Why do I walk slap into this one every year?

Nowadays it is only a token argument but it was always about the choice of tree. I always wanted one up to the ceiling and bushy, he always wanted a skinny small one. Unfortunately (for him) I read one of his old school reports and his art teacher was not impressed with his taste!

No tree this year, no decorations, can't feel like celebrating without my son.

He doesn't do it because you do it. Try not doing anything about the tree next year and see what happens ?

If it is so important that the fairy lights on the Christmas tree are place just so, according to DH WHY DOESN'T HE B. WELL DO IT HIMSELF?

And why does muggins here walk into the same argument year after year?

Decorating the Christmas tree is by common consent my job, as I love doing it and DH hates it. Once the b. lights are on, DH butts out, but by then we have had the all too familiar argument.

What gets your goat every December?
