...you have 2 sausage rolls an olive and a handful of twiglets for your breakfast grin

Glad you have all had a good day. Scrambled eggs and salmon for me this morning. Feel full now say I’m eating no more!

That's someone's law, GG. I feel your pain.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 25-Dec-24 20:35:58

kittylester the turkey juices had spilled over, and I have a house full tomorrow.

It was definitely not by choice 😹😹😹

When you are cleaning your oven at 7pm on a Wednesday evening 🤷‍♀️

That's a bit extreme GG!!

When you come home with a cool bag of tubs of leftovers for the freezer including a large one of my dd’s gorgeous red cabbage.

Oh so sorry you can’t enjoy the pork pie. My father in law used to have pp for Christmas breakfast. He was originally from the West Midlands and I’d never come across that tradition before.

When the smell of roast turkey wafts through the house

Thank you, Grandmadinosaur - that's what is in the unidentifiable parcel.

Sadly, I'm gf so can't eat it but DH is Leicestershire Lad so it's compulsory for Christmas breakfast.

When you look in the fridge and find numerous, unidentifiable, foil wrapped parcel of various sizes which could contain gammon, turkey, pigs in blankets, left over veg or something else - which could be anything at all.

Oh yes that is Christmas all right kitty but I’m a happy bunny as one of my foil parcels contains pork pie from that certain East Midlands based bakery yum yum.

And when DH declares that he hates Wallace and Gromit but sits eating a big bowl of popcorn while chuckling all the way through it.

My Irish mother used to say at Christmas, 'there's joy and sadness in every home' which in my teenage head I used to think was obvious and mawkish but of course, she was correct. Christmas brings joy and warmth but also trials and tribulations, I wish everyone the best Christmas they can have and a healthy and peaceful year ahead.

I never sleep well and last night when I woke for a wee I had some chocolate! Naughty me. In my defence usually I don’t eat the stuff. It was a toblerone too

You switch the oven on to heat up in readiness for the turkey and somebody else switches it off because they think you’ve accidentally left it on after warming up bagels for breakfast.

grin grin ......

" I was only trying to help"

must be one of the most overused phrases today!

I'm sorry to hear your husband has been unwell WW but I'm glad he's improving. Enjoy your days everyone. I am waiting for my turkey to get to room temperature, it's life in the fast lane here

Oh and Christmas Eve breakfast is always, waffles back bacon and maple syrup.

I hope your DH is on the mend

Thank you. He is so much stronger and doesn’t get wiped out by showering etc. I think he is doing well, as it is 1 month since leaving hospital, and they talked about weeks/months of recovery.

This is first day out! Our son is hosting dinner for the entire family. I’m driving so can’t drink😮😮. Could do with a restorative😊

You mix stuffing for the turkey at the same time you’re stirring your porridge …

Oh, I am sooo boring.

My usual porridge, toast, orange juice, coffee.

No smoked salmon on the toast, no champers in the orange juice, no Baileys in the coffee.

But I did throw a few grapes in the porridge.

😇
