Can’t believe I’ve done this already (C-word related, sorry!)

Bought two C-word presents!

I was idly browsing the National Trust online shop, where I found a really beautiful silk scarf - a light one, which is what I want for summer, I have plenty of heavier ones.

So I ordered 2 more, for sister and SiL.
Thought I’d post here in case anyone else might be interested. It’s the waterscape one. Colours are gorgeous and it will IMO go with so many things. £20, which I thought reasonable for silk.

Going to have a look at thatWitzend as C---- stresses me out . Well , choosing gifts does. Have already seen a problem here for me ! What if I buy now and then "they" ask for something specific !! Will shut up now and go look at those scarves . I have a gorgeous "Rennie McIntosh" silk scarf that I bought on a visit to Edinburgh NT shop.

I’ve taken mine out of the packaging - here’s a pic, in case anyone would like to see.

I’ve just done the same from the Museum shop, they had a sale on and I saw some things that I thought would keep, also some nice tins with tea in them that will also keep until December.

What a lovely scarf. I must admit I thought this might be another of ‘those’ threads and am glad it is not !

downtoearth Fri 14-May-21 11:45:33

That is lovely.

Callistemon Fri 14-May-21 12:14:09

Is this a record for a 'C' post?

It's not halfway through May yet Witzend!
It is a lovely scarf, though.

Reminder to self - must sew up the knitted 'N' set.

Grandmajean Fri 14-May-21 12:35:47

I had a look at it on the NT site. It is indeed beautiful and a very good price. I also like the fact that it is long as I find that shape easier to "mess about with" than the square.

Hence the apology in my title, Callistemon! But given how tempus doth fugit nowadays....

What’s the betting that come December I forget where I put them, though - or even that I forget having bought them in the first place? It has, ahem, been known in this house - some startling socks for a DB who likes startling socks - I came across them about 2 years later.

Are you really going to sew up the N set at last? I will be so pleased for all those bits, languishing all forlorn. Do let me know when it’s done - I might crack open a bottle of something fizzy (any excuse) ?

Shinamae Fri 14-May-21 13:28:02

What the heck is “C”?

Georgesgran Fri 14-May-21 13:34:30

Lovely scarf witzend.
Wonder how C this year will pan out? I’m not a fan of it, but I’ve just bought a gift for someone’s birthday next March! I call it forward thinking.

If it all gets done, including the wee donkey, I will send you a bottle of champagne!!
?

I THINK IT STANDS FOR CHRISTMAS.THERE IV'E SAID IT LOL

Shinamae Fri 14-May-21 13:43:42

Thank you for that, I was beginning to think I had intruded on a very specialist specialist read and I’m going to now leave it....

Shinamae Fri 14-May-21 13:44:04

Thread!

Callistemon Fri 14-May-21 13:46:17

Yes, it's quite shocking really, Shinamae

?
(Sorry)

Who knows how it’ll pan out,*Georgesgran?*. This time last year I was blithely thinking it’d all be over by C-word, and was gaily knitting ditto things for Gdcs and their school fair - for me it was something cheerful to do during lockdown.

In the event of course the school fair never happened. However they did have an online raffle where a big fat F****r C*******s
and an N-word set* evidently went down well.
*the thing with shepherds and wise men etc.

Aveline Fri 14-May-21 15:31:24

That scarf is beautiful. I wish I knew how to wear them but somehow I just look silly when I try.

kittylester Fri 14-May-21 15:37:15

I've told you all before - no mention of the C word is allowed until after our annual street fair in November!!

As we didn't have the fair last year C didn't happen either. ??

It is a lovely scarf a but I can't cope with them either.

Callistemon Fri 14-May-21 16:09:44

*the thing with shepherds and wise men etc.
And a wee donkey

Sorry kittylester

Callistemon Fri 14-May-21 16:10:26

Ps Donkeys are not just for C******

Namsnanny Fri 14-May-21 16:24:20

Callistemon Fri 14-May-21 16:27:58

I did put enough ***** to spell the C word

(This should be interesting)

Callistemon Fri 14-May-21 16:28:16

[sigh]

Aldom Fri 14-May-21 16:36:45
