I never buy from Facebook. I look up the company it's supposed to be and check it out from there.
Glad it worked out for you.

I recently fell for a scam advertisement on Instagram, I realised afterwards that the algorithms must have picked up the searches on my phone relating to an issue I have with my jaw (not giving further details because I don't want to spark more activity!)

Once I realised it was false - complete with AI generated videos of "a UK dentist" who "developed the device" and "a UK physiotherapist" who endorsed it, and having soon discovered the company operates from a flat in Hong Kong, I emailed them to cancel my order but was informed this wasn't possible. I then raised a charge back and thankfully my request was upheld.

I was so angry with myself, but even angrier with the company who prey on people who are quite desperate for a solution.

I felt better getting my money back, and even better when I blocked all future communication from these scammers and better still when I made a detailed report to the Advertising Standards Authority.

The thing is - I'm usually completely astute when it comes to spotting a fraud, so this was a lesson to never, ever again buy anything advertised on Instagram (or Facebook). The device finally arrived, and sure enough, it is poor quality junk and nothing like the medical device described in the advert.

I really cannot stand these scammers!
