On the news today Trump and Infantino were talking.
I noticed that Trump had a new hat with a new slogan
"Trump was right about everything."

The man is unbelievable

RFK is backtracking on his vaccine stance, by the way.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/aug/02/rfk-jr-measles-vaccination

So did the US Military.

www.reuters.com/legal/litigation/us-military-requires-flu-vaccine-some-after-outbreak-texas-training-center-2026-06-24/

Maremia Wed 12-Aug-26 20:12:44

Yes I remember reading about the flu debilitating some of the military.
I would class stopping that vaccine as being 'stupid'.

I can’t make up my mind whether he’s a megalomaniac narcissist, or a narcissistic megalomaniac.
Anyway, one or the other.

FB is awash with extremely anti-Trump posts, mini cartoons etc, some of them very funny, but all hard hitting and all apparently from Americans.

If the world could have packaged every single worst thing about a human and packed it into and ugly orange flabby carcass and given it lots of other peoples money to steal Trump would be the outcome. No class, no grace, no brain, no empathy, no sense, no care, a man who has never been loved for himself - there is nothing in that sack of ghastliness that is loveable - or loved anyone unless they can do something for him or he can abuse the power he has over them. He brought about the terrible public exposure of all that is appalling about America and humanity. There is no going back.

One of the best descriptions of Trump I think I have read to date.

Well said, Bernie. Excellent description of a totally abhorrent individual. 😡

I agree too.

Yes, the vaccines. How many new cases of measles have there been recently?

Lots
I work in a college and there are lots of outbreaks so the staff have been vaccinated as well

I sort of guessed that a few home truths would bring the nutters out. Must be foaming at the mouth that someone disagrees with your insane rant

I think you are baiting members on here by using such derogatory language. You might argue that members are using derogatory language about Trump, but he’s a world leader and unlikely to read a thread on GN but you are making personal comments about people on here whom I have become familiar with on News&Politics, and so feel I can vouch for their informed and intelligent posts.
I don’t know you at all and think you must be new on here, yet you come barging in with highly aggressive and rather nasty posts.
You are welcome to your opinion but not to your patronising bile.

Trump has a niece, Mary Trump who spent time with Uncle Donald while growing up. Mary is a psychologist and has publicly spoken about him and has written several books explaining how he ended up so psychologically damaged. Apparently, DJT's mother was seriously ill for much of his early childhood. His father paid little attention to him and didn't show any affection. DJT has been spending his whole life trying to prove he's lovable. This has led to other things like never being content with what he's accomplished and needing to be totally in charge. His father caused this too because DJT could never be good enough to please his Dad. It's a sad situation. Too bad we have to suffer for it.

nanna8 Thu 13-Aug-26 01:59:58

I don’t like descriptions about orange flabby people. I would never support Trump but insults like this put you right down or below what you think he is. I am also surprised that those I thought were intelligent people would support this description. To repeat, I am not and never will be a Trump supporter.

DrWatson Thu 13-Aug-26 04:05:39

Really Gango? DO please let us all know how your "nutters" & "insane rant" matches up to your previous plaintive "I haven't insulted anyone"?

Meanwhile 1) please also tell us how his campaign promise to "end the Ukraine War on day 1" matches up to breaking the Budapest treaty (guaranteeing Ukraine safety against aggressors, not snuggling up to war criminals)?

2) How does his "no new wars" campaign promise match up to his ludicrous attack on Iran, which has enraged most of the planet with its knock-on effects on oil & fertiliser prices? (I'll let you justify incinerating 170 or so Iranian schoolgirls, as that seems to be what you like in a leader).

3) With his constant attacks on immigrants, perhaps you can tell us why in his first campaign his winery interests in California were trying to bring in MORE Mexican labour, not reduce it?

4) Perhaps you have some medical expertise, in which case perhaps you can advise how the top part of his ear, shot off in the alleged assassination attempt in 2024, has mysteriously grown back (evidenced in many subsequent pictures and press conferences)?

5) Given his many speeches criticising previous Presidents for being soft on crime and immigrants, perhaps you can enlighten everyone -- it's a real mystery -- why he pardoned a drugs ganglord from a 45 year jail term? Or his pardons for over a thousand MAGA fans rightfully jailed for assorted treason offences at the Capitol in Jan 2021?

6) And just to finish, for now, perhaps you could give us all some insight into what he meant when he said that he had "never visited Epstein's Island" -- but had also claimed that he'd "seen Clinton there 29 times"? As you're SUCH a fan, you might know?

He is definitely not the American Dream.
He is the American Nightmare.
I imagine Stephen King would be hard pressed to create an odious character like Trump.

I bet he could try. Stephen King could do it but he needs to be carefully he would get sued! 😂

If you can see my posts the reread them properly. I mentioned about lemmings jumping off a cliff.
If you see yourself as a lemming it doesn’t mean I have called you one

Strange timing. Just back from maternity leave.

Chocolatelovinggran Thu 13-Aug-26 08:51:01

I have a particular dislike of one of the behaviours of Mr Trump, about which I have posted before.
He publicly mocked the body and spoken language of a man with cerebral palsy. This is the behaviour of a truly reprehensible man, and completely unforgivable. I cannot envisage this being acceptable to any previous POTUS, nor any British Prime Minister .
This illustrates who this man is, and how low he could go: he continues to demonstrate this day after day, celebrating the deaths of his political rivals, referring to anyone who disagreed with him as " low IQ " bombing civilians, and threatening sovereign nations.
And, undine, regarding his intellectual capacity, he was listed third from the bottom in his class of more than three hundred men in graduating from military college.

Trump also famously called US veterans chumps and suckers, which led to countless US citizens flying the US flag upside down in protest.
But let’s not forget how many allies he has badmouthed since coming to office.
The man is beyond the pale.

The really stupid people who take issue with that and respond. He knows there are a section of people that will rail against anything he says so he pushes the boundaries to see how steamed up the stupid people will get
Calm down and look past it. If you really don’t like what he does even if you’re not a us citizen then his presidential term is 4 years

I get what you’re saying.

However, this in no way even begins to mitigate the absolute carnage and damage and insults this man has caused in the last four years.

It’s no simply a blip.

People have died! That cannot be reversed when he’s gone!

Cossy Thu 13-Aug-26 10:30:22

So she [wearing her cross which infuriates me; some Christian..] was happy to work for Trump with his evil policies and misogynistic behaviour when it affected the rest of the population and only left when it personally affected her. No thought for all the other lives that he has destroyed...words fail me...

Hmm, the really stupid people, and the stupid people, who get "steamed up" - and earlier are "foaming at the mouth" who should really just "calm down"...

I'm curious to learn if this is your normal debating style, or whether in an effort to defend a president who you appear to think is rather smart because he pushes people's boundaries you have rather let rip in this instance?

And, BTW - Trump will also "rail against" anything said by that "section of people" - regardless of who they are - because he gets quite "steamed up" himself if anyone disagrees with him. The difference is, they are not so much pushing the boundaries as attempting to hold him to account.

His presidential term is 4 years - not sure he'd quite agree with you there, he has repeatedly and seriously raised the prospect of a third term in office, though the jury appears to be out as to whether he's fooling around - but he's certainly floated the idea and is testing the waters. But, mitigatingly, he has indicated that a run for 2028 is on because, he's owed a 4th term because he believes the 2020 election was rigged against him!

Anyway, as non-US citizens, we'll continue to rant, steam, froth, etc, etc, because his antics and his tariffs affect the ROTW.

It appears you're new on GN - so welcome, if you are.

Maremia Thu 13-Aug-26 13:59:22

He still has two years, and plenty of loyal enablers, to continue on his destructive path.
What has he done for the ordinary citizens of the USA?

Maybe you all need help. A lot of energy to spout a view not facts just your opinions
Get a grip and calm down
