HI, decided to get all the present shopping done in one go...and managed it! I have made a few gifts as well........wooden boxes, painted and gemmed up, filled with goodies like make-up, nail products and even a small bottle of gin in one!

Wrote the greetings cards out too.

Such a satisfying feeling!

Well done Boodymum67 - the boxes are amazing! I wouldn't have known where to start!
I am with you having amassed and wrapped all my Christmas presents!
To be honest, I do buy bits and pieces throughout the year as I have so many to buy for, but I am not usually this organised! We are currently having our ancient 1970's bathroom ripped out and updated so the house is a building site. Added to that I managed to catch a nasty cold/stomach cramps 'bug' that has been going around so I was housebound in a house that I could move around in very much!
The solution was to occupy myself with a job that could be completed on the kitchen table out of the way of the workers!
It's a lovely feeling though (smug alert!) except for the fact I now have the cards to do and there's far more of them! Still, although I can get out and about now, I will earmark a day when I can crack on with them in order to keep out of the way!
I know some posters have said it's far too early but I would rather this than have last minute dashes and when you have to factor in posting etc. I see no harm in getting it done. I am now looking forward to enjoying the run-up and enjoy the real spirit of Christmas season. I gather you are disabled so well done to you! flowers

Boodymum ...I can only do it from my phone not my laptop!

I highlight the photo I need from the photo library with a tick.
Get onto GN find the thread and message box
Then hit the paperclip (attachment) button.

Is this any help?

I don't even think about it until the week before Christmas.

Witzend Sat 09-Nov-19 19:06:26

Now I'm almost there with the Big Knits, I shall start my Christmas shopping in earnest. Would be lovely to have it all done and wrapped by December - though I always have to get several presents early - for family a long drive away in N Yorks. We always have a meet-up late Nov or early Dec, and not just for a present swap, since we don't see each other very often.

Today we went up to the loft and brought most of the Christmas stuff done. Not so much preparing for Christmas, but tomorrow the gas and electricity people are coming in to majorly upgrade a lot of our electrics and move the boiler and will need to get into the loft to thread pipes and cables.

I'm almost done too. Wont stop me going out for a few lovely lazy browses and coffees without necessarily needing to buy anything other than the odd impulse buy.

boodymum67 Sat 09-Nov-19 13:20:55

Hi again. I`ve tried and tried to ad pics...cant do it!

boodymum67 Sat 09-Nov-19 13:03:40

thanks for all your replies.....I am a wheelchair user and go out once a week with a carer, so I thought it best to get it done before shops get crowded and shops get overfilled and wheelchair lanes narrow!

I`ll try to put some pics on Namsnanny and Leyla, where do you live? Lol . Best wishes all xxx

Monica...I enjoy long foreplay too ( but that’s another story)
grin

I haven’t even started to think about Christmas presents yet,
But admire anyone who is so organised boodymum as I need to get the family to say what they would like, or a few hints anyway, and I know that will take another month, so will probably get presents about the first week in Dec if I’m lucky.

Much too early!

grandtanteJE65 Fri 08-Nov-19 16:49:58

I have just bought my Christmas cards and one small present.

ginny Thu 07-Nov-19 22:07:25

Not even thought about it yet. It’ll all get done eventually.

Sara65 Thu 07-Nov-19 19:04:10

I’ve bought quite a lot now, but still have a long way to go.

I can’t set up Christmas HQ with my pasting table, and all my equipment, until I’m fairly sure there won’t be anymore sleepovers.

Too early!

Cherrytree59 Thu 07-Nov-19 18:48:18

Well done boodymum?

DH has kindly shared his man cold, so spent all day at home yesterday.
I did not want to waste the day, so did some Christmas wrapping for myself and very kindly for my DD (hidden prezzies ?).

The presents are for my oldest grandson as he has a specific interest that will not change by Christmas.
My other two little grandsons change their toy allegiance on a daily basis, I will await Santa's letters. ?

We have three birthdays before the big day, I need to be organised.

I send a lot of free ecards now especially abroad-saves a fortune and stops more landfill too!

Oldandverygrey Thu 07-Nov-19 17:38:17

Boodymum - I also have wrapped presents etc., but do not write Christmas cards out too early in case one of us passes away! Only joking I think.

Callistemon Thu 07-Nov-19 17:34:48

I haven't done a thing

Postal strike? Eek!

threexnanny Thu 07-Nov-19 17:17:39

My pre Christmas timetable is going to be thrown out if the postal strikes go ahead. I've cards and parcels to send abroad as well as quite a few birthdays in the next few weeks.

Namsnanny Thu 07-Nov-19 17:08:42

Boodymum67 ... how do you feel about posting a photo of your boxes etc., on the thread called christmas prep
Some of us have already put up lovely photos of things we’ve made!
Yours would be a welcome addition grin

glammanana Thu 07-Nov-19 16:37:38

The past few years have been really easy now my DGCs have grown up,money/giftcards etc all appreciated.
This year has been wonderful buying for 1 x DGD 18mths & 2 x GGC so I have had a lovely time buying baby presents once again and looking forward to seeing little faces on the day.
Everything is all wrapped and ready to be posted to Santa.
