Any Rain Anywhere, Or Are We In A 1976 Timewarp?

Showers were threatened here today but nothing yet, and I doubt if it will happen. I haven't seen any rain during the day for ages, but my grass at the front is very green, so there must have been a sprinkle overnight at sometime.

The promised thunder and lightning never arrived.

Here in London parks are starting to look like deserts and trees are losing their leaves. There is a chance of rain on Sunday but it says 45% chance and I imagine it will come to nothing and a light shower will just dry up immediately. I keep seeing a chance of rain on weather sites for London that disappear completely a day later.
Have never known weather forecasting to be so consistently wrong.
Unfortunately once we do get heavy rain the ground will be so hard the rain will run off and probably cause flooding in certain areas.
Is anyone in the UK getting rain??

Rain forecast for all day on Sunday here in North Wales. Just hope it arrives. The river has dried up now.

We are the same in London, keep being promised rain but it never happens.

Black Country unfortunately nothing here. The gardens are absolutely parched.

East Anglia now very brown & only weeds looking green! Cannot remember when we last had rain & beginning to forget what it is like! Be winter before too much longer, wet & cold & we can moan about how much we miss the weather we have now!

Yes, indeed. Lawn is looking parched and is not growing, though the thistles which have appeared from nowhere are standing proud and tall!

I predict it will rain mid August when we go on holiday in Devon.

Today we had rain for our visit to the outlet centre in Fleetwood.

No rain here for weeks. The lawn is yellowy brown and even the dandelions are shrivelling. The only things still going strong are the brambles and the ivy

I don't think we've seen any rain since before Christmas - when other people were getting flooded we only a brief shower.

I'm a little worried that when the tropical storms start hitting in October the ground is going to be baked so hard that the rain will just run off - that's what happened some years ago when we got flooded. Our gardens round here are all heavy clay.

All we had yesterday and today was loads of grey clouds all going somewhere else!

I’m in Sussex on the south east coast and I can’t remember the last rain. It must be months ago. It’s so depressing.

The last time I remember it raining in the north west was May 11th. A friend came to stay and we visited RHS Bridgewater. It rained non stop all day! Nothing since!

No rain here either, but definitely neither 1976 nor 1989 or 90, which were just as warm and dry.

Here the weather is dry, cloudy and COLD with a nasty wind more reminiscent of the end of September than July.

No rain here either, and there hasn’t been for several weeks. The ground is bone dry and the grass like straw. It always amazes me, though, how grass bounces back once the rain returns. I agree about the weeds - they seem quite green amongst the parched grass.
I think I’ll look up how to do a rain dance 😂😂.
