Christmas cards out of fashion I wonder !

I haven't sent Christmas cards out for about 15 years. I wouldn't mind them quite as much if they had a real purpose, such as an enclosed annual 'round up' letter. I hate the clutter of them in my house too. I don't mind 1 or 2 special ones from people I'm very close to, but otherwise they get read and go straight in the recycling. Fortunately, due to my many moves, most of my contacts are online and don't have my physical address so I don't get many.

Out of fashion, I think. I get a few Christmas emails from people but not cards so much. I don't send them out either.

I love sending Christmas cards out and receiving them, and I can't see me changing that.

Last year I noticed that Christmas cards were glitter free. I know this is good for the environment but I so miss that glitter.

Probably is dying out but I still paint about 40 of my own design and send out I love getting them back it probably is the main part of Christmas I like, otherwise I m not a fan of that time of year

I still send them to my family as t's sometimes the only contact we have with one another

I have noticed how over the last few years people stop sending them. I buy them it’s a tradition I love and I will carry on sending to those who send them to us.

I love sending and receiving them for Christmas (and birthdays) but unfortunately it is not a tradition in France, even for New Year or birthdays, so I only have those from English friends. Cards have never been bought in big numbers, no boxed ones and the French selection is not at all attractive plus the fact most of them are singled card so have to be leaned on something.

I no longer send cards to people with whom I am in contact on a regular basis. The cost of postage is now so prohibitive they are pricing themselves out of the market.

I buy cards in support of my favourite charity to give them money and publicity. I notice a lot of cards I receive are the same. I use them as decorations on the windowsill in my conservatory. I still seem to receive the same number. I notice some like to use a photo of their family as the front of the card which I’m not sure I like. Last year when in lockdown I sent a lot of jacqui Lawson e-cards. One friend uses them a lot but although lovely I still prefer a card I can look at on the windowsill rather than having to go into my computer.

Not as popular as they were, the cost of postage is prohibitive and its a time consuming process. Younger people communicate in different ways now.

Definitely going out of fashion. Shame really as I love them. But I only get them for immediate family now

One year I decided not to send cards, but I chickened out at the eleventh hour when I thought of my husband’s old cousins not getting a card from us, I have cut back enormously though.

I have friends who say they are giving to charity rather than send cards. I do both! It definitely seems to be going out of fashion among younger people. Maybe to save paper? It could be an environmental thing.

Still getting as many as ever, but, of course, most of them come from friends in the same age bracket as us

Still enjoy preparations for Christmas, including sending Christmas cards. Don’t mind if I don’t get many back, enjoy sending them out. Although do only send to close friends and acquaintances.

I like sending ending and receiving cards but sadly there are fewer and fewer as people die or most ve on. I shall still buy stuff me and post them. I hold on to as many Xmas traditions as I can. Xmas makes the first part of the winter bearable for me.
