Good Morning Wednesday 9th September 2026

Good morning from a dry Bristol. It did rain gently all morning yesterday, but, suddenly, in the afternoon the rain switched off and the sun came out!
The morning was quiet and I baked some lemon cake and ginger nuts for today, and made a mushroom soup for lunch, then sewed.
In the early afternoon, three residents and I went round “phase 1”of the painting, taking notes of the things remaining to be done, + things like paint sloshed onto the brickwork…
Soon after, I had another meeting regarding the later life charity groups. Well run, not long but productive.
Home for dinner and early bed as I was tired.
Today, I’ve got FAB cafe as usual, then my monthly book group in the next village’s library. The book this month, a light whodunnit, was by Tim Sullivan and set in Bristol.

Good morning from Malta where another sunny day is forecast with a high of 37°C.

I’m up watching the tennis. It was scheduled to start at 2am our time so I set the alarm. Checked to see if the ladies match had finished but it went on until nearly 5am so I’ve been up and down all night.

No plans today other than a walk to the pharmacy to make a doctor’s appointment.

Good morning from Belfast.
Yesterday turned out quite pleasant so I decided to pot geraniums up for winter and find a place for them probably the porch.
Washing machine repaired so sheets will be going on washing line as soon as it's light.
DH had a meeting last night and tonight as well everything starting again it means I have to be organised for dinner early.
Don't know what I'm doing today I'm sure something will turn up.

A bit of a cheat this one, I’m in Vancouver so having a quick peek before I go to sleep!

It’s been a beautiful day, we have walked many miles, taken a sea bus and had our picnic lunch in the sky garden at the top of Vancouvers public library.

Tomorrow is our last day before we fly home on Thursday, we are going to walk the Lynn Valley suspension bridge and as long as there are no bear signs we will take a hike.

Had a wonderful time here visiting our son and partner.

Just hoping the airport chaos will have been sorted before we leave.

Good morning from south somerset, it is going to be a lovely sunny bright day

My trip to Wales is postponed, a heavy cold at their end so I have an unexpected free day. I made 5 ready meals and prepared a lot of charlotte potatoes they were just starting to sprout and are now safely in the freezer, apart from 5 baking size which will keep in the fridge for up to three weeks

I feel like a cycle ride to my allotment, I have some work I can do up there

Good morning from a cloudy but dry Torbay.

DH was due to arrive today but has had to cancel all his plans because he has a leak in his bathroom at his home in France that he can’t fix and so will have to stay at home and call out a plumber. I feel so sorry for him and also for my DGS3 as we were due to go up to Rugeley tomorrow to watch him in a play. It looks as if I’ll have to travel alone.

Toddlers resumes today so that's my morning sorted will see how tired I am afterwards as to how my afternoon will go.

Good morning from Haverfordwest

I really enjoyed our cycle ride yesterday. A great path, flat and off road.Lots of lovely scenery and a great cafe at the end with three choices of gluten free cake and not one a brownie! A rare treat. Didn’t do much after that. Called off at a shop for a few essentials and did a couple of charity shops. I picked up some beautiful cornflower blue wool. 5 balls so I can crochet something for myself, 50p a ball. It was originally from Woolworths for 75p. Its not been used for anything else, goodness knows how old it is.

Tenby is on the agenda today . Last time I was there our youngest was in a cot and he’s 40 next year . We stayed in a flat above Timpsons shoe shop. I remember struggling up the narrow stairs to get up to it with a bulky pushchair and 3 small children.

Good morning from sunny Greece. Good flight yesterday but DS has a bad cold. Selfishly I’m hoping I don’t get it. The apartment is nice and last night a delicious meal of beef in red wine and onions with accompanying Greek salad.

Today a relaxing day around the pool reading Rupert Everett’s autobiography and my sister arrives later. I hope the air traffic problems recently don’t affect her. Another good meal tonight!

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm awake far too early especially as it's to be a busy day ahead.

My lodgers have already left this morning after being here since January. They're flying home to Nepal today.
They came to supper last night.

Chiropractor followed by book packing, followed by an auctioneer's appraisal and a computer repairer who will hopefully help me sort out the various laptops and hard drives and tell me what I can dispose of and what should be kept.
A friend is collecting a drum kit for her DC.
This evening a removals company is coming to give me a quote and other friends are coming to see if I have any furniture they can use for their new house.

After writing all this down I shall try to get another hour's sleep!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is cool but holds the promise of a fine dry day. Washing machine is doing its stuff already.

Yesterday I had a good session with my chiropractor. She chatters non stop while she works and always has me chuckling. In the afternoon I walked to school where they are still doing assessments for who will need reading help this year, so I read with year four - last year’s year three - who all seemed pleased to pick up where we left off.

At teatime I had toothache! I have some sensitive back teeth and the dentist has been keeping a watch on them. I may have to go and see him sooner rather than later.

Writers group at the library this afternoon, and a few things to shop for while at the mall.

We have a funeral to go to this morning, DH’s friend of nearly 50 years. This afternoon I need to pack for our very early flight to Jersey tomorrow.

How terrifying for your friend Gingster! The safety warnings about water in gardens is usually aimed at keeping children safe, it just shows that adults have to be wary too. Hope her ribs are recovering.

I saw The Sheep Detectives on Amazon Prime, NannyJan, and it was good gentle fun. 🐑🐑🐑

Toddler Group starts again today ( hooray!!) So we'll go to that this morning.
There were slightly fewer tantrums yesterday so fingers crossed for today when we're out and about.

While we were in the garden yesterday I noticed that some of my pots are looking past their best. I'll try to empty them over the next few days.

In the evening I started knitting a snood using circular needles. I tried it last week but my needles were too long and kept twisting so I've swapped to 40cm and it's better.
I think I still prefer using separate needles but this pattern doesn't give me a choice.

Good morning everyone from a dry and sunny (but cool 13degrees) central south coast.

I am sleeping better and wonder if it's linked to the high strength vitamin D I have restarted. Even DH noted yesterday that I am moving better. Still have problems with my arms and certain movements cause sharp twinges. Do they make WD40 for humans?

DH is out with his cycling club today so I am pleased the forecast is good for them. They will have a coffee stop followed by lunch later and home by 3.30pm. I shall start the Tesco delivery order for Friday and must try and send my Manx niece another anecdote about my Mother's side of our family. She is very interested and requested them.

Hope everyone's plans work out well today, travels are safe and on time and everyone with struggles or worries finds some relief and ease today.
