Quite interesting.

In our sister countries they have cultural identities like distinct language, clothing, food and the knowledge that they were once independent countries.

I wonder what the English can claim as distinct.

Also agree with Gg13

Yes! I would be delighted to see the country festooned with flags 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 every day actually but most especially today.

Happy St George’s Day, one and all.

I’m still proud of all the lovely people I know living in this country.

Yes, indeed. We’re away from home but would have had the flag out as is our usual custom on this day.

Also William Shakespere's Day! A weekend of events in Stratford upon Avon to celebrate and thank him.
I like to walk along on the opposite side of the river to observe the church where he is buried as it's a little more peaceful on these parade days and easier to flip back in time!
So many wonderful things to cherish about our beautiful countrysunshinesunshinesunshine

Some things which I think are quintessentially English

Afternoon Tea
Street Parties
Cheese rolling
Church Fetes
Morris Dancing
Picnics
Travelling Fairs
Travelling Circuses (minus the animals)
English seaside resorts
Palaces and Castles
History

I am fed up to the back teeth of England being dissed 😡😡😡

Happy St., George's Day!
Our flag is out & up! I do wish it would "flutter" more! It's a very heavy material, maybe we should buy a lighter one?
Flagpole & flags were my 60th birthday present, - 20 years ago!!

It is quite sad that while the Welsh and Scottish people are very proud of their nation the English in general are not.
The Welsh strive to keep their language and culture alive as I'm sure the Scottish must do.
What makes the English less proud of their country when there is so much to be proud of.

I’d add to that: Punch & Judy, seaside piers and pantomimes.
