Good morning from Bristol. Here too, we are promised clear skies and high-ish temperatures. The 30s are being saved for next week. These sudden high/low changes are very odd.
DS should be on his way by now, change planes in Nairobi; he told me he would be here late this evening. I shall see him tomorrow afternoon at DD’s.
Yesterday was quiet and productive; I have finished assembling the squares, just the edging left to machine, then hand sew.
My friend who helps at FAB cafe looks after her dd’s little dog. She slipped her harness and ran straight under a car. She is devastated.
Today, I have our penultimate Spanish class. We shall probably go our own ways after next week. According to my fellow students, one of the other tutors is extremely strict, the other rather lax; I’ll probably go for the latter next academic year if I carry on.
I may sit out in the sun this afternoon…
I hope today is a good start to you weekend. Be happy. Carpe died 🐦‍🔥🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Sheffield

It’s all quiet here. I can hear the birds, a magpie, wood pigeon a blackbird and wren, according to Merlin. There’s no cars about yet.

I’m having tea in bed having a quiet hour before the day starts. A busy one , working , then my friend round for coffee.
This evening I’m off to see the Choir of Man musical in the city with my youngest son. We are going out for tea first to a Mexican restaurant. Looking forward to this.

But first the Big Friday clean up.
Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny and the high today is 37°C.

Had my nails done yesterday then bought paint as the painter is coming tomorrow to freshen up the walls leading down to the garages. Technically, everyone with a garage ought to be contributing, but I can’t stand looking at the shabby mess so I’m just going to pay for it myself.

The boys were with me until 8pm, both utterly sweet and no trouble at all.

Today I’ve got my hair, the last appointment for a while as my lovely hairdresser goes in for surgery next week and will then have at least six weeks recovering afterwards.

grandMattie, great news that your son is on his way, hope he has a safe journey. How sad about your friend’s little granddog. 😞

Wishing you all a good day. ☀️

RosesandLilac Fri 19-Jun-26 06:12:50

Good morning, a misty start here on the hillside in south Glos.
How lovely to have the your son here grandMattie ,.
That’s so how awful for your friend at FAB to lose the little dog 🥺
Beautiful nails Bellasnana, I wreck nail polish and gels destroy my nails so I stick to DIY clear or very pale polish.
Yesterday was interesting; DH found a wasps nest in the attic by accident and decided to remove it himself……. Honestly, he has absolutely no common sense whatsoever so he got thoroughly stung. I retreated to the Shed after handing him an antihistamine tablet and left him to it after he robustly told me he ‘knows what he’s doing’!
He’s fiddling around with the bathroom light fitting so I haven’t had any light in there for a week, there’s a hole in the ceiling and I’m biting my tongue.
I did have a call from the hospital, cancelling an appointment for next Thursday that I didn’t know I had! That was an interesting conversation. Apparently I will get another, for the lung cancer clinic. Soon. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ We’ll see, I’m not holding my breath.
I’ve given up worrying and chasing, cba any more.
The weather’s warming up so housework today, get everything tidied then back to my Shed. It’s a real pleasure sitting watching the birds, doing needlework and listening to podcasts or audiobooks. Tiddler always joins me, she’s a little darling, such a funny little sausage.
Best wishes to you all x
🌹

Good morning from a glorious corner of Essex, blue sky and already 18° with a high of 29° has summer arrived?

I am waiting for the 11yr old to wake up and give his breakfast order, and decide what he wants in his packed lunch.

I am off to the gym earlier today (PiYo) and the I am popping along for a manicure, pedicure and some talc on eyebrows and lashes.

Your nails look lovely Bellasnana

You must be really looking forward to seeing your son grandMattie

We have a flying visit from one of our Aussie contingent this weekend, so much to catch up on.

I think it will be a Chinese takeaway for dinner this evening.

Enjoy your day folks 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from Wiltshire. Been awake since 4am. Hope I can get another hour or two soon.

Sports day for my Year 3 and Reception GCs, preceded by a picnic. Glad it’s today as next week looks roasting.

I’m sure you are looking forward immensely to seeing your son GM. Lovely nails Bella Cherries are probably my favourite fruit but they are so pricy now.

Have a good day all and take care in the sun.

Greyduster Fri 19-Jun-26 06:43:45

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sun is already blazing in a blue sky. Last night I went to bed with a sore throat and sweated a lot during the night but this morning it seems to have gone - for good I hope!

Yesterday at walking group we didn’t get very far which was disappointing. I missed having my usual lunch date with DD as they are currently on holiday. I picked my niece up on the way home and dropped her off at the hairdressers, then the rest of the afternoon was taken up with cleaning out the shed, moving redundant mowers to the garage ready to go to the tip and moving the new mower into the nice clean shed where it can be taken easily into the top garden, or wheeled round to the front.

This morning I have an appointment with a hand pysiotherapist to assess my burgeoning arthritis, and as it is in the same building as the gym, I have no excuse not to call in there. A short session at school this afternoon.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 16° and damp. Looks breezy too. GrandMattie a happy meeting tomorrow with your ds. Bellasnana lovely nails.
Yesterday was fairly quiet. I did go to the school library to tidy it up and saw dgs2 and his wee friends through the fence.
Today I'm heading back to Edinburgh early. I'm meeting ds for breakfast at Dishoom. I have a voucher that needs used up. After that, I will have a quiet afternoon and evening. Enjoy your day all

Bellasnana. We are currently in Malta. With a high of 37 degrees I think it will be a pool day under the umbrella!

Llamas99 Fri 19-Jun-26 06:56:16

Bellasnanna Lovely nails, I think your manicurist outdoes herself every time!

Bellasnana Fri 19-Jun-26 06:58:16

Cressy enjoy your stay. Early morning and late evening are the best times to be out and about but watch out for the wretched mosquitoes! Enjoy your pool day, I’ve yet to dip my toes in the water this summer!😂

Good morning all from a sticky North Leicestershire.

Yesterday's Mild Congnitive Impairment Cafe went well. We had the lovely exercise chap who is absolutely brilliant. He brought his Hand Pan with him and made the most beautiful sounds. The Area Coordinator who also talked to the group was less impressive.

Today is eye jab day, a trip to M&S and then fish and chips.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Gelisajams Fri 19-Jun-26 07:06:26

Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it has rained on and off during the night and the same is promised for today with warmer temperatures.
Wishing a safe journey for your son GMattie enjoy the time spent with him.
We did very little yesterday as we were all tired after our trip, but instead of an early night it was turned midnight before we got into bed. We spent the evening at the emergency vets! Something happened to Crazy Dog on his last walk- he came out of the long grass on the marsh limping , then stopped, but behaved very strangely, running and crouching down, then he was sick before finally going limp. DH carried him to the car where he lay without moving. On bringing him home we shot off to the emergency vet who thinks he may have been stung by a bee. We were in the vets over 3 hours as she was looking after two other very poorly dogs at the same time. By the time we left following his anti sickness jab and armed with anti histamines, he was coming round thankfully. He didn’t settle during the night though, needing trips to the garden to toilet. Just what we needed - a broken night!
Today will be another lazy one before DH goes off for a blood test.
I’ll attempt to post some pics from David Austin’s garden and one of my new favourite rose ( are you listening Santa?)
Take care everyone 🌸

Good morning everyone from Lancashire.
Hope you're doing ok, GrandmaC47, that sounded like a nasty fall. 🤕

Bet you're very excited at the prospect of seeing your DS, GrandMattie. Even with the wonders of modern technology helping stay in touch, there's nothing like being in the same room together.

Yesterday the little chap was very good about his hair cut and looks much tidier now.

This morning we'll go to the garden centre to get some plants to supplement the ones I've grown from seed.

Hope your cruise has got off to a good start,*Brook*. 🚢

Have the best day possible. 🌻

Beautiful photos, Gelisajams. 😍

Good morning from sunny s somerset

My ds has just left to start on his 14 hour journey back to Aberdeen. We have talked non-stop and I have had a lot of lovely hugs.

I need to get into transition mode, back to living as a single again. I think I will finish clearing up, doing bedding etc then have a coffee and cycle to my allotment, which is my grounding escape place

WhiteSwan63 Fri 19-Jun-26 07:26:28

Good morning from the east coast and we get the cooling sea breeze which is nice.

This morning we are picking up Dad and Stepmum and taking them to Aylesbury to visit my brother and his family. We are staying in a hotel for two nights. We haven’t met two of their new grandchildren so we are bearing gifts. They are lovely hosts. My dad isn’t confident to drive on motorways anymore and it’s a long way. We will need to stop a few times for him to stretch his legs.

RosesandLilac your DH was very brave to tackle the wasp nest. My DH has to carry an EpiPen against wasp stings. He runs a mile when a wasp is in his vicinity. Your shed retreat sounds so lovely and a real haven.

Wishing a lovely day to everyone hope you can keep cool. 🌼

Astitchintime Fri 19-Jun-26 07:26:54

Good morning from the NE Mids. It is a beautiful morning here, the sun is shining and there’s quite a breeze……perfect day for the laundry! I also plan to pick the ripe gooseberries too!
Have a good day one and all!

Redcar Fri 19-Jun-26 07:29:05

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny and 18 degrees outside, so I have the blinds and curtains closed against the sun. It will be a day of opening and closing blinds and windows to try to keep the sun out and air in! I had a disturbed night, no idea why.
After taking the maximum dose of paracetamol yesterday my headache has finally eased but my joints are aching, a side effect of Wednesday’s infusion.
I’m meeting some friends at Hyde Hall RHS garden this afternoon, no doubt it will be busy.

grandmattie I hope your DS arrives safely later today and that you have an enjoyable time with him while he’s in England.

gelisajams what beautiful photos of the roses!

I hope that those who are struggling for any reason find some relief today.

Have as good a day as is possible everyone. The longest day is this weekend I think? Not sure which day though!

grandMattie Fri 19-Jun-26 07:34:18

Summer solstice is on Sunday, around 9am BST

Have a pleasant day all.
