Good Morning Saturday 4th July 2026

Good morning from Malta where the high today is 35°C.

There was a lovely cool breeze yesterday so I took the boys to our little local play park for a while. DGS2 was definitely back to his old self, thank goodness.

The new hairdresser seems very nice and I was pleased enough with my hair to book a colour in a couple of weeks.

Today I shall get on my cross-trainer for half an hour, then the usual Saturday jobs around the house. I’ve been putting off doing the floors as I had the pest control people to spray last week. I’ve found three corpses so far so it has worked!🙌🏼

Hope all the anniversaries weee celebrated in style yesterday and that things will improve for Marydoll.

DGD did well in her softball tournament yesterday. How she plays in such high temperatures whilst wearing padding and helmet, I just don’t know, but she loves it!

I’ve just read the last pages of yesterday’s posts. Goodness, MD! Can no one in your your family or friends help?
I had an empty yesterday, Spanish having finished, this particular class forever.
I decided to make lavender bottles, so picked a lot (84 stems to be exact) and got out my bag of random ribbon. Mum had bought it for me in the ‘90s. That took me some time.
I also took an orange and my kilo of cloves into the garden, to make a pomander. 4 “bottles” made, one given to a friendly resident who came to chat. Then I got going on a pomander. Goodness, it takes a lot of cloves if they are to be packed close, leaving gaps for ribbon. I managed half before going in and will probably finish today.
Church coffee this morning then empty. This time of year has a lot of empty spaces in my life.

My summer duvet came off my bed again, to be replaced with a sheet and thin blanket, I am going to keep the duvet handy as the weather is so changeable

It was a very busy day, all day yesterday but I did tidy the kitchen before bed and I picked blueberries at 8. I have picked several kg already, nets on the bushes this year so I can pick every two days, there are still a lot of berries to ripen.

I am aiming for a more relaxing day today and will be out cycling by 9, I do like the safe extended route via my allotment. I will be home by 11.30 and will then sew all afternoon, I hope

Good morning everyone from Anglesey.
I once made a Christmas decoration from an orange, some ribbon and cloves after seeing it on Blue Peter and it used a lot of cloves, GrandMattie, so I only made the one.

Yesterday we went to the Slimming World group in Camaes. I'd put on half a pound. Too much tiger loaf this week! 🤣
Afterwards I took the little chap to the bay and we had a paddle in the sea. His laughter as the waves washed over our feet are infectious.

A year ago today we had the call to say the court had agreed he could come to us as kinship foster carers.
The following morning we went out to get the basics that a 4 month old would need as we had no idea what he would arrive with from the emergency carers.

DH should have been coming to see us for the weekend but he wasn't well at work yesterday so doesn't fancy travelling. I'll not think of today as Saturday so it won't seem so disappointing.

Good morning from Wiltshire.

Today I will see my 3 children but all separately. First will be DD2 for coffee and I will collect some cards and a present from her and say hello to GCs. Then we will drive to Newbury to see DS and his family. DGD2 is 13 next week so will drop off her cards and gifts. We won’t see her unfortunately as she is appearing with her theatre group in shows this weekend. Then onto Reading to DD1 and family whose birthday is tomorrow. We will go out to their fabulous local Indian restaurant and stay overnight.

I’d no idea what softball was until I saw the photo of your DGD Bellasnana. It looks dangerous! Glad she loves it.
