Lighthearted - How long do you display Birthday Cards?

I am celebrating my 85th birthday over two Saturdays - a fortnight apart. My actual birthday fell on a Saturday, but with three of my younger g.children being involved with GCSE's, could not arrange the family celebration until two week later. Had a lovely afternoon tea with a couple of dozen local friends

Anyway, this means that I have lots of birthday cards, which i have put up on all available spaces in my Living Room. Many have been hand-made and I will keep these until the Saturday of my family party.

Just wondering how long after that I should still keep them up? So was wondering how long other G.N's display birthday cards.

Two weeks is the norm here at Gravy Grange

We always keep cards on display for a week. They are then stored with other cards (Christmas cards are kept separately) until… whenever!

My birthday is near Christmas, so I tend to leave birthday cards up for a few days after the decorations come down. This is what my mum used to do, as she said I should have a 'proper' birthday like everyone else, but it was always subsumed into Christmas.

One week then into the recycling bin.

Magenta8

One week then into the recycling bin.

A couple of weeks, then all except any from Gdcs (especially if handmade) into the bin.

About a week, then green bin for recycling.

As long as I fancy.
Up to 3 or maybe on rare occasions, 4 weeks!

We always seem to have hand made ones. I like to give the time and effort due respect!

And it's especially nice in the couple of weeks afterwards to say to my adult children or grandchildren when they visit how much I've enjoyed looking at them.

I put mine in the recycling bin today, after a week. We had a family meal out yesterday, otherwise they might have been gone before.
I had to smile when the postman brought some of them accompanied by a brochure for mobility scooters! smile

A couple of days in case there are any stragglers, I feel they should all go up for at least one day.

I keep particularly nice cards up forever. Especially as I only get about three birthday cards anyway!

2.5 weeks. I love to see my beautiful cards.
I was annoyed to pay a fiver each, years ago for cards for a friend & Sil, when I called day after with a gift, no sign of birthday cards.
So I asked why to both, up for one day & then straight in the bin.
So now I don’t bother with cards for them as they both said they don’t do cards.

Two weeks for me, too. Just like my mum.
