Good morning from a dry, clear, bright Bristol. It’s hot and going to be hotter. Sigh.☹️
bellas, did you watch the tennis match where that poor young man collapse? I think it’s criminal to expect players of whatever sport to perform under such conditions.
Yesterday was interesting. I have arranged to meet a few GNetters in a cafe in north Bristol on Tuesday next week. I’ve never been there by bus and only visited twice before. I have got incredibly lost in Bristol and am very nervous of such events, especially if my bus app is ambiguous about the site of the stop.
So, I suggested to one of the AgeUK helpers that she should join GN and come with me. She’s lived in Bristol “forever” and knows the buses very well indeed! She’s now joined and we may well see her on this thread this morning. And, unless things change, we’re going to the meet-up together.
FAB cafe went well, people came to escape the heat.
We had a group meeting with our manager in the afternoon regarding repairs. Nothing has changed, nothing will. Everything depends on the budget but considering that nothing has been done in the 3 years I’ve been here, monies shouldn’t be so very tight! Sigh 😮‍💨
Today, I’ve got t’ai chi and dinner at DD’s.
Hope things improve with MD’s DH. Trust that you are all keeping safe in this unseasonal heat.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where the sky is what might be called “moody” at the moment. It is raining quite hard at the moment. I have been awake since about half past two, woken by what sounded like distant thunder. That was it then - no sleep in me.

Yesterday, after getting home from the library, I cut and trimmed the front lawn. Despite all the rain we had on Tuesday, the garden was parched so I had to give it a soaking last night.

I am supposed to be walking this morning, and then I will pick up GS, who is at home now for the holidays, and bring him back here. We have a job in the garden to finish that we started weeks ago but couldn’t finish and I promised I wouldn’t finish it without him. Trouble is now we have to work in an area that is full of rapidly growing plants which will make it very awkward. Still, nothing ventured. It will be good to have his company.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from a slightly cooler Black Country where it rained overnight.

Walking group walk this morning along our local canal, so hopefully much cooler conditions.

MrJ's DD is hopefully having her operation today, after falling over in London and breaking her leg!

Good luck with the meet up gM we have them now and again in Birmingham and they are very pleasant, and it's good to put faces to names.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning everyone from a cloudy Anglesey.
Sorry I've missed a couple of days.
The heat has meant the little chap waking early and being here on my own with him makes it difficult to post until too late in the day.

The weather has been amazing but it broke yesterday evening with a humdinger of a storm that lasted for hours. I'm used to them but the little chap was very spooked.
I had an evening of him cuddling me on the sofa reading his current favourite book over and over again. He finally settled about 11.30pm about 20 minutes after the last thunder so he's going to be tired today.

So frustrating about your building repairs, GrandMattie. At 1 time my mum considered moving to an apartment ( I think it was Anchor Homes) but she heard stories of the parent companies charging big service charges with little service to show for the fees. I'm sure they rely on people shrugging their shoulders and giving up.

Take care everyone. 🌞🌻

Good morning from Malta where it’s going to be sunny and 32°C.

I had a quiet day yesterday but enjoyed pottering about doing a bit of cleaning, and jobs around the house.

I did watch quite a bit of tennis but wasn’t watching the match where Mensik collapsed. He’s only 20 and had just won a five-setter in over four hours. I don’t know how they play in that heat.

I hope you enjoy your meet up grandMattie, very enterprising of you to set it all up and recruit a friend to go with you.

Hope all goes well with your step-daughter’s op today NannyJ.🙏🏻

I’ve got another day with no pressure to do anything nor go anywhere but I think I might go and buy a couple more plants.

Thoughts with you all, especially Marydoll . 🙏🏻

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

Good morning, the sun’s just coming over the horizon, pale skies and there’s a very noisy pigeon sitting on the gutter above my bedroom window.
I didn’t do much yesterday, it was less hot thankfully but my oomph was nonexistent 🙄
It’s going to be a bit cooler today so I’ll get the housework done without melting after I’ve taken tiddler out shortly. DH will walk bigger dog before it warms up.
I was messaging DDIL yesterday evening, she wants to have a go at embroidery so I will enjoy sharing my stash with her the next time they’re down.
I will probably spend some time in my Shed today, it’s been far too hot down there the last few days. Tiddler will join me 😍
Best wishes to you all 🌹

ld1963, our parent company is indeed Anchor. The fees are high but not outrageous. What is, is the neglect to the estate which has become very shabby and the “jam tomorrow” attitude of the upper management layers.
They have commissioned a contractor for the whole organisation. They are dreadful, and unfortunately there are another 2 years of the contract to go. This is instead of using local, known and reliable local traders. Grrr

A nice early good morning everybody from me in Málaga when it’s almost sunrise. I’m meeting a friend for lunch in Arroyo who used to live in Manchester. I haven’t seen her since Himself was first diagnosed so it will be a poignant catch up plus, she is in the process of divorcing her husband of many years who has sadly always ‘been a player’. They moved out here five years ago for yet another ‘fresh start’ but sadly leopards and spots come to mind

I took this pic last night of the lovely square in Torremolinos where the couple from Glasgow took me. It is near the Town Hall and looked so pretty bathed in the soft evening light … at 9pm! I was wearing a sleeveless dress and sandals it was so pleasant!

Sounds like my mum's gut feeling served her well, GrandMattie.
Such a shame, because the apartment she looked at was ideal in many ways.

Good morning from La Sarthe where we have another hot day expected. Yesterday it clouded over as we dined outside in the evening but the relief from the heat was temporary.

Before it was too hot we drove to Bonnétable for DH to collect his repeat prescription. It was already 29 degrees, according to the car thermometer and reached the mid thirties in the afternoon yet again by which time we had retreated to the coolth of the house.

I was sorry to read of Marydoll’s DH’s health issues and hope the latest medication helps to reduce his BP. Such a worry!

I hope your stepdaughter’s operation goes well, NannyJan53.

Keep cool, those in the heat and a good day to all. 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
