What’s your fav part of Christmas

I am so lucky that all my children and partners, plus new baby grandson, will be together by Christmas afternoon and, God willing, the fun will commence.
There will be present opening, lots of laughs and silly games to play.
So by Christmas Eve all the presents will be brought and wrapped, every food cupboard and fridge will be full and I will sigh and think to myself "Bring it on!!"

I like it when all the presents have been got . All the food shopping has been done and then nothing left to do but enjoy it .

Being in the company of those I really really love a lot. Wonderful.

I always book tickets for a show (used to be a pantomime) about a week after Christmas when we can relax and enjoy it seems to bring to an end the festivities, before we go back to work/school and resume our daily routines.

Me too Jan 2nd... nights stop drawing in, and looking forward to longer daylight!

Bradfordlass, have you got a cat? Cat could have moved the baby Jesus and lamb. Mice have been known to move small objects too.

Don't live near GC so not always possible to see them opening presents. When I do I enjoy that. Otherwise when the mayhem is all over and life back to normal.

spooky, I personally adore the time around 6th January. My classes and activities will restart and it's all over.

Christmas eve for me.
Everything that could be done is done and what i`ve forgot won`t be missed.
Time to get the wine out and close the door to the world.

All my life Christmas has depressed me,I don't know why. I do like putting up the tree and I did have a son on Christmas Day. Usually I'm just glad when it's all over.

I live Christmas so for me it’s Christmas Eve - the anticipation and the excitement of the kids.

New Years Day and that feeling of hope.

Favourite part of Christmas? Boxing Day.

Remembering the ‘reason for the season’ at church, I love the lighting of the advent candles on the SundayS leading up to Christmas. And since I’ve become a Grammy the sight of my grandson opening his presents.
Also love Boxing Day which has become my day for doing nothing ?

Being with family.
Christmas cards and letters from old friends.

I agree with Septima. Midnight mass and the final verse of O Come all ye faithful. The singing, the joy , the anticipation. All very special.

Boxing Day.
All usually goes well with our Christmas meal, but I enjoy Boxing Day, when there is lots of tasty cold food. All presents have been given and received.
Then we can just relax ... ???

School nativity plays. I worked in an infant school for years and loved listening to them singing Christmas songs, watching the little ones fidgeting on stage, forgetting lines etc. It always brought a tear to my eye. This year will be dgd first nativity and she is Mary. Decorating the house, making it sparkly and twinkly is another favourite, and looking through the Christmas magazines for recipes that look appealing but I never get round
to making!

Oh, I love Christmas Eve! It's that little bit of perfect peace between rushing around to buy for Christmas - all the housework, things to remember, etc. - and the busyness of Christmas Day.

The afternoon Candlelight Carol Service at the local church, with the grandchildren is just magical. Then home to put the Christmas meat in the oven - feet up, while the smell of the cooking drifts over us. Midnight Mass on the tele ...

When we were farming it used to be around 6pm on Christmas Day. My younger brother and his family would spend Christmas eve and most of Christmas Day with his in-laws but as they were Swiss, most of the activities were all done and dusted by lunch time. We used to love their noisy arrival. All the kids would disappear upstairs to play with the new toys and then when they were teenagers, listen to the latest music or watch videos.

We adults would polish off a bottle of two of wine before calling them down again for the latest 'must have' game and sandwiches/snacks/choccies etc., etc.

We would then have a riotous sing along. I would play the piano (not too brilliantly), DB would play guitar, DS would drum along on anything he could find, DD1 would play her school 'cello and DD2 the violin (which she was only just learning so you can imagine what it sounded like)

DH has a wonderful baritone voice so he always led the singing. Thank goodness we didn't have any neighbours.
