I don’t stockpile, or ‘save for a rainy day’ if I run out I ll find an alternative if there’s no alternative I ll eat grass and drink out the rain butt
I hate these doom messages because if someone in any kind of power gives this message out, however benignly it is meant, there will be lots of people wiping the shelves clean, just because wewouldn’t do it doesnt mean it won’t happen.

I m expecting a rough winter after this beautiful summer but so be it

After 6 months of SE Water, I would recommend dry shampoo and cleansing wipes!
In rural France we had woodburning stoves and bread oven and bottled gas for cooking. Now we only have electricity. Will take a bit more planning. 😮

Not forgetting that I won’t be able to afford my heating bill if it hasn’t conked out completely , so better stock up on cashmere jumpers.

I wonder how Rosie would feel if I got a second dog to throw on the bed?

I don’t think Samsara was nasty- I find the self-righteous comments harder to swallow.

We have been warned about a bad El Niño here,too. But they didn’t tell us to stockpile. Just to be aware that temps might reach the mid 40Cs and there will be a great fire risk ( more than our usual annual risk ). Every year we are worried by fire here so I suppose this year will be more extreme. Usually we might get temps over 40C a couple of times a year but they are saying this will be longer.
