A very late Good morning Micheal and all GN's on a breezy and slightly cooler morning in North Yorkshire.
I had a bad night and awake about 3.30am with my back giving me such a lot of pain. Difficult to get back to sleep, and struggling a lot this morning. Extremely frustrating , as the weather would allow me to get out now it is cooler , but I have taken so long to get up. Hence I have been reading all your posts and plans, but done nothing but getting showered and dressed so far.
Yesterday another rubbish day with my back, and so it was trying to mix it, getting up for a while and then lying flat to ease things. With a struggle , managed to get the bedding washed , but just stuck it out on various clothes horses on my lawn, couldnt manage to go down to the washing lines. Not sure if there is some rule about only using the proper washing line, but it was do what I could . That and getting washing up done, was about the best I could manage and read quite a lot.
My cleaners were rather late coming, which didnt matter a great deal about the time, but I was in a slight panic, in case they were not coming, as hadnt remade the bed or done much. However they duly arrived and soon had the bed sorted and everywhere hoovered and cleaned . They were also very good about checking in the cupboard and reaching to the back for things like the new salad cream. When they first started coming to me, I used to feel they were a luxury , and I could do the things myself. Now they are definitely a necessity, but their once a week visit lets me keep going here, in a reasonably tidy enough way.
When I am like this I find it difficult mentally to choose between pushing myself into doing something, and accepting that this is how it is ,and not letting myself get uptight and frustrated about what I am Not doing! Feeling like that doesnt actually improve matters ,I know. However, while I acknowledge that I am now 81, my brain still seems to think I am about 50 and should still be able to do what I did 30 years ago!
Well I enjoy reading the posts and remembering visiting many of the places you write about, and your adventures. I read all your doings Marydoll , and have both sympathy and also memories of similar happening with my husband at times. Glad you had good results Dragonfly. So many of you managing to do great cooking and sewing in this weather. I admire your industry and ability.
