I would like to be an ecology and sustainability officer.

Gosh that a difficult one. I've always fancied the job of red panda stroker and cuddler. Somehow there don't seem to be any vacancies. sad

If I'd to start out again I would choose a trade. Plumbing or engineering, trades that weren't open to girls when I left school.

Childcare I think.

Hard work, but enjoyable.

Would not apply for jobs those jobs that expected you to iron/do housework as well with it all.

I would be picky which jobs in that sector I applied for.

Archaeologist.
Or research scientist in the pharmaceutical industry.

Yes, there are vacancies in the UK.

However, you might have to deal with other, less desirable, creatures too.

Not exactly a job but some years ago I looked seriously at opening a garage with only women mechanics.
Reason being ( I’m sure you all know) women are often treated badly in garages.
I’m ok because I live with the original petrol head. But so many of my femail friends have been ripped off.

Ever since whatever she was called, became a female garage mechanic in Neighbours, I have watched out for female garage mechanics in real life.
I have never met any.

I did expect that to take off when ah yes, Charleen, became one in a soap opera.
Never happened.
Unless they all live in different areas to me.

I think Charlene has done all right for herself since she left the garage.

Princess Auto Mechanic was the nickname for the then Princess Elizabeth when she completed a driving and vehicle maintenance course during WW2.

I’d love to be a JCB digger. I was allowed to have a go some years ago when our extension was being built and not only was I rather good at it I loved it. I loathed my working years in offices.

I always said I would either be a Cadbury's chocolate taster or a Jimmy Choo shoe tester grin

When I was teaching I wanted to be a researcher for the BBC children's programmes. However, we moved to the Netherlands and that dream was scuppered.
If I had my time over I would have done a degree in Information Technology.

I would have liked to be an actress. I've always been involved in drama since I was 11 but went to study librarianship at 18. I loved reading too, and that took over.

A surgeon. Failing that an actor.

J52 Tue 27-Oct-26 13:19:04

A properties acquisition buyer for films and stage shows.

I'd like to be a professional occultist and psychic medium. That's something that I view as potentially on the cards, but only after I've built up my skills and experience to some significant degree.

I also enjoy acting, so professional actor is a job I'd probably like.

I’d still be a teacher, but otherwise I’d like to have been an electrician or a plumber, both jobs I’m paying people to do for me.

A scientist.
I love cooking and mixing up different ingredients to see what the outcome is.
Ive always felt that I missed my vocation. I've always been curious, asking questions and trying for new outcomes.

Oh, I would train as a researcher in an academic library, no contest! I wish we could know as teenagers what we're going to be good at later in life.

LadyGaGa Tue 27-Oct-26 13:48:05

A backing singer in a soul band (yes, I love The Commitments 😂)
