This was how it was worded in 1644 but I expect (hope?) Sajid Javid will come up with something slightly less wordy.

I doubt it, hot air is after all politicians stock-in-trade.

(As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end, Amen.)

Thought this was a reference to the lovely, late Alan Rickman in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

What a marvellously dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham he was.

I like the sound of carnal and sensual delights at Christmas, but not so keen on remembering the sins of my forefathers (let them remember their own sins!)

The old way of writing the S reminds me of the vicar of dibley episode where the ditsy girl had to read the lesson ? And the last word was “succour”……….

Hee hee hee. It reminds me of the hilarious sketch that I think was read out in story fashion of Cinderella by the late great Ronnie Barker. I missed half of it through laughing.
( where the s's were written as f's in olde English )

So disappointed in Javid. Before he was back in he was so against lockdowns and now he is in, he cant wait to bring them on!
