My Immortal was played at my friend's 10 month old baby's funeral. Although it will be 20 years at Christmas since her baby died, I still stop in my tracks when I hear the song.

Jeff Buckley ‘Hallelujah’ is heartbreaking.

I love so many versions of Hallelujah, including Leonard Cohen's original, but Jeff Buckley's is probably my second favourite.

Currently my two favourites are Abraham, Martin and John sunglasses by Marvin Gaye with Beverley Knight added posthumously. I think it was done for a prom.

James Taylor's version of You've Got a Friend - played at the funeral of a young friend who recently died aged 43.

For me it's the beautiful & poignant song, 'The first time I saw your face' by the wonderful Roberta Flack.
This wonderful, haunting tune reminds me of my mad, glorious, kind son who sadly is no longer with me on this earth. What a song and what a woman.

Another favourite is Scott McKenzies San Francisco - I sing along to it in the car, but then a lump in my throat picturing myself in that era to what I am now.

I don’t listen to a lot of popular music these days (my loss, my children tell me😊), but I like songs that remind me of people.
A favourite, ‘Songbird’ by Christine McVie, always reminds me of my Welsh sister in law, and I’ve just unearthed, while sorting out the contents of my piano stool, ‘With a Song in my Heart’ (Rogers and Hart) that was a favourite with my sister who was much older than me. I suddenly now remember it being the theme tune to Two Way Family Favourites on the radio back in the fifties.
I also like ‘Wouldn’t it be nice’ by the Beach Boys.
