Beautiful. my grandfather took me to a Vienna Boy' concert when I was a child, and I have never forgotten it. Thank you for sharing this.

You're right, Joseann; I believe an Austrian priest wrote the words and and asked the church organist to set it to music suitable for guitar when they found themselves without a working church organ one Christmas Eve.

Our school took us to a performance by the Vienna Boys Choir in Liverpool approximately 57 years ago . It was wonderful but I don’t think those four boys were there then . They sounded beautiful .

Stille Nacht was written and first performed over 200 years ago in a little church near Salzburg.
