Today I can only say Morning Michael and all GN's on a very dark and still morning in North Yorkshire. I have had such a bad night, with so much pain and cramps, that if I could have been sure of knocking myself out, I would have banged my head on the wall! The exhaustion from lack of sleep and any comfort of any kind is just making life very hard at the moment. Also lack of sleep is now encouraging the excema to rear its ugly head, so that my skin itches so much I have to scratch it, despite knowing that even the slightest relief from that will be outweighed by the pain I feel. About 4am I just gave in and once the wretched cramp eased off went in the shower, so that at least my hair is washed and I am a clean grumpy person! My rules regarding allowing myself to have a drink etc are thrown to the winds and I am hoping this coffee will please me enough to calm down and try to relax, although right now every movement of my legs are threatened by yet more cramp. What a flipping morning!!!
Yesterday I had intended to go down to the market amongst other things, but decided to polish my halo and go through some paperwork and try to check on the files and throw out old stuff etc. I was not enjoying the job , but could begin to see some inroads into the pile and two neat new piles of things for the files, and things that needed checking up on before getting rid of them were pleasing to see, until I went to make myself a coffee and as I walked back to my desk saw, to my horror, the pile slowly sliding and then falling off the desk into a messy heap below. I couldnt move fast enough to catch it or make any difference, so another ratchety moment, wishing I had a punch bowl to thump.
Before I went to whist I spent some futile time , trying to find my phone - to no avail - despite searching high and low and checking all pockets of jackets etc. Then the tv remote control had disappeared so that I eventually left for whist, early and in disgust. Despite being early the car park was full and so was the hall. I think the darker colder day , and the return to a sense of normality after the school holidays encouraged everyone to come back to what passes for normality!
Had a job to park and hobble in, but it was buzzing and it was good to catch up with news and views from everyone. All the farming fraternity are well ahead of their jobs, with this early harvest , and I think Stokesly show will be very busy, as it is this saturday and very popular, but if the harvest is late or rain threatens it has to be abandoned by the farmers , So this year I think it will be very busy indeed. I had planned to go myself, but firstly need to confirm that I would have a definite disabled parking space, and right now, I dont know if I could manage walking around. I will be sad and annoyed if I feel unable to go but can only hope that I will be fit enough to try it.
So had a mostly goodtime, playing to the best I could with the cards I was dealt, but neither good or bad score so no winnings. John grows cucumbers and tomatoes in his greenhouse, - think he was a market gardener before he retired, and so I was pleased to be able to get a cucumber , as I had just run out and as I hadnt had much to eat before I left, I planned to make myself up a mixed salad with peppers and celery ,tomatoes and beetroot etc. I duly made up my good little salad, but watching Downton Abbey I then looked at the salad and saw that I had forgotten to put any cucumber on it!! Couldnt do much but planned to wash up and get the washing into the machine early, but so far, have only crept in here o sit for a while. Opened the window and can hear the rain dripping down so no great rush anyhow today!!
I have the womans group meeting today, but cant for the life of me remember what we are doing, and sent an email to one of the organisers to ask what we were doing but no reply yet. Have just had to shut the window as the rain is now coming in, so not sure if it will ease off so that I can venture out on the yellow peril. With the extortionate price of fuel right now, I am trying to avoid using the car where possible! Cant see the remote control for the tv and the phone seems to have done a runner, so not been my day so far!! Ah well I am at least clean if nothing else and shall shortly get dressed in nice clean clothes from the skin outwards and get the washer going. fingers crossed there is nothing stopping the cleaners coming this pm, although given my start to today, nothing would surprise me!!
Well Mike I hopeyou have a good trip in today and meet a few friends. I will come back later to read other news and views and hope to have cheered up and have something good to say even if is only that I have found the phone!!
Well I shall continue with my campaign for equality for disabled people in the area and will start taking photos of pot holes to go with my complaints and see if I can galvanise people to take pictures of the worst ones near them and add to my collection that I dont want to have!! Definitely going to carry on with my hotel disabled situation and hope to see or ring the trading standards at the very least this morning. If the hotel attempt to fob me off or make light of it I shall be writing to the local paper and organising a massed arrival at their doors by as many wheelchair and buggy users and inviting the local paper to be there.
So my day is going to be firstly finding out what is on at the group and if it is bingo I shall not be going!! Each to their own but a more boring game I cant imagine , and there is no skill to it either , so it doesnt let my mind wander off away from all the things that annoy me. Not up to attempting even a short walk , and my flipping back is already at worst nagging pain to start the day well!!
I am hoping that it is just my rather miserable day and that lucky others are still fast asleep in bed or rushing around setting the world to rights and at the same time with whirlwind speed supplying breakfast and various items of clothing , and looking forward to that blissful moment when you are able to sit down with coffee and an old friend and begin your new forays out after the school holidays.
