Good morning from a dark and chilly corner of La Sarthe. Yesterday we actually sat outside in the afternoon in the warm sunshine.

I forgot to mention that on Saturday we enjoyed a rabbit stew which DH had made. Rabbit is readily available in the local supermarket and makes a cheap and tasty meal.

Sending get well wishes to those in need and bon voyage to our travellers, including BlueSapphire on the high seas! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It has rained most of the night but appears to have stopped. We really need this as we haven’t had much of the rain other parts of the West Country have received,
Yesterday was full on. The baptism was of a delicious little 5-6 month old boy, Noa, who spent his time waving and grinning toothless lay at everyone. He enjoyed all the indignities too!
Once home, I boiled the fruit for cake, had lunch, then started the serious baking/cooking. I made some flapjacks, some ginger cake, used up an aubergine, and made the chicken stew for tonight. I’m hosting a farewell dinner for my 4 FAB cafe friends, one of whom is moving to the outer suburbs at the weekend. No car and bus routes are complicated, so she’s not coming back.
Today, I’m off to my local Tesco (no F&F ☹️), line dancing at the not WI, the rushing home to host the very early dinner…
The rest of the week is full but not quite as busy; I no longer can have so much on.
Ash, DH loved rabbit, but it’s very hard to find here and mostly imported from China. Happy cruising, Blue. Hope MD and family are on the upward trend, ditto got the others in the same situation.
Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning Michael and all GN's from a cold dark North Yorkshire. Another struggling morning, with my back very painful, so not making any plans for the day. Will have to sees if things improve at all.

Yesterday was a very domestic day, where I did manage to do quite a bit of clearing out and sorting, but unfortunately still no sign of my watch and various other things I had hoped to retrieve. I was feeling tired all day and did drop off to sleep for a couple of naps , which helped me at the time to feel a bit more alive and get things done, but definitely didnt help last night, as between my leg hurting and my back refusing to settle down or find a comfortable place, it was a rubbish night, helped a little bit by occasionally listening to radio 3 unwind. So glad to be up actually.

Everything seemed to take forever yesterday, but at least I did finally make up my venison stew, which was so good that when I had it for my sunday dinner with a glass of red wine, my original intention of leaving some or freezing some to go with a jacket potato another day was ignored and I ate it all. It really was very good, and a very warming and comfortable meal and I shall keep an eye out for more in a reduced price zone. (Why is it that I really enjoy expensive things?)

Anyway I felt that that was a reward for my halo earning efforts. The DID and private passions were good accompaniments to my efforts. If my back improves I will carry on a bit more today. It looked lovely and bright outside, but whilst I was in the mood to do the sorting I carried on. Later I watched Antique Roadshow and the last part of the Time and went to bed feeling I had at least made some inroads into jobs.

Today at some point I need to go and get milk and a few bits, but just the odd thin and hope that the shower can work its magic on my back. Suddenly sneezed just now and ouch! ouch! So it will be yellow peril to the rescue.

Hope your delivery comes early Mick and you can get out and about .Ashcombe , my granny was a great shot, and I used to love rabbit stew , which was cooked on the old range kind of cooker and with jacket potatoes would sit simmering there ready to eat when we came in from a chilly job feeding stock or whatever. I remember the awful miximatosis, where the poor things would be just sat there staring. It was a horrible disease and I think that even when that had gone, it left people not wanting or trusting rabbit to be safe. Occasionally we used to have hare too, but cooked simply in a casserole not done as jugged hare.I hope the weather stays good for you and you enjoy your break.

Time to creak off and see if I can manage a shower yet, and then can come back and read more posts from everyone. Think it is definitely time to search out the gloves and hats and put away that last thin pair of trousers Wishing everyone a good start to their week with success in jobs and a chance to meet up with friends or family

Good morning everyone from somewhere off the NW coast of Spain, calm seas and a fine day expected; Bay of Biscay was like a millpond!

We are now on European time and an hour ahead so it's 7.15am here. Just had TIB, and contemplating getting up for an early breakfast.
Went to the show in the theatre last night - a ventriloquist/comedian who was excellent.
Will just take today as it comes, will probably do a walk around the deck, then some reading, and then I see there is a ballet class this afternoon so will give that a go.
Formal night tonight so on with the posh frock - have just remembered that formal night means a champagne breakfast!

Wishing all a pleasant Monday.

Good morning from Herefordshire. Light rain, but forecast to be a mild day.

Yesterday's drive from Wales was straightforward thank goodness. Having stayed with my relative all last week I shall miss her company. I had considered moving to Wales before. It's a little bit too remote for me where she is though. I prefer to be close to amenities and could not tolerate needing to drive everywhere. I like having the option of walking to places.

I semi woke up several times in the night feeling chilly. Time to get the winter duvet on.

Monday Pilates as usual then a trip to the supermarket. I also need to go to the library to return a book and borrow a new one but I think I might leave that until tomorrow.

Happy Monday to all.

Good morning from a chilly Glasgow, where it is -1 degrees.

Yesterday morning, DH scraped my car for me, but I had to re-do it. Then my boot jammed, then boot wouldn't open. I yanked it and the parcel shelf cord broke.

Drama at Mass, we had to call an ambulance. The poor lady, collapsed and took half a dozen chairs with her,
I shall find out today how she is.
Thankfully, my strict parking enforcement worked.
The ambulance arrived in fifteen minutes and there were no selfish parkers blocking access.
The usual very late, selfish Parker arrived just before the ambulance, was about to block the front door, spotted me and abandoned her car elsewhere.

I had another cardiac dizzy spell yesterday afternoon, it always happens, when I have been busy, then resting. It may be my BP dropping. We were in bed at 8pm last night, unknown for us.

We have Dollie, so I need to get the pancakes made. The leftovers will come down to church with me.
I have so much to do this morning.
DH wants to come to Mass. He is still covered head to foot in hives. It's not contagious, but he will sit in a corner anyway.
He is too afraid to go at the weekend, in case he takes ill.
All masses are extremely busy and rather claustrophobic and I too find it overwhelming.

I wish you all a pleasant day.

Best wishes to all, who have mountains to climb.

Good morning, it’s been raining here in south Glos but I’m not convinced that it’s amounted to much. We still have the hosepipe ban and it’s going to take biblical amounts of rain to rectify the shortage.
I had a lovely walk with bigger dog yesterday, wandering around and enjoying the sunshine. I picked up a handful of beautiful autumnal leaves and more lichen covered twigs. Sadly there were two dead dear in the lane; I managed to drag them onto the grass verge. One was a muntjac, the other a young roe deer. So sad to see.
We have a lot of both species around here, we frequently hear muntjac with their barking call.
The trees in the woods behind us are changing colour, leaves are falling quickly when it’s breezy and I noticed yesterday that several of the fir trees seem to have died from the drought.
The Bryony berries in the hedgerows are a bright scarlet, very striking in the sun. Ivy berries are still green and the hawthorn berries look quite wizen on many bushes.
The window cleaner will be here shortly, I think DH has taken tiddler out so I need to get up and pay him.
The fridge needs cleaning so that’s a job for this morning, what an exciting life I live!
Best wishes to everyone x
