Good morning on this Midsummer Day!
It is bright and promising to be warm and sunny - the hottest and disagreeable weather is for later.
DS called me fairly early asking if he could come over in the morning. Yes, yes, yes! 🙌
I had a funny episode afterwards. I went to the chemist to pick up a prescription then took the bus back on my way to church coffee. Rang the bell and got up just before the stop. A young man stood before me to get off at the same stop. I thought I recognised the back, called DS’s name. Blow me if it wasn’t my lovely boy! We waited to get off the bus to have a hug…
We proceeded to church where, as usual, he charmed everything with a breath. It is very funny to watch.
We didn’t stay very long and went home, where we had another drink. He gave me the beautiful fabrics and the kilo each of spices. The photo shows what that looks like, cloves on lhs and cinnamon (squashed) quills on rhs. Apparently, it cost him a little over £10 for the lot!!!
As he needed cash and wanted to get a secondhand book, we went to the next village to the Oxfam shop, which has a really good selection of books. Lunch, then waited for DD to collect us - she’d been at a diocesan synod meeting most of the day.
We spent the afternoon with the family; although SiL, DS and I watched the RFU final. I got a little emotional as it was the first game I’d watched since DH died. I barely saw anyone, as usual, as they were all doing their own thing.
Today will be quiet. Church then make myself a pair of trousers with the fabric DS brought for me - it is bought by the piece of 6 yards! Goodness knows what I’ll do with the rest…
May your day be filled with sunshine, much laughter and troubles put aside. 🐦🔥 Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦒🦩
