Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but wet start to the day here in brackley this morning.
Todays plan a early bus to Bicester , have a coffee and a snack , maybe a beer as ell , before a shop and hopefully cat to those I know.
Watch the Tour of Spain on TV , my health is OK.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everybody from sunny Ibiza where I’m pleased to report I slept like a log last night and I’ve only just woken up (9am here too!).

I’m going down for my breakfast shortly and then I plan to hit the beach over yonder (see pic I just took) later this morning.

It feels good to be well again 😁 I’m ready to start my holiday now!

Redcar Tue 08-Sept-26 07:52:17

Happy Birthday monk08 I hope you have a good day!

Good morning from Shropshire.A cooler start to the day.

Yesterday’s visit to mum was pretty awful. She is a shell of a person now and it seems cruel what passes as her life.My brother phoned just as I was leaving the home which helped as we both were able to voice what we felt.We also had a chat with the home’s chaplain who visits mum daily. As usual my dear husband was my rock.

Today I have the dentist🤪my biggest fear. What a start to the week!I am focusing on being home this afternoon and starting my new book.

Thinking of all who are unwell and who have worries of any kind.A lot of us at the moment.

I have to mention FGT who I am in awe of.Going out of your comfort zone is amazing.I hope you are feeling better and have a lovely time.I am sure Himself is looking down and thinking that’s my girl. Our original warrior woman💪💐

Wishing everyone a good day 🌻🦩

Good morning from a dull and rainy N.Bucks. Very achy this morning, I swear damp weather make it worse.
Happy Birthday Monk.
This morning I shall visit my friend who is in a care home.
We have an appointment with a solicitor this afternoon to sort out our POAs. We been meaning to do them for ages.
Otherwise I just have one side of my quilt to bind and then must get the materials together for our craft club project tomorrow.
Happy travels for those on the move. Thoughts with those who are poorly.
Wising all a good day with a smile along the way.

Grandmabatty I hope today is easier for you💐

Good morning Mick and everyone from a Carlisle of sun and cloud....showers are promised later.
Yesterday I collected my repaired partial plate...and have the dentist to look forward to later in the week. I did a little shopping then it was back home to a bit of cleaning and some gardening after lunch...another plant put in and a bit of pruning done. I have a very vigorous pyracantha and yesterday wasn't the first time this summer that it has had a serious haircut. It always produces a mass of beautiful yellow berries which the blackbirds won't touch unless they're absolutely desperate.

Today I'll finish the basic housework jobs for the week and hopefully tick off some of the little ones on my list, in between read my book of short stories, some of which are rather dire and I'm skipping through them. I used to religiously read a book thoroughly from end to end, not now, life is too short to waste on things you don't enjoy when there are plenty you do.

Wishing those of you with problems or unwellness better days!

Enjoy your birthday, Monk! 💐🎂

Good morning from Stockport, I am still in bed so haven’t looked out at the weather yet but it is quite dark.
I am going out for a sandwich and coffee at 12:30 so need to get my hair washed soon.
Yesterday was uneventful, the Pharmacist wasn’t concerned about my blood results apart from slightly raised Cholesterol.
Sainsbury’s arrived and was put away and I did a bit more tidying .
I wish for a decent day for you all and a very Happy Birthday to Monk

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve grey clouds but with sunshine too
A very Happy Birthday monk enjoy your day today
I’m a bit late waking up after a busy day yesterday, I was out dancing last night and it took me quite a while to get to sleep afterwards. This morning I’m off to the gym and then this afternoon I’ve got a hair appointment. My hair seems to have really lightened up this last few weeks and I’m looking forward to getting it back to a better colour.
Hope your appointment goes well today marzipan and love the photo!
Hoping everyone has the best day they can, take care all 💐

Good morning from a grey drizzly Suffolk. It’s good to see rain but is nothing like as much as we need.

I started writing this about 20 minutes ago but stopped when the scaffolders arrived to erect scaffolds so the rest of the outside painting can be completed…3 men but only 1 wanted a drink. Luckily I bought more sugar with the weekly order.

It must be at least 7 or 8 years since we last had scaffolding erected but the man in charge clearly remembered coming before. We discussed the change in health and safety regulations as now they can’t proceed without a signed certificate from UK Power detailing the cladding put on live electric wires, which are all overhead around here.

No such paperwork last time although the work was done….

DH has an optician’s appt about 15 miles away so I may go with him, shop whilst he has his eye test and then we can meet for coffee.

Hope all have a good day with as much rain as needed.

Good morning from an overcast NE but with a forecast of 18°.
Today is eldest GD's 21st birthday but won't be seeing her as we celebrated at the weekend.
She will be returning to university, for her final year, shortly. .
Yesterday DS sent me a message from GD2's school praising her for her outstanding work, it was only her fourth day in 6th form.
Sister and BIL are having their garden landscaped so he brought my sister's car and parked it at mine giving the gardeners more room to work.
My elder sister, from Germany, has said she will visit this afternoon. I usually find her visits tiring, we really are chalk and cheese.
Our cousin took ill at the weekend, he has pancreatitis and they think gallstones, he was visiting his daughter so the hospital is not near his home. We had just received invitations to his wife's birthday party now not sure if it will go ahead.
Happy birthday monk.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a wet W Kent. We did visit our favourite garden yesterday and it is recovering well from the long dry spell. We wandered around and I came away feeling calmer.
Today is U3A monthly meeting with a talk on a garden I think.
Happy birthday Monk
Thinking of all of you with tests and appointments today
Best wishes

Good morning everyone from a rather damp Northampton; yes we have a bit of light rain! But it should clear up by this afternoon in time for my walking group.

Yesterday was fine, yoga was difficult! and I managed to get out for my daily mile, well it was actually a mile and a half. Caught up with some of the newspapers in the afternoon.

Bit the bullet and booked a hotel for my niece's wedding in December; it is some distance away and now I have to work out the logistics of getting there. I am sure things will sort themselves out.

A bit of pottering this morning, then out for my walk after lunch.
Wishing all a pleasant Tuesday.

dragonfly46 Tue 08-Sept-26 08:20:27

Good morning from a damp Leicestershire.

Popping to town today to try and get some trousers for Pilates. Mine have disappeared!
Then I have Pilates after which I have a phone appointment with the doctor hoping to persuade her to refer me to the spinal clinic. The osteopath thinks with my injuries I should.

I hope they are wrong about your Lupus RosesandLilac.
I hope all the dental visits go well and pleased you are better FGT.
Happy Birthday Monk.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Usedtobeblonde Tue 08-Sept-26 08:25:04

Me again, for some strange reason I had only read half the posts this morning I have no idea why.
So commiserations to Grandmabatty my D had lots of problems until her gallbladder was removed.
Pleased you are back on form FGT.
Susan a difficult time for you which many of us have been through.
My mind has gone blank now as to what ails others so just blame my very old brain but be assured I was thinking of you when I read the posts.

Usedtobeblonde Tue 08-Sept-26 08:26:02

Oh it was Marzipan and sincere good wishes with her scan.

latedecember1963 Tue 08-Sept-26 08:26:46

Good morning everyone from a damp Lancashire.

Happy birthday Monk. Hope you have a lovely day. 🎂🥂

A poignant day, Helterskelter, but perhaps it will be nice to have your DH 'home' while you choose his resting place. There's the old saying, robins appear when loved ones are near. I always say, "Hello Dad," when I see one in our garden.

I know it's not funny, but I had to laugh when you said about the scaffolding post in front of your front door, GrandMattie. Honestly, it's like a subtheme in a sitcom, only you couldn't make it up! My Mum definitely dodged a bullet when she decided against moving to an Anchor apartment.

The little chap has hit the terrible twos with a vengeance so I've gone back to basics with quite a structured routine and simple instructions rather than 'should we' or 'would you like to' questions. Yesterday was a much better day with fewer tantrums and bedtime was much calmer.

I know it's a developmental stage, but I'm a quarter of a century older than when DD went through it! The lovely description of Bellasnana's grandsons sleeping on her lap remind me we'll get there.

Sending good wishes to those of you who are having health woes and/ or dental issues. As my Anglesey friend says, "Age brings it's friends."

Wishing you all the best day possible. 🌻

brook2704 Tue 08-Sept-26 08:44:10

A difficult day today helterskelter, thinking of you ❤️

GrannySomerset Tue 08-Sept-26 08:55:20

A very disturbed night for no obvious reason so feel like a wet rag this morning. Wonderful Cleaner and bed changing the star activities this morning and as it’s raining drying the bedding in the drier - a shock after so many fine weeks.

Glad FGT is feeling better and ready to enjoy life again, thinking of all the GC back at school and college and hoping I feel a bit more human as the day goes on.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 08-Sept-26 08:57:42

Happy Birtjday Monk 🍾🎂🥂

Lovely to see you posting Marzipan

Helterskelter I have had my darling Mum and step-Father in one of our guest rooms for the last four years, I find it quiet comforting, as it was their favourite bedroom to stay in here 😿

HelterSkelter1 Tue 08-Sept-26 09:01:08

Thank you for kind comments. Yes I thimk I will find it comforting to have his ashes back home for however long.

Usedtobeblonde Tue 08-Sept-26 09:04:59

My H’s ashes have been in my wardrobe for 7 and a half years just waiting for mine to join them when they will be scattered together.

Peacelilydilly Tue 08-Sept-26 09:14:45

Good morning from Somerset where I'm on holiday and its pouring rain🙁 it was boiling hot on Sunday and I was wishing I'd brought my shorts now I'm wishing I'd brought my coat.

NannyJan53 Tue 08-Sept-26 09:31:10

Good morning from a damp and drizzly Black Country, where it rained overnight. Seems to have stopped now though.

Travelled down to Bristol yesterday, to spend a few hours with MrJ's DD and her partner. Lovely meal out with them, then check into Hotel which was literally a 5 minute walk away.

Then we had a lovely day yesterday at Bristol Lido. Two hour swim/Sauna/Steam room/Hot Tub, then lunch afterwards in their Restaurant. It was a present from MrJ's daughters last Christmas.

Today I am going with my friend to the Silver Surfers Cinema to see Sheep Detectives. £2 with coffee and biscuit.

Wishing you all the best day possible
