Hello everyone!
I have just discovered this lovely new kitchen while I was sitting having some quiet time 😀
Life has been a bit chaotic recently but things are hopefully settling down so I will be able to sit down and read you posts more often 😀
Thinking of anyone having a difficult time

Good afternoon all.
I have had a successful medical day today.
I saw a Cardiologist this lunchtime, a lovely chatty man who gave me a clean bill of health, both the 24 hour monitor and the Echocardiogram showed no concerns and I was discharged from the clinic.
I hurried home for a quick sandwich and then went to the surgery to see the physio.
She listened closely to my symptoms and put me through some tugging and pulling and thinks I have two things going on, Sciatica and a bursa in the hip area.
I have exercises to do and she advised a short course of Ibuprofen along with Omeprazole which I take anyway and if there is no improvement in 6 weeks she recommends an injection into the hip.

I felt I had had some good results, the one thing that didn’t mean three good things is that Agent Million didn’t knock on my door, I don’t think he knows how to find me.

I hope others have had such a satisfying day.

Utbb good news! That's my childcare done for this week. Both boys were good. Dgs1 is turning into a lovely, helpful boy. Dgs2 is a loveable rogue! The rain has been biblical at times today and it's back on again. I have felt cold today and the time is fast approaching for the heating to go on in the morning anyway. Dinner tonight will be the last of the gammon with chips and beans. Thank you for all your kind words regarding my gallbladder pain. Today it's no better, so tomorrow I will be waiting in the queue for a doctor's appointment to confirm that's what it is. I struggle on. Have a good evening kitchen folk.

Jaxjacky Tue 01-Sept-26 17:36:55

Excellent results utbb my bursitis was the reason for the cortisone injection last week, it is easing.
It’s been a breezy day of sun and clouds, this morning was housework, this afternoon we’ve checked freezer contents and will now look to add winter foodstuff. Might sneak another bbq in yet though.
Wise to get a check Grandmabatty.
Enjoy your evening all.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 01-Sept-26 17:58:34

Good news on your health utbb 👍

I am rather ache after my return to the gym after 12 days,to be expected.

Have pottered around today, been browsing the new seasons clothes online, have been tempted, but not ordered anything.

Fish for dinner (sole) and I imagine an early night 🙋‍♀️

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 01-Sept-26 18:08:19

Heartening news utbb never mind Agent Millions - health as you well appreciate IS wealth. 😁 More so, really.

I had a very enjoyable afternoon with my friends at LWW. Boy it was super hot around 4pm onwards, I think someone turns the thermostat up. 🥵

Eaten at home just now. Made tuna & pasta. Had to remind myself how the hob works. 😁

Nannytopsy Tue 01-Sept-26 19:47:35

Enjoy your trip to Es Cana FGT. We liked it there too. We have spent the last couple of days looking for a holiday in May. I think we have settled on Portugal. DH found a hotel by a nature reserve. Plenty of birdwatching!

Redcar Tue 01-Sept-26 19:55:00

utbb that’s really good news about your health, Agent Million didn’t call here either, but there’s always next time!

A nice summery day here, more rain would be useful, I felt I had to water the newly planted penstemons. At least I can use the water from a water butt now, rather than tap water.

I collected my prescription from the pharmacy this morning, then walked to the shops for some food, then home. I long walk for me, but I need to increase the distance I walk as I’ve become very lazy over the summer. I saw my dementia friend this afternoon, she was looking at me and mumbling at me but sadly neither I nor her DH had a clue what she was trying to say. Such a sad situation.

fgt I’m pleased you had a good time with your LWW this afternoon. Well done for remembering how to use the cooker!

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.

brook2704 Tue 01-Sept-26 21:57:49

Really good news uttb so pleased for you
Grandmabatty hope you’re soon sorted too and feeling much better ❤️

Usedtobeblonde Tue 01-Sept-26 22:12:13

I am feeling very guilty.
This morning I went into the garage to check the battery on my mobility scooter as I intended to use it this afternoon to go to the surgery.
Just before I was due to go it started to rain so my S ran me up there, it is his day off, I got involved with meals and laundry when I got back and settled down later to watch some recorded programmes.
I suddenly realised I hadn’t seen Molly for ages and she hadn’t had her tea.
I looked for her, called for her and suddenly realised, she has a fascination with the garage.
Sure enough she was locked in, when I opened the door she shot out like a bullet from a gun, protesting loudly.
She came into the house and I fed her, it didn’t touch the sides as it went down.
I think she might ignore me for a few hours, she had been in there for a long time.

SueDonim Tue 01-Sept-26 22:21:41

That’s great news healthwise, UTBB! As for the cat, she’ll survive - she has nine lives! wink

I’m still not 100% but did some chores today, clean bed linen for me and a bit of gardening I hadn’t planned to do but it’s good to get it done. Mainly yanking out plants that have gone over for the season. The garden bin goes out tomorrow, it’s very full and heavy as the grass was cut yesterday.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 02-Sept-26 19:05:18

By ‘eck it’s quiet in here this evening. Hope everyone is okay or as much as they can be?

Our Yorkshire Lass is due here in just over an hour, around 9:30pm here. Travels light (like me) 11 days here with a cabin bag so no waiting at the carousel. 😁

I’ve been over to Maxi Dia. She’ll be hungry and tired when she arrives so there’s cheese, hummus and tomatoes in the fridge (she’s veggie) and a bottle of rosé wine. We shall sit on the balcony to eat and catch up before bed.

This was me earlier today. 30°C sunshine, sat in the shade with my kindle and a banana & blueberry smoothie with ice chips it was delicious!

GrannyGravy13 Wed 02-Sept-26 19:55:55

Hello kitchen pals 🙋‍♀️

Been a busy day here, gym then had the 11yr old and The Imp whilst DD went into the gym.

I took them to our favourite local cafe/bistro for lunch (yes I know I spoil them) DD joined us when she finished.

DH is out, I am home alone with the remote control 🤷‍♀️

It’s been grey and drizzly all day, I envy your Spanish sun FGT2 🌞

Redcar Wed 02-Sept-26 21:03:54

Hello everyone.
A grey and windy day today, but feels humid out. We had a few spots of rain this morning while I was out for my walk, but that was all. There were some very threatening clouds this afternoon, but they didn’t produce any rain at all.
I had intended to defrost the chest freezer in the garage but decided it was too full, so I rummaged around and cleared out some very old food which I didn’t fancy eating!

I’ll actually defrost it another day, perhaps when it’s a bit cooler!
Then pottered about, trying to declutter the dining room. A few more old books went into the recycling bin.

utbb I hope that the cat has forgiven you for neglecting her yesterday!

fgt enjoy your few days with your Yorkshire Lass! Your supper sounds delicious!

My 11 year old DGD survived her first day at senior school, and apparently only got lost once when changing classrooms. Her 8 year old sister was quite happy to go back to school once she got there.
I’m dozing off in front of the television, so I’ll just say enjoy the rest of the evening folks. Night night.

brook2704 Wed 02-Sept-26 22:24:36

Hi kitchen pals, a late visit to the kitchen before I turn off the light and settle down
It’s been a busy day today with volunteering all morning, then the gym and then dancing this evening. Tomorrow is completely different with nothing to do except rest and recuperate. I do enjoy and need my easy Thursdays
Tomorrow is the big school for my DGS in Cambridge Redcar - I think he’s a bit nervous but I’m sure he’ll be fine. That’s 3 of my 4 grandchildren at senior school now, just the youngest one left with a couple more years at primary school to go
Enjoy the family time fgt and the sunshine 😎
I hope everyone is doing ok, take care all

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 02-Sept-26 22:33:14

Hello kitchen people.

Today has been wet and cool. I actually wore a cardigan!

I cleared out two kitchen drawers. Whoopie do! I now have a bag to take to a Charity shop.

OH and I went to a favourite restaurant for their Steak Night. It was all delicious and we shared a strawberry trifle for pudding.

Our new tumble dryer is being delivered tomorrow. We have a four hour delivery window,

Sleep 💤 tight.

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Sept-26 17:04:16

Good evening kitchen folk. Today has not been great. After my stint in the school library, I headed to Pavers in the garden centre. I treated myself to 5 pairs of shoes/trainers/slippers and took them to the desk where I completely forgot my pin number! I tried it 3 times and, of course, got blocked. The assistant manager could not have been kinder or more helpful while I was mortified. She mentioned Google wallet and I said I had that but had never used it. She and the manager got it all sorted for me, thank goodness! So the shoes are all mine. I was walking through the garden centre and promptly tripped and fell all my length. Mortified again. 2 lovely men came and helped me up and I went home. Lunch next. I made a sandwich and had one bite which I had to spit out- mouldy bread! Would that be my 3 bad things?
I'm hoping the Google wallet continues to work as I need food, petrol and birthday gifts. Dd will give me cash if I need it but I would rather not.
Any lucky white Heather?

labazs Thu 03-Sept-26 17:36:54

quite here hospital tomorrow so need to conserve my energy and pain level. `
mopped the floors and made two lots of home made yoghurt ready for tomorrow one vanilla one lemon. have some overnight oats in fridge so it will be eaten for puddings or for other overnight oats but ill probably have eaten it all by then and be doing the next lot!

Nannytopsy Thu 03-Sept-26 18:00:33

What a day GrandmaB ! I hope you don’t have too many bruises.
I went to the dentist yet again, to have stitches removed from my horrible extraction. It’s healing nicely. Then an x ray to have a new crown made. The prep was done a while ago so at least that will be done in a couple of weeks.
I sat in bed last night and made a huge list of critical jobs to do today and they are almost finished. I have another pair of school trousers to shorten tonight for DGS. Tomorrow we are off to Kent to babysit for a night. Life is very busy and I am on the brink of joining a new choir! At least there is a choice of sessions each week in case I can’t make my first choice.
Plaice and avocado salsa tonight. I am being good about my low carb diet today. (Not talking about yesterday!)
Enjoy having time with your DD FGT

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Sept-26 18:23:21

Oh dear Grandmabatty I do hope you’re ok, at least you’ve got your footwear!
I’m still procrastinating Nannytopsy I need two teeth out, but they feel ok right now.
Best wishes for tomorrow labazs
Frustrated today, I was going to set up my new iPad, the old one has been playing up, the adapter, not supplied, has changed from previous models, rats.
So, I did some ‘proper’ dusting, wiped down the white kitchen units and all the work surfaces.
Final tweaks to grocery delivery tomorrow, I was shocked to hear this morning, sprouts might be in short supply this winter, MrJ won’t be upset!

brook2704 Thu 03-Sept-26 18:36:58

Shame about the adapter missing Jax - is it for the power cable? I think I had the same problem a while back
Oh dear grandmabatty ❤️

A good day here, a couple of things sold on Vinted this morning, so a trip to the post office was needed this afternoon and we enjoyed a coffee out. DH had enjoyed his time at the men’s shed group this morning, he’s got involved in a few woodworking projects like making an outside storage crate and restoring wooden benches etc. - keeps him busy and he only needs £1 pocket money for tea and biscuits each week 😂

Well done with getting on well with your jobs nannytopsy and hope you enjoy the new choir group
Hoping all goes well tomorrow labazs

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Sept-26 18:47:45

Yes brook shows how old my existing one is, I’m sure it came with one.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Sept-26 19:12:10

Ouch Grandmabatty I hope you are not too sore and bruised.

Jaxjacky yep the latest Apple products have different leads 😡

I have had a day of sorting things out, including my prescription which despite having a med review on 1/9 is still saying medication unavailable for repeat. Which is frustrating to say the least as DH and I are off again in a few days (Anniversary break)

Sausage, mash, green vegetables and onion gravy for dinner, should be read by 7.30’ish

SueDonim Thu 03-Sept-26 20:05:21

The new wires for Apple products are part of an EU scheme to move to universal cables, everything will use the same cable eventually. It is a pest right now but I’ve discovered a variety of charging plugs that have both sockets which has simplified things.

Grannybatty I’d probably have cried at all those unfortunate events. I hope you’re not too sore this evening . flowers

I managed to get a GP appointment today - phoned at 8 and saw the Dr F2F at 9:10. 😲 She’s changed my migraine meds and given me something to calm my stomach so I hope I’ll be feeling better soon.

I made myself go out to a group meeting this afternoon and really enjoyed it, so I was pleased about that. I must make more effort especially with cold dark days looming up over the winter. I’m wearing a summer dress today but I fear it won’t come out of the wardrobe again until next spring.

TOYA. X

Grandmadinosaur Thu 03-Sept-26 20:36:18

Hello kitcheners.

A very tired Gran here tonight. We’ve had the 2gc for the last time this school holidays. Quite warm so we took them to the coast. As usual they had a ball collecting stones and shells on the beach , in the arcades and having ice creams etc. Then mid afternoon we took them back to our home away from home and all chilled before taking them back home. We’ve spent more time with them as both parents are now working full time which has been tiring for us. Joyful though as in term time the weekends are filled up with sport, activities etc so we don’t get much of a look in to do things them. I feel a bit sad as we have all had a wonderful time enjoying there company.Oh well I mustn’t dwell on that.

I hope the meds do the trick SD

I think that sea air has knocked me out I shall be in bed by 9 💤

Night all.
