I was going to make lots of pomanders to give away about two Christmases ago but ran out of time.
I have three tubs of cloves (but not many oranges this year.)

Oh I must try this. Thanks ?

Duh! I could do this when sticking cloves the onion for bread sauce - never thought of that !

Ooh, I've never tried this but will do so now. Oranges are on my last click and collect order.

I used to do these years ago around the house at Christmas along with bunches of cinnamon sticks.

I’ve been caught out with doing the cloves the hard way but I love the result. Gorgeous smell.

They showed us how to do that at a NT house when they did Christmas craft (in the good old days ie last year). The DGD enjoyed making them too.
Mine lasted for ages in the airing cupboard.

I should have ordered more oranges, too late now for a Christmas order.

...that if you decide to make a Christmassy pomander out of an orange that’s starting to look a wee bit dried up, and a jar of cloves that wouldn’t be used otherwise, it’s a lot easier pushing cloves into said orange if you make a little hole with a skewer first, instead of doing a third of it the hard way first!

(It does smell very nice BTW!)
