavy laundry basket.
After lunch a visit to the surgery for a blood pressure check, which the nurse was very pleased with.
Then walked to the cafe to meet friends after their well-being walk; and was then offered a lift home which I was very grateful for.

Later today will be off to DD's and thence to our wine club get-together this evening. I will stay at DD's overnight.

Wishing all a pleasant Wednesday.

karmalady Wed 17-Jun-26 06:14:58

Good morning from s somerset, not too warm today, pleasant

I spent yesterday making vegan food and there was a lot of chopping and kitchen stuff to clean up

Today I am going to prep various salads and might do some knitting, I have started another gansey, for me this time

ginny Wed 17-Jun-26 06:14:39

Good morning from N.Bucks. Rain overnight here too.
I’m out today on a WI trip to the National Arboretum in Staffordshire., must get myself down to town for 8.45 to catch the coach. I do hope the weather improves or at least the rain stops.
Wishing you all a good day.

Sar53 Wed 17-Jun-26 06:04:11

Good morning from the Essex coast.
I'm sitting here with my first cuppa of the day having been awake since 4.30.
Those thoughts go round and round and I can't switch off.
I have a few phone calls to make, club admin to get on with and ironing to do.
Pasta for dinner then a big football match to watch later.
I hope you all have a pleasant day, best wishes to all xx

Astitchintime Wed 17-Jun-26 05:50:58

Good morning from a rather wet NE Mids. My plan to pick some gooseberries will have to change……..I was using that as an excuse to not do the ironing! Nothing much else on the agenda apart from the usual tidying up after breakfast and cleaning the bathroom.
Have a good day one and all!

Marzipan22 Wed 17-Jun-26 05:41:04

Good morning from a deliciously cool, breezy, rainy Cornwall.

My son and I went to the tip yesterday and the little yellow chap in the photo was sitting next to one of the skips. There are men constantly directing people to the correct skip so that nothing is left lying around but no-one had the heart to throw him away. I think it was his sad face. 🤣 Anyway he came home with me as I know someone who will love him.

I could spend hours watching the machines at the tip and how the whole place is organised but I'm always shocked at what people throw away.

My eldest son is still awaiting the delivery of my dad's painting which I bought for him at auction. Hopefully it will arrive today.

Today I have an asthma review because I'm unusually breathless. Our surgery-based pharmacist booked it, very efficiently.

After that I'll take a bus to my youngest son's flat for pizza and to watch the World Cup England match. My 16-year-old grandson will be there too, which will be lovely.

Bellasnana Wed 17-Jun-26 05:31:25

Good morning from Malta where it’s sunny with a high of 33°C forecast.

I walked up to the village fairly early yesterday to collect my mystery parcel from the post office. Turned out to be a gift from my lovely niece for my upcoming big birthday, bless her.

It was very hot even though I was there before 9am so I went to the ATM at the bank then took myself for a coffee in my usual cafe, choosing to sit inside with the a/c as it was too hot outside.

I’ve got my Treasures this afternoon whilst DD3 goes for a facial, so I shall look forward to seeing those little faces at my door. DGS1 is always first with a book under his arm, followed by DGS2 carrying assorted pipes, his lovey and the cuddly toy of the day. They are so different!

I shall do some aerobic exercises this morning as I’ve no excuse not to and I’ve got rather out of the habit of it which is not good.

Wishing you all a good day.☀️

grandMattie Wed 17-Jun-26 05:18:40

Good morning from Bristol. It has rained through the night and the air feels fresher - less pollen. I don’t have hay fever but have been sneezing more than usual.

Yesterday’s nurse appointment surprised me: the nurse thinks my tiredness is a mental/grief issue. A load of tosh, but I’ve had to make a GP appointment. The end of July!

Today, after the usual FAB cafe, I’m rushing home for a bite, the straight back to the church hall. The Ladies’ Guild is having an “afternoon tea”, which I’ve been asked to help serve, apart from being one of the youngest (at 78?) I’m also probably the most mobile. I’m always surprised at how imperious and entitled a lot of the women are. They forget that, like them, I’m just another member of the group, not a professional.

The residents are incandescent; we have been told that our wonderful, temporary, agency manager isn’t carrying on. So now we are back to square 1. We all suspect that it was because she was too effective, and also wanted the tied house to be cleaned and brought up to standard! Curiously, it is exactly a year since the previous manager retired.
Have a good day all, and those in sick baymove out!
