Something very strange happened.

(sorry, it posted itself) it by the hand basin overnight, so I cleared the whole work surface by the basin and searched for it Nothing there. So I checked every item as I put things back in place and left the usual square foot of space completely clear next to the basin before going to bed.

Next morning, I woke dreading having to search the garden, a hopeless task. I went into the bathroom and there, in the centre of the empty square foot next to the basin, sat my missing hearing aid. To say that I was flabbergasted is putting it mildly. I still can’t think of any logical explanation. Any ideas or similar happenings?

Do you live alone....is it possible someone in your family found it and put it where you would be most likely to see it?

Yes, once looked all over for my HRT patch as I could have sworn I put one evening before.
Told my husband I’d must have forgotten to apply one. Later that day he was helping me to fasten my sandal straps, it was on the bottom of my foot. I never felt it 😳😂

I found a piece of the ceiling on the carpet of my living room …. I looked up and thought oh I’ve got to the plasterer’s in - any way, looked up, checked the whole ceiling and found the ceiling intact. Till today I don’t know where that piece of mortar came from. I’ve kept it safe in the garage. I get most of my visitors to try and fathom it, but no luck.

I lost the envelope containing my new bank card, which I was sure I had propped up on my desk. Searched everywhere, crawled underneath, emptied my small study, nowhere. Looked everywhere I could think of, including the bins. Sitting at my desk later and decided I would have to cancel the card and wait for a new one, nudged the desk, heard a slight sound, and underneath was the envelope with card. Think it must have been trapped at the back of the desk against the wall, but I did look previously.
[I do admit to making a plea to Saint Jude, patron of lost things, I think, and sent a heartfelt prayer of thanks immediately upon discovery.]

Recently decorated bedroom and I knew I had bought about a year ago pink lillies that would just suit the finishing touches in the bedroom. Hunted hi and low, DH said you must have thrown them out' that was a definite NO - just wouldn't do that 100% sure of that. Looked all around in every cubpoard, everywhere else etc. Went into living room a few hours later and what was there in a nice blue vase the pink lillies, knew I hadn't thrown them out - what's in my head!!!

I know CC I placed my house keys on a cardigan pocket which I hung on the bannisters. Key vanished but never ever saw them again.

There was a recent thread on this phenomenon which was interesting.
It’s definitely happened to me.

I can be searching for something, look in every nook and cranny and not find it , next time I look it's there ..is it that we're concentrating so much that we don't see what's in front of us...

It might be The Borrowers. They are pretty dermined.

St Jude is patron saint of lost causes easybee while St Anthony is more traditionally associated with help to find lost things but in any case, I'm very glad saintly intervention worked for you as it has for me many times.

And how very odd chicken I can't think of any logical explanation. I know I "lose" things ie can't find something, sure I've looked everywhere only to come across it in the first place I looked but I usually put it down to elderly distraction rather than a strange event such as yours

I keep all our photos in boxes in the drawers in a writing bureau, I have a lot of old photos that belonged to my mum, one of them was her brother when he was just a young man, standing on the front steps of a house where he worked, this photo must have been taken about the 1930's.I always knew just where to get it, which box it was in.well I have emptied every one of the boxes...and taken the drawers out, looked through every photo and I can't find it , maybe one day when I'm not looking for it, it will appear...hope so..

Lost an earring a while ago.

Searched high and low, particularly in the bedroom where I get dressed/undressed and store my clothes.

DH helped also, but no joy.

Several days later, just looked down when in that room, and there was the earring!

I know we had both searched there.
