I haven't been going out prior to this so certainly won't start now. The only difference to the first lockdown for me is that I have contact my DD who is going out to work, and that I'm seeing my partner.

Went to a lovely Christmas meal lunch out yesterday with GN friends, and will go out again to visit friends about another three times between now and Christmas.Will keep the arrangements with the family too, over the three main days of Christmas.We have had all three vaccinations and friends will tell us and cancel if they are ill beforehand.

I am keeping to my arrangements with family as I don't see them often but other than that I won't be going anywhere.

A couple of church things, one essential shopping trip and son and GD coming this weekend. Then I'm playing it by ear but mostly staying at home and away from other people as much as possible.

We don’t have anything planned until Christmas Day, but although we don’t often eat out, dh and I are thinking of going to eat at a local restaurant, just to support them.

Certainly nothing in the nature of a public venue.

I hope Mick is going to be OK going to the cinema- apparently Brackley has the highest Omicron rate of cases per 1000 people in the country.

My Friday lunch group was canceled a few weeks ago but I am meeting one friend for a late breakfast tomorrow in a cafe that follows all the rules.

My reading group meeting is still on for tomorrow afternoon but just for tea and mince pies. Not 100% sure if it will go ahead but there are several childless widows who are craving company.

With both WI and U3A Christmas events cancelled it looks a bit like last Christmas again, so am hoping Sunday’s carol service goes ahead. Liverpool family are desperate to see DH so am hoping nothing stops them from coming. Not planning on taking any risks though.

I've no desire to visit anywhere other than essential shopping trips but OH is delivering cards and gifts over the weekend. Won't be going with him as one of the household has a really smelly dog and two of the most obnoxious children I have ever met.

I had planned to meet up with my son and Dil and 2 children who live 140 miles away this weekend for a 2 night break in self catering accommodation in the Lake District. My Dil now has covid and the weekend had to be cancelled. I’m worried now that my son and grandchildren will be next and they’ll be heading into a miserable Christmas.

I’m cooking Christmas dinner for my local daughter, Sil and 2 children. That’s assuming there’s not a further tightening of restrictions before then. We are as careful as possible and have been doing lateral flow tests several times a week before getting together.

I shall be going to a medical appointment next Tuesday morning. That’s all.

Just collecting pre-ordered Xmas meat from the local butcher. Some destined for the freezer as we’ve cancelled plans for family to come from Boxing Day through to New Year. All other shopping being delivered. Hermit mode rules.

Yes Urmonstongran, I fear you may be right, many places just won't survive or will decide that they just can't take the uncertainty and unpredictability any more. I had a couple of lunches and dinners over the past fortnight, but nothing else planned before Xmas so no guilt about cancelling anything, luckily. Now just supermarkets, suitably distanced and masked.

No big events with the grandchildren. We were going to take them to an ice show on Monday but our daughter has cancelled ‘events’. Ditto them taking the children to the circus on Boxing Day. However we’ve just taken them to a family run cafe for their lunch. Tables spaced well apart.

I feel so sorry for hospitality and entertainment industries at the moment. They’ve been decimated. So many won’t survive this latest round I fear.

Christmas party night tomorrow with friends at a local golf club won't be cancelling unless we turn into hermits and stop everything we could pick it up anywhere

My main christmas lunches out were last week, so not much more planned. I couldn't get a click and collect for next week which means a trip to a supermarket just before Christmas.

I went to lunch at a gastro pub yesterday and it was sadly half empty. I feel safe enough taking reasonable precautions. I’m feeling poorly due to the booster but am trying to get on with it. I think it’s inevitable that massive disruption is ahead due to people isolating (daughter’s school is already in crisis mode) so I am going to do my best to protect myself and others, whilst knowing that the economy is in trouble. My niece owns a pub and is distraught right now.

I have been very careful since the pandemic and cut down on socialising anyway. But there are a couple of things I will go to before Christmas unless they are cancelled. They are my granddaughters nursery concert that will take place outside, a presentation for my grandson that he has asked us to attend several times and a mainly outdoors Christmas event with our grandchildren that was pre booked and will be socially distanced. I am also due to meet a friend this weekend friend that I haven't seen for several months. I think I will still do that. I have cancelled a couple of other things I was going to do .

We are taking two DGC to a panto tomorrow. “Oh no we’re not!”. “Oh yes we are!”
Our little local theatre where I sing with a choir has had a grant and installed state of the art air filtration system. DH and I will wear masks.

If I want to see my GGC / family again, I forfeit Christmas until things are safe for me to do so. Not a big ask is it ?

We have cancelled everything in the run up to Christmas apart from going to DD3's very, very small wedding on 23rd.

We went out last night and I was surprised to see that there was only one other table occupied. Three tables total all the time we were there. I am going to an hotel over Christmas and booked only a week ago. I thought they would be booked up when I had dithered so long, but they still had a good room available. Am I just feeling invincible?
